Dressing kids in matching clothes

I don’t like parents dressing their kids of the same gender in the same clothes - twins and siblings about 15 months in difference.

Have friends who have nieces, nephews wearing the same clothes all the time. The children are individual, so treat them like they are.

it may look cute but it’s going towards resentment later on. As I have friends who were dressed in the same clothes as their sister as a child and hated it. They do have kids of the same gender. The only time they wear the same matching clothes is school uniform.

My boys are 7 years apart and for about 2-3 years after my youngest was born my eldest would request matching outfits or at least matching tops (they wore scandi brands so the same designs were available from baby to about 12).

It naturally ended when my eldest was approaching 10, partly due to him literally outgrowing the scandi sizes and partly because he lost interest in matching his little brother

It’s what I call a wannabe middle class thing. Someone in our family dresses their girls aged 7 and 10 the same . You can see the embarrassment on the 10 year olds face.

Possibly is now, I don't know, but when I grew up in an upper middle class family (who had been for generations) and was regularly dressed in matching outfits with my sister. I think it was possibly partly a "large family" thing so my mum was also just trying to streamline jobs like clothes shopping
