To think my cat is the perfect husband

Hear meowt,
My ginger Tom might be the perfect husband. He is super handsome, always grooming himself to look the best, great with hygiene.

He also gives me lots and lots of affection. Always seeking me out to give me loving nudges, massages, sleeping next to me, purring relaxing sounds, and when he looks at me, it is with loving eyes.

He is a great co-parent too. I take the kids upstairs at 9pm, and we do bedtime together. If the kids play up and don't settle, one big meow and the kids go to bed. I usually lie next to the younger one and Tom lies next to the older one. Purring until he falls asleep. Then we get up and go watch tv downstairs. Sometimes we lie on the floor and do a yoga or a light work out. He especially likes stretching.

Tom is also a real mans man. If i let him, he goes out to hunt and brings me food. He likes to surprise me every now and then with different foods he thinks i should try and sometimes he leaves the food in new unexpected places to keep things interesting. He does get a bit grumpy if i don't let him out, but he doesn't hold grudges and cuddles me to sleep regardless.

He is also very intuitive. He knows i hate the wallpaper upstairs and he has been working on removing it for a few years now. And the best thing is, i didn't even have to ask!

So, is Tom the best husband ever?

Does Tom do the laundry, cooking or make any money for the family?

AbzMoz · 13/08/2025 21:09

Wondering … does Tom have a brother? Asking for a friend…

WhereIsMyJumper · 13/08/2025 21:09

Tom sounds perfect to me OP. Definitely not a LTB here.

Justmeagain12 · 13/08/2025 21:10

Brilliant husband Smile

WhereIsMyJumper · 13/08/2025 21:10

Although I can’t really pass judgement without seeing a picture of him…

Borris · 13/08/2025 21:10

The only man around my house is a cat too - and I couldn’t be happier!

Parksinyork · 13/08/2025 21:11

My ginger tom would be an abusive dickhead of a husband.

Talk5 · 13/08/2025 21:12

Love this!

Mrsmunchofmunchington · 13/08/2025 21:12

I think a lot of women realise just how crap men really are once they get a cat and discover real love!

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/08/2025 21:12

Tom sounds awesome.

mrsm43s · 13/08/2025 21:13

Mines an absolute bastard, who expects me to house him, feed him, cherish him and tend to his every need, whilst all he does is strut around like he owns the place, and occasionally throws a bit of affection my way. And you should hear the wailing if his dinner isn't on the table in time...

Icequeen01 · 13/08/2025 21:13

I totally get this. I have two ginger Tom’s who are the light of my life. DH knows his place at home! I’m also the only person I know who has a photo of their cats as their phone background rather than one of their DS or DH!!

Theres a woman in my local area who actually married her cat so her landlord couldn't evict her for having pet and you sound crazier than her!

Brilliant!

So just like a husband 🤣

Iamthemoom · 13/08/2025 21:23

I had a ginger Tom for 18 years and he was the best company, so loving. Currently shacked up with two Tuxedos, a Tabby and a Bombay Black. Four husbands are hard work!

Purpleknickers · 13/08/2025 21:24

I adore Tom already and raise you Mabel and Bella who quietly go about their day chatting to me, come indoors for the obligatory head stroke plus a snack and get on with hunting (without success)

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 21:26

I don’t mind my cats banana slice near my face ❤️

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 21:28

@Tagyoureit the cat has a very ‘FFS’ expression in that pic 🤣
