Anyone believe in this?

What's not to believe

😁.

There are people who believe that they can see miniature people in photos, who are living a parallel universe to us. They try to prove this by zooming in on the photos and outlining these ‘beings’.

I know the above is nothing to do with Bigfoot, Some people do the same kind of photo analysis regarding Bigfoot sightings though. I’m just amazed that people actually believe these things.

School holidays are nearly over.

Is that relevant?

People in ape costume.

Something I’ve noticed on videos purporting to show BF…everything is very much in focus until the critter appears and then it goes all shaky and fuzzy. Funny, that.

Finteq · 15/08/2025 15:57

It's so weird.

When I was younger we used to have frequent news items of sightings of fairies. Bigfoot and Nessie.

Seems to have stopped.

Finteq · 15/08/2025 15:58

Used to make national news

AmyDudley · 15/08/2025 15:59

I've got bigfoot at the moment because I've damaged a tendon, does that count ?

ETA my foot isn't hairy though.

Yeah, the supposed ‘proof’ footage was later admitted to be fake.

I’m just curious as to why so many people want to believe something supernatural exists really.

I think our world is brilliant enough without some imaginary being. I’m talking about nature though, people not so much.

No, thanks for your call though.

We went through a period of ufo sightings too.

Media influence.

Of course, there is so much evidence, the footprints that are totally different from humans, the hair and scat samples,. There are legends of it from native Americans going back centuries, the throwing rocks and tree shaking are classic primate behaviours.,

It's become an industry in North America. There have been lots of TV shows about it, people go on Bigfoot hunting tours and Bigfoot merch sells well. Thousands of people, especially in the northwest, claim to have encountered them and some of them are pretty unimpeachable witnesses. An organization that keeps track of North American sightings claims to have documented over 10,000 witnesses. However, you'd think that in the smartphone age there would be better pictures to go along with the sightings. Then again, that could be because they're terrified and either freeze or run like hell. If somebody is just standing there calmly filming it then it would seem most likely that it's been faked.

One thing I find puzzling is why people believe in God, a supposed metaphysical being nobody has ever seen, but scoff at Bigfoot, a supposed hominid species lots of people claim to have seen. Many people also believe in ghosts but scoff at Bigfoot. I'm agnostic so I neither believe nor disbelieve, and that applies to anything weird/supernatural.

MemorableTrenchcoat · 15/08/2025 16:34

It seems unlikely, but not impossible, I guess. It seems quite a few experts think the famous Patterson–Gimlin footage was not faked, or if it was, such a fake was far beyond the capabilities of a couple of amateurs.

Oh yeah, every single photo - fuzzy. And definitely a tourist attraction.

I’m also with you on the God thing. I once tried believing, personal crisis, and came out the other side. That schizophrenic bastard did nothing for me.

It would make sense that in the past there was a big foot style large ape that lived in mountains. I think they were there once but are long extinct.

Motion cameras would have snapped one if they were around, they snap mountain leopards and we barely see them.

ginasevern · 15/08/2025 16:47

I honestly saw a "little person" once when I was around 13. My friend saw it too. It ran into a tree hollow. No, we weren't on drugs.
