I know why our head teacher was sacked - not so much a love triangle as a love pentagon. (perhaps more accurately described as a lust pentagon)

A friend was having some legal trouble to do with an inheritance. I did some digging and inadvertently found out my friend was 2 when his parents married.

He knows now but has not let on to his mother (father passed away) that he knows.

rainbowduck · 16/08/2025 05:24

A good friend is in a serious relationship with another good friends XH.
They are both single (divorced) so technically doing nothing wrong, and they are actually in love, but only a couple of people know, and none of the XP’s or DC know yet. They are hoping to keep it quiet for as long as possible, but we live in a small rural community so who knows what will happen…

I do think that a lot of people will be shocked when it all comes out though…

marblebutterfly · 16/08/2025 05:26

The first time I drove my car after passing my driver's test I hit a parked car on a little residential street. I left my phone number on the windscreen. A man rang me up and asked if I was sure it was parked where it was and not at the golf club. I live nowhere close to a golf club. Google says our nearest one is just over 7 miles away. Turns out his wife had taken his car to go to work at the golf club. He was livid and said not to worry about the damage, his wife could sort it out. I'm pretty sure I exposed her affair 😳

That’s fabulous, I bet he will be delighted. I have a soft spot for MCR. Takes me back to happy times when my DD was a teenager. She played them non stop, and the videos were constantly on Kerrang. I know most of their stuff off by heart.

It was the first concert her and her mates went too unaccompanied. I think they were 13. Her friend’s dad dropped them off, but unbeknown to them he had got a ticket and was stood at that back. Ended up fishing one of them out of the mosh pit when it got messy!

What a fabulous dad.

I haven’t read the full thread but here is
my best gossip:

very high end (household names)fly specifically to Hong Kong to get knock off Chanel handbags

InMyOpenOnion · 16/08/2025 06:03

I am fed up with my neighbour's builders parking on the pavement outside my house every day because they're too tight to pay for a permit. Yesterday I secretly reported them to the council, not really expecting anything to happen. Imagine my glee when someone turned up and issued a ticket. I took great delight in watching them apoplectic about having to pay for their awful parking, with no idea it was me who reported them! (Built up area, loads of houses and people about)

She’ll be earning £££. My bil sister ran her own ‘kinky cleaning’ business - never had sex or anything, simply cleaned the house whilst in her underwear and the bloke watched 😳 She made a fortune

I'd actually heard of these businesses, but hadn't made the connection.

A colleague at work who works with clients, was planning to use clients confidential information for their own financial gain. He cancelled his plans before he got caught because this client went after him. So now theres no proof. I cant go to the upper management about it because its a serious sackable offence and you cant make such accusations without evidence. Some colleagues who know him for a long time have suggested he has been given warnings about similar things in the past. Such a snake!

MrsDoubtfire1 · 16/08/2025 06:58

Years ago, all people involved dead except me. My cousin had a beautiful wife who stayed at home, looked after the children, and kept house for him. They were very happy. One day, she said she wanted some pocket money so got herself a cleaning job in the city one day a week. Off she trotted on Mondays on the bus for the whole day. I was staying with them and her old MIL lived with them and did not trust her. The phone went and I answered it. Caller said: Hello darling, when can we meet again? I asked who they wanted to speak to and they said 'So you are not Mrs X'. I replied 'No, I am the husband's cousin'. They put the 'phone down. I told my aunt and she told my cousin who took matters into his own hands. He discovered she had been shagging the bloke who owned the local petrol station in the city. All hell broke loose and they divorced.

How old are the couple? Bewildered what the young girl gets from this.

Hard cash I would have thought.

I’m going to have a wild guess and say she gets money.

What? Is the secret he was born out of wedlock (which isn’t shocking unless we are going back a 100 years?) or that his dad was not his dad?

I know someone who has four natural kids, and he adopted one that one of his partners had before they got together. So he’s got four children by three mums, and one adopted. The adopted child and the three youngest ones don’t know about the eldest one. The eldest is in his 30s, the youngest in primary age. The father is also a total cockwomble, an awful man whom I hate intensely. I just hope the eldest one turns up unexpectedly one day and introduces himself. The acquaintance keeps his eldest very separate from the others, though why, I don’t know.

A few years ago I had a woman boss who took all the credit for a large piece of work that I did. There were articles in the papers and glossy magazines about this marvellous piece of work. She won awards and was photographed after a makeover, looking very glamorous. I was told by her boss not to say anything - it was assumed she had done this work because of her seniority and position. She was very smug about this and told me she was untouchable. On Monday morning she’s going to get a redundancy letter as her job is being cut.

Please tell me it’s been the more reluctant partner who has got lucky!

Sadly, no. The partner who was gagging for it is doing well, with what everyone in the know suspects was already their affair partner.

Birdwordie · 16/08/2025 07:56

A long time friend of mine found out last year unintentionally that her husband was looking and child p*. They have two young children, she phoned the police and it took over a year of investigation, her daughter made a claim against him and that was really difficult for her, I couldn't say anything until he was recently convicted due to fear of her being harassed and her daughter being harassed at school - due to the paper leaking her address, this happened anyway. But was crazy to keep such a thing for a long time to myself!

I can't imagine sleeping with Stacey if you were married to Mylene.

I think this is the common misconception people have that affairs are all about getting an ‘upgrade’.

Often the affair partner compares unfavourably.

mylene Klass was main breadwinner, is very intelligent, talented and attractive. I think most men grow to resent this…her ex was a bodyguard. He may be a lovely bloke but Im guessing he’s not as clever or talented.

the ‘other’ woman (if the rumours are to be believed) isn’t as posh, clever or good looking. Maybe he found that more comfortable ? She was also younger, so more easily impressed- men love women looking up to them.

That’s a shame. Hope it works out in the long run!

(NC) I found out last week that I'm about to receive a six-figure inheritance. Completely unexpected, life-changing. Have actually spent the last few years building a nice life for myself and my little cat, following an abusive relationship and being forced out of my job. Got the news in the middle of uploading a bunch of old clothes to sell on Vinted to make the cash to get a new(ish) autumn coat.

Ohhh congratulations to you. Thats amazing news. Hope you get some good financial advice.

Recently starting seeing someone I met at work and have known for 2 years.
Have been on about 4 dates, and latest one we ended up back at his house. He is on the rebound after a previous relationship that lasted 8 months, and we had a lengthy chat, in summary he said he met his last 3 exes on dating apps, none of which lasted longer than a few months, and that he wasn't "really looking for a relationship right now". Fair enough I thought, and told him I appreciated his honesty. He then took my hand and tried to lead me into the bedroom ! If I told you what i said to him, I would be banned from MN.
No one is perfect, but there were a few things about him which were red flags, for instance, not one but two mad exes !

I'm not sure what the problem is here.

You went back to his place, presumably with the intention of having sex. He was honest and told you that he wasn't looking for anything serious. Unless you then told him that sex was no longer on the cards, why were you upset that he tried to initiate sex?

Lucyweeks · 16/08/2025 08:16

I've sold the company I work for, for £100m. The founder and CEO has banned me from telling the other shareholders as they are minority holdings.
I'm off to the solicitors next week as I don't want to be involved in dodgy dealings I've kept the screaming voice message when he accuses me of leaking the news.
I'm skint after being ill so this is a God send for me but I suspect he's lied about the turnover too.
The end of the month is dday so he'll be out buying off other shareholdings for less than they are now worth. I also suspect he's a cokehead but I can't ask anyone.
