I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

There is so much more to this existence than we are aware of. I’m not sure there is a logical answer.

How do you know there is much more to this existence than we are aware of if we are not aware of it?

I felt a ghost, does that count?
My friends cat hat died when visiting I kept feeling it rubbing around my legs.I looked but there was nothing there as I was feeling it.

I saw a flying saucer UFO as a teen in the 80s. I saw a letter in a local newspaper the following week asking if anyone else had seen it in that location on that night, but I didn’t respond. I was probably about 14 and quite scared by it.

I saw a flying saucer and the next week saw a letter in the local paper asking if anyone had seen it. But this was early 90s. I was driving my little (old - not flashy!) sports car back from my boyfriend’s house when I heard a loud whirring above and behind me. I looked up and to my right I could see the underside of a massive round flying saucer. It had lights all round it and the inner part was rotating while the whole craft was alongside me. I was petrified, it was really low and loud. It’s funny because my friends and I had talked a few times about how if we ever saw one, we’d just be “beam me up Scotty” but when you’re alone in the middle of the night in a small soft-top car, not so brave! It followed alongside until I got to a big roundabout, then it shot off really fast diagonally. I’m sure my mum spotted a reply to the woman’s letter (seem to remember she had the same first name as me) from either the council or police, saying it was a special craft they used for traffic surveys. That made it all the more mystifying.
Years later I was listening to Danny Baker on Radio London, someone called in and described the exact same thing at a similar time, but in Seven Kings. That was about 10 miles from me, but a small distance for them, being as they’d come all the way from outer space! (Tbf Danny Baker did ask why they came all that way to visit a small part of Ilford!)

With all due respect can you explain;

Drawers opening by themselves and objects flying out of them?

Chairs shooting across the kitchen floor?

Vases flying off shelves?

Landlines ringing with phone calls from dead relatives?

Seriously you had to be there. It was not explainable by the mundane.

No, I can’t explain those things-I wasn’t there. The fact remains that whenever anything supposedly paranormal is properly investigated, it turns out to be not paranormal at all. Good examples of this are spontaneous human combustion, and ghost and orb photographs. Just because we can’t currently explain something doesn’t mean that there’s not an explanation.

ILostMySharkPants · 28/07/2025 19:09

I saw a UFO a few months ago.
It was a VERY dark clear night, so millions of stars visible and the Milky Way clearly visible over my garden.
I was standing in the garden looking up at the stars, when something went very fast across the sky blocking out stars as it went, there was no noise. It was like a very deep black oval hole traveling across the sky. It was fast but not so fast that I couldn’t see it.
I’m very familiar with the night sky, regularly see things that are weird but explainable, but have no explanation for this.

I do believe there’s more to the universe than we can comprehend, and find it bizarre when people are so closed off to that possibility, particularly when there are ghost and UFO accounts from highly credible sources with multiple witnesses.

Well firstly you would be very naive to believe you know everything.
And secondly, I’ve experienced it. I can’t find logical explanations for the things that happened to me and I’m a very rational person.

herbalteabag · 28/07/2025 19:17

I have seen a translucent ball travelling through my flat. I've always wondered what it was so if anyone has any ideas I'd love to know. It was about the size of a mini football.
I've heard what I think was a ghost walking downstairs in the night. I was so sure one of the children had got up but I went to check and they were sound asleep and hadn't moved. The footsteps were very clear.
I felt someone blow in my ear when I was in bed one night and that was unsettling.
I heard the voice of someone who had died speaking to me. The thing was, I didn't know they had died. When that happened I felt I had to immediately make a phone call and I then found out. Though they were in hospital, I wasn't expecting this to be the outcome.

If you've experienced something then you are aware of it.

Ball lightning

Hearing things.

A breeze.

Hearing things.

I’m aware of something but do not know the extent or the full picture. No one does - including you. Wouldn’t it be wiser to keep an open mind?

It's not very wise to believe in fairies or ghosts as the answer to your strange experience. Fairies and ghosts 👻 are the most route one, pre-existing, centuries-old, pre-science, storybook bullshit answer to your strange experience.

If you're keeping an open mind, your mind should be open to every rational explanation. You clearly haven't exhausted every rational explanation if you are resorting to "there is more in this Universe than we will ever know." Think harder.

CurlewKate · 28/07/2025 20:15

It would be very foolish indeed to think we know everything. It would be equally foolish to think we know nothing.

I definitely wasn't hearing things. And it wasn't a breeze, the window wasn't even open. Plus I hadn't been asleep, so it wasn't a dream either.

MasterBeth · 28/07/2025 20:24

How do you know you definitely weren't hearing things?

I wouldn't be surprised if in the not so distant future we have a clear explanation for ‘paranormal activity’ but at the moment, we don’t - but we also still don’t fully understand how the universe works, especially at the quantum level, where particles behave in weird, almost magical ways depending on whether they’re observed or not. If no one ever thought outside the norm, where would we be?

Yeah, so ghosts aren't real.

We do have a clear explanation for many things that used to be considered paranormal. There have been many discovered in my lifetime. There is no reason to believe that all the others won’t be similarly explained.

SpaceRaccoon · 28/07/2025 20:28

I saw a ghost as a little girl. But I don't completely believe in their existence either?

CinnamonCinnabar · 28/07/2025 20:28

A lot of these are around the on/offset of sleep - well know time for confusional states or sleep phenomena- or people suddenly looking up into a bright sky - ideal way to create false images on your retina - or something out of the corner of your eye - classic for misperceptions on the edge of your visual field.
Visual misperceptions, sleep phenomena and retinal afterimages explain a lot of what people are describing here. Although in the case of the person with haunted bin bags and scratches I think you had rats and bedbugs.

Scientists think outside the norm. That’s how they find things out.

MarySueSaidBoo · 28/07/2025 20:31

I've got a dog that likes a wee at 5am most days and there's been a few things that have caught my eye in the sky. One really did freak me out, and I tried to film it but it didn't show on camera at all and Flight radar showed nothing. But we are on a flight training route for Fairford and Brize Norton airbases and I'm perfectly willing to believe it was an aircraft of some kind.

TinkerbellStarbright · 28/07/2025 20:32

One thing that happened to me was I had a really really vivid dream about a fire in a block of flats. I could see people burning inside and banging on the windows for help. I woke up drenched in sweat and physically shaking.

it was the night of the Grenfell fire and I still don’t understand how I dreamed about it.

Ive Had a few dreams now about things that were happening or going to happen.

Everybody is occasionally acutely telepathic. It’s called coincidence and confirmation bias.

Have you heard of the Telepathy Tapes Podcast? Scientific proof that telepathy is real for a group of non-verbal children and their primary care givers/parents. It’s very interesting…
