To be totally pissed off with this comment from a supposed friend?

I had a conversation with a male friend on MSN. He apparently thinks that I'm a liability because I'm supposedly bipolar and I have two children and that I'm lucky I'm good looking because if I wasn't no man would ever be interested in me again and I would be single for the rest of my life.

He said my life hangs on my face and boobs

I'm probably being over sensitive and should ignore, of course. But I thought he was a friend. Is this the general view of people everywhere?

Some friend I think I would go hunt him down and deck him actually.

glastocat · 28/05/2008 22:19

He's a twat. Tell him to fuck off.

bethoo · 28/05/2008 22:20

block him on msn and dont bother with him again.
he obviously sees women as just a pair of tits.

Rowlers · 28/05/2008 22:20

Friends don't say those sorts of things.
They really don't.

i second glastocat

PotPourri · 28/05/2008 22:22

erm, not much of a friend. YANBU, ditch him. You can do better for friends. Block him and leave it at that. Not even worth thinking about again - he is clearly an idiot.

electra · 28/05/2008 22:25

Thanks, you're all right. I am very depressed at the moment and this sort of thing doesn't help.

Good point, sallystrawberry.

I think he should get that messaged to him as their final conversation.

charliecat · 28/05/2008 22:27

and if he is your friend he knows that and is a complete and utter wanker.
You are not being oversensitve at all...and hey you are lovely, saw your pic the other night. Whoever this bloke is he is a creep.

Rowlers · 28/05/2008 22:28

Try not to think about these comments.
While you are spending time getting down about it, he's not given it a second thought.

eenybeeny · 28/05/2008 22:28

That is crap.

AND its not true. I am a (ahem - no one get offended by my choice of words) mental case - and I am always fighting men off who are in love with me!

Well I was before DH put me in a convent.

Seriously. Be happy you are gorgeous but he is not a friend to you. And he probably had some deceitful motive in saying such a nasty thing to you. Who knows what it is but I would NOT consider him a friend anymore.

electra · 28/05/2008 22:29

lol sallystrawberry

thanks charliecat xx

"Friend' are you sure? Was he trying to be funny?

Have been meaning to email you- my new tutor starts on Friday. I think my ds is going to be a shock after your sweet dd

electra · 28/05/2008 23:03

Oh I see, lol. Well I don't think I'm great and it seems to me that his opinion is a bit suspect anyway. However, he does have a thing about me - I know that. So perhaps he's just trying to make himself feel better.

electra's dd is stunning - have thought so since I first saw her - she's a real sweetie.

BTW - noticed your 'supposedly' bipolar. Do you think you've been misdxed (can understand your concern if you have ).

electra · 28/05/2008 23:04

Hi jimjams - I'm definitely going to email you xx

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 28/05/2008 23:04

That's a very harsh remark, you have every right to be pissed off (I wouldn't mind your face and boobs though )

getbackinyouryurtjimjams · 28/05/2008 23:04

ahh if he has a thing about you that explains it

Men are like small boys- show offs to ones they like (have observed it in ds2!)
