To ask if anyone has seen ufo, ghost, fae?

I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

Agreed zov ..we need to hear more woo n spooky experiences 👻👻

OK I have quite a few, but am always reluctant to post about them, but here's one...

In the area my aunt used to live, she started working for a new company (in the 1980s) that had a new-ish building on some old land that had been bought for new development, after being overgrown and derelict for many years.

All was OK, but some of them noticed (after a few weeks in the building) some weird smells outside, like the smell of hair singeing, pork cooking, and the smell of fabric burning. Didn't seem to be anything about that was causing it, and no-one could see anything, or find anything.

Long story short, after several months, they looked into the history of the land the building had been built on. It turned out it used to be a witch-burning point, where a number of women had been burned at the stake several centuries earlier. 😱

Sent a chill right through me when she told me. It was 35 years ago she told me about it. I've never forgotten it! (She left the company after about a year, so I don't know how long the 'weird smells' went on for!)

One interesting story is that when he was the CO of a Naval Air Station Eric 'Winkle' Brown

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Brown_(pilot)

Saw a 'UFO' grabbed a Fighter and chased it.

He of all men should know what he was looking at but didnt!

I saw what I think was a UFO about ten years ago, north oxon. A normal plane was flying over my home, this us usual as we are in the Birmingham flight path. Well, following it, but what I felt as quite a bit lower and at the same speed of the plane was this blue/ turquoise oblong shaped object. Rather like a bullet. It had four long windows, two on the top and two below. I tried to call my partner who was working in the next town to get out and look but actually this thing was heading west, not East. I think I was just in a tizz.
I've only told one person as it sounds so strange. I also remember spending loads of time searching on the internet pictures of UFOs to see if someone else had seen one similar.

@MasterBeth I don't think you're angry but I do think you're very arrogant. You think you're better than everyone on this thread and must educate us. I was a little bit like you in my younger years so I recognise the behaviour. I am diagnosed with Asperger's. I think Einstein was quite 'woo' wasn't he? As was Carl Jung. And you must agree that they were probably more intelligent than you or I.

I think it's the height of arrogance to think that all the smartest people who have discovered so much about our lives, our planet and our universe are wrong about everything because you thought you saw a ghost or a fairy. It's arrogant to think you know better and that you can't be wrong or mistaken because "you know what you saw."

That's fascinating! I also have seen things in the sky that I couldn't explain. Only 3 or 4 times in my lifetime, but still, really strange things... Including strange lights in the sky, that were not aircraft or lanterns or fireworks.

Exactly. We know what we've seen / heard. Give it a rest now.

@findmeaunicorn My sister was a nurse at a really old hospital. She has loads of ghost stories from her time there.

So did my mother. She worked in somewhere that had been an asylum.

justasking111 · 29/07/2025 21:30

The charity I worked for bought a huge old building built as a sanitarium for workers with chest problems from working in the quarries. Anyway when the builders came to refurbishment the basement for offices and storage they would see glowing orbs floating around the corridors. The locals knew all about the orbs from stories going back decades. A few of the crew still refused to work down there after seeing them

Our local hospice was newly built on land that was part of the old abbey. At night nurses and staff have seen monks walking around.

Our cottage hospital was converted from the old workhouse. When it was demolished a lovely small development of houses went up. A friend bought one. A lot of people living there have heard screaming, moaning. Which was unexplainable. That's been put down to echoes from the workhouse.

I experienced poltergeist activity growing up and the experience has stayed with me all my life. Until you live through something like that, it’s really hard to understand how if effects your life.
I am very open minded now about people’s experiences with seeing ghosts etc. My parents, rarely talk about it as it had such an impact on their lives (typical 1970s mum and dad)
it changed us really as a family

Sorry to hear this, sounds awful. What sort of things happened if you don’t mind me asking? Did you get an exorcist / holy person in? Do pray to Jesus / God to ease the effect of those memories on you all 🙏

@justasking111 thank you for sharing all that! (About the sanitarium, hospice, and cottage hospital.) Wow, that sounds quite terrifying!

I once saw the ghost of Sarah Brocklebank in york
She lived in york at micklegate bar,her father was the gatekeeper and on her 7th birthday, someone mislaid the keys to the gates to the bar walls
They ended to homeless and she spent the rest of her life looking for them, before dying and she's often seen around york, still looking for the keys
I know what I saw-my ex saw her too

I've also seen my best friend in my kitchen,on the day of her funeral

I often ask my darling grandad to send me a sign and within the day i see or hear something that he loved in life

I was once sat on my sofa (not in the house I live in now) watching TV,when an orb (about the size of a footbal) came down from the ceiling, hovered and vanished

My dd was about 9 when she was in bed asleep
I was just getting into bed when I heard screaming
She'd woken up and I couldn't calm her down for ages
She said a 'Mr with a bad eye, sliver hair,a dodgy fingernail and no feet was stood in my doorway'
It must have been my grandad (who died 5 years before she was born and my mother withheld all pictures from us out of jealousy and spite)
He was blind in his left eye,had silver not grey hair,an accident at work left him with no finger nail on one finger and had really bad feet
It was a comfort that he'd come back to watch over her

My two boys once needed the toilet in Hull and the nearest ones where in the prospect centre
They where at that age where they where too old to come with me into the ladies, but would fight/mess about in the gents (I seem to remember they where aged about 5/6 and 7/8)
I sent them in with firm instructions to 'go in,do what you need to do,wash your hands and come out'
I'm standing outside with my foot in the door and in they went
I could hear them but not see them
All of a sudden both shot out, white faces and pure fear written all over them
They said they seen an 'old mr with army clothes and wooden crutches with one leg'
We got the hell out of there and back to my exs flat with me promising to Google it once we where back
It is built on an old hospital (either ww1 or ww2-i can't remember) and treated wounded soldiers-quite a few had limbs blown off
I asked ds2 (now aged 25) a year or so ago and he swore that they'd both been telling the truth-theyd gone into one toliet cubicle together and locked it behind them
The lock and started to slide open by itself and that scared them so they'd come out and saw him,he seemed to be wispering something to them, but they panicked and ran out to me
He did admit to neither washing their hands but just ran to the door but didn't admit to this at the time as they thought I'd send them back in!

The theory does hold. Your individual circumstance doesn't disprove a general theory.

I mean, that's kind of the point...

Yes @Gobacktotheworld I imagine there is a lot of people who are anti vaccine who believe in the paranormal, and a lot of people who DO vaccinate who believe.

Whether you're vaccinated or not makes naff-all difference to anyone's beliefs in the paranormal. (No matter what any silly source or 'study' claims.) 🙄

Anyone who says this kind of thing is just trying to throw shade on 'believers.' Like 'oh ha ha, I bet you're anti-vax, flat earthers too haha.' Hmm

The irony of some people believing every word of any random article they see, yet poo-pooing the beliefs of people who believe in the paranormal. Wink

What did sarah brocklebank look like?

Blonde, almost pale yellow ringlets, very pale skin, blue eyes and a white dress
If you google 'ghosts of york' on YouTube, there is a video about her
It's about the second/third story in
I stumbled on it during lockdown and almost fell off my sofa-they put a picture of her in the video and it was the little girl I saw (I saw her crying her little heart out and in the YouTube video she was smiling)

I'd never heard of her either until I was watching a YouTube video (id been watching something else and this was the next video that came up)
Apparently she's well known in york (I lived there for the first 37 years of my life and I'd never heard of her/nobody else i asked had either)
She's often seen at mickelgate bar and around york, just looking for those keys

I used to work on a stud farm on the outskirts of London. Riding the studs was a daily occurrence for me and we'd travel onto surroundings fields, some not owned by the farm owner but we could use them.
While on a ride on a winter morning, me & the girl I was with were shocked to see a guy in very old fashioned clothes charging from a thicket of trees on a huge chestnut horse! There were no major routes a horse could get through on the other side of those trees - hedgerow and a road up a bank.
Went across straight in front of us at a 90° angle no more than 30 feet in front and vanished into huge tangle of impenetrable bramble bushes
It last around 20 seconds. We could hear his horse snorting but the ground was frozen so hoof prints would've been hard to see - if there were any to see.
I looked at the other girl ... WTAF!?!
We immediately knew this wasn't normal and asked the owner when we returned. She'd never heard anything about this area being haunted .

Look up his clothing and the leather bridling of the horse online. Nearest I found was early 17th century but it didn't quite match what he was wearing.
There were a number of old estates and manors - now long demolished in the area, so perhaps he was a resident of one of those 400 years ago?
