To ask if anyone has seen ufo, ghost, fae?

Morecoombe · 26/07/2025 22:07

I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

Yes @Gobacktotheworld I imagine there is a lot of people who are anti vaccine who believe in the paranormal, and a lot of people who DO vaccinate who believe.

Whether you're vaccinated or not makes naff-all difference to anyone's beliefs in the paranormal. (No matter what any silly source or 'study' claims.) 🙄

Anyone who says this kind of thing is just trying to throw shade on 'believers.' Like 'oh ha ha, I bet you're anti-vax, flat earthers too haha.' Hmm

The irony of some people believing every word of any random article they see, yet poo-pooing the beliefs of people who believe in the paranormal. Wink

(No matter what any silly source or 'study' claims.)

It's not a silly source, or a random article. It's a peer-reviewed scientific study published by The Royal Society which says that, actually, no, whether you're vaccinated or not does, at a group level, correlate to your belief in the paranormal. If you really can't tell the difference, it's no wonder you have a problem differentiating between what's real and what's not.

I mean, how do you know that flat earthers are ridiculous? Why would you poo-poo their beliefs?

Did she look like a ghost like translucent or anything?
I will watch the you tube vid thx!

I seem to remember her looking 'normal'
Not at all transparent or ghostly
She was on the other side of glass and it was dusk but not 'middle if the night dark' (would have been around 9pm on a summers evening)
The video is 'ghosts of york' and she's either the second or third story in
I has the shock of my life when I glanced up from my cross stitch and there she was on the telly!

Why can't you leave us that believe in woo or experienced woo the clue is in the thread title.
Start your own about non belief/scepticism.

@Brendahollowayreconsider It's because it's posted in AIBU. There's a paranormal thread that would have been better suited.

You'd like to think, wouldn't you, but ime the fuckers even pounce on threads over there. They just can't help themselves. Nowhere is safe from them.

I think it does, actually. People who are credulous enough to believe the conspiracy theories around vaccines over the decades of studies, research, real life practice, and actual incontrovertible evidence that vaccines are inherently a "good thing" - even, and especially, for the unvaccinated - are going to be more credulous about other things for which there is no proof; or even proof against.

No scientifically minded person believes every word of any random article as you claim. Science loves being proved wrong. For theories to be tested, challenged and changed or improved. That's how science works. But along the road of improving understanding, at least scientists exercise rigour and show their working.

The irony of you giving credence to unsubstantiated, apocryphal stories posted by anonymous randoms online, but poo-pooing scientific study and research as "silly" 😊

Flat earthers are ridiculous because we can prove they are wrong.
Can you prove there are no ghosts or that these things people on here say they have seen and experienced is not true?
By rhe way I believe in having and beimg vacinated, I know hoe.many lives have been saved by vacines.
I still believe until proven otherwise in strange paranormal happenings because I have experienced a few myself.
I can understand if you have not done so why you may be sceptical.

I had as a young woman an experience,my boyfriend had brought a book on whitch craft I don't know much about whitch craft but these whitches seemed to be in some sort of coven in the book.He found it amusing at.first but then....
After this we both heard footsteps in the house going up and down the stairs.
He lived there alone and he became frightened doors banging etc.We heard voices and sort of whispering.
We both saw a bowl in the kitchen spinning on it's own on the sideboard no washimg machine.
I had a rosary ar home that we put in the kitchen and we got rid of the book.
I am not a christian, but i was then and I don't take drugs either.
I'd like to know how we. heard and saw the same stuff.
We both saw the bowl spinning enterimg the. atsame time the kitchen. There is.more but I will.stop now

Now you've reminded me. My mother bought a huge beautifully bound bible. The type with a family tree, brass bound clasp, gold leafing. Apparently we had a run of really bad luck so she disposed of it. Another time she foun a gold wedding ring in the gutter that she hung up in the garage not wanting it in the house. Again bad karma.

Greensnow · 30/07/2025 17:52

Some people are just very superstitious, I suppose.

I don’t understand, how is finding someone’s wedding ring bad luck? Why did she hang it in the garage rather try to get it back to its owner?

Well this is the same person who decided that something she bought brought bad luck, so, you know, maybe there is nothing to understand.

As a child,I lived with my granddad

He had a picture of wild horses running away from a forest fire-it was a picture you'd not look twice at,in a cheap frame (it pissed him off that the artist had painted it on the wrong side of the canvas)

It hung just behind the sofa

Every so often,it would fall to the floor (making a massive racket as it hit the floor) and my grandad would say 'someone's died'

Within 24 hours, the phone would ring and someone on the other end would tell grandad who'd died-everyone from my parents neighbours to my childhood dog

It never failed-every time someone we knew died,it would fall off the wall-both nail and the string intact

I thought this was normal as a child and that everyone had a 'death picture'!

It all ended when grandad ended up with dementia and his adult dd put it in a skip when she cleared out his house

She did put something in the local paper. No-one came forward.

My father, used to dream about someone dying and then usually after anout a week they would die.It could be a relative or a neighbour, a client.
We were sometimes on holiday, he would say oh I just dreamt about.. we'd get back.they'd be dead.
It seemed to happen quite a lot and no we don't orignate from Sicilly.😀
My mother was quite fed up,and found it a bit scarey so he stopped telling us.
Sometimes at funerals he said he heard the person who had passed say something a word.Well I suppose.growing up I though lots of people had these kind of experiences.
He sometimes also dreamed of different people having an accident, that usually happened as well once to my grandma, but although he dreamt it the week before, it didn't really help her because it still happend. He warned her you see.

He didn't normaly tell the person they would die or have accident.Only my gran perhaps because they didn't get on so well!
He told us, I don't think he would have had many friends or clients if he went around telling them I dreamed you died!!

Years ago when younger dd was still in the buggy,I'd gone to meet my father in york City centre

Dd was clutching this massive toy dog that she'd conned me into buying the day before from the charity shop

My father needed to go to a shop near york minster for some reason (I seem to remember it being some book shop)

I was stood waiting for him to come out when I saw a small girl, aged about the same age as dd (who was about 2 and a half/3 at the time)sat in a window sill and she was sobbing her heart out (second one I've seen through a window!)

When he came out,I asked if he'd mind keeping an eye on dd and this huge dog so I could let her parents know that their child was upset

He wasn't happy at having to have dd for a minute (hes not the best with small children) but agreed as this girl seemed so upset

I wandered up to the door, knocked and when they answered, let them know about their dd

'Oh,you've seen her too then?'

It seems a lot of people have seen her-york was hit badly by the plague and they would lock up any house who's residents had it but would bring them food (I seem to remember my father saying something about locking them up for 40 days and a cross on the door)

Shes often seen, crying in that window and staring at people to help her

My father says that my dd had dropped her dog,so he went to pick it up and by the time he stood up again the little girl had vanished

He's the least woo person I've ever known but we both saw her

She's well known apparently-lots of people I asked have either seen or heard of her

I really do think there is something to the “stone tape theory “ where events ( perhaps of extreme emotion) are recorded and replayed through time
