To ask if anyone has seen ufo, ghost, fae?

Morecoombe · 26/07/2025 22:07

I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

Why do you attribute these experiences to an "entity"?

It was done with energy. Specifically, kinetic energy. Energy can't be created or destroyed, only transferred. Energy was therefore introduced to the events from an invisible force. Said invisible force is the "entity".

MasterBeth · 29/07/2025 13:08

Gravity and magnetism are invisible forces but they are not entities. Air pressure is an invisible force and is not an entity. An invisible force does not imply an entity.

As soon as you said "a Mr" I wondered if you were in Hull! 🤣 I lived there for a few years and I have never heard anywhere else use that term!

Prospect Centre is known for hauntings isnt it?

Does the white supremacist still work there as a security guard? I really hope not.

I don't know about a guard-wed only nipped in to go to curry's!
I'm from York but my ex lived in Hull and we used to go to see him
'Mr' is what the kids said-they where white when they came out-ive never seen them so frightened
Ds swore it was true-i can't say either way as I was on the other side of the door listening in as they had form for scrapping if they got too close to each other!

I saw Sandy, my neighbour of 25 years in a cash & carry store 10 years ago. Nothing strange about that. I knew she had a membership card for the store and I'd often bump into her there. She was standing very still, without a trolly and unusually without her husband. They literally went everywhere together. I assumed he'd gone off to get something in the store and she was just hanging around waiting for him. She was just the other side of the freezers from me (about 5ft away) and I looked at her for a while waiting for her to see me. At that moment something slid off my very full trolly and I stooped to pick it up. When I got back up, she was gone - absolutely nowhere to be seen. I continued shopping and was very surprised not to encounter either her or her husband. When I got home, another of my neighbours knocked on my front door to tell me that tragically Sandy had been found dead by her husband that morning. I know it was Sandy I saw. I'd known her for years and she was very distinctive looking - being only 4ft 7in tall and with slightly balding hair.

Anyone follow Professor Abraham "Avi" Loeb? He's a theoretical physicist at Harvard. He's on a mission to prove that there's life out there in the Universe.

justasking111 · 29/07/2025 14:18

It's our understanding that's limited not the universe.

I keep an open mind

We had a few very strange months in our house last year. When I was in the kitchen I could sense someone walking up behiend me, it was like I could feel the footsteps and I was so sure someone was there I would start chatting, assuming it was my DH. Me and DH have seen someone walking behiend us in the reflection of the kitchen window (obviously not each other). Seen things move by themselves. My DD(2) was very aware of something, she was always a great sleeper but during this period was very unsettled and whenever we tried to settle her she would talk about a man behiend us. She referred to it as Daddy 😭. I stepped into the house one night with the girls and all of the lights went out, then flickered madly for a while, washing machine etc stayed on. Something strange like this would happen every day. I wasn't scared until one morning I was woken up by my husband getting up, walking around the bed, then the landing and then downstairs. Rolled over and he was still there of course 🙈

blobby10 · 29/07/2025 14:45

Lived in a rental property once and heard someone coming up the wooden stairs and along the landing whilst I was in the shower - thought it was DH home from work early but no one was there. When we left, DH went back to repaint a wall that DS had crayoned on and said he heard all sorts of movements and noises from upstairs, felt the hair on the back of his neck prickle and couldn't get out of there fast enough!
At work (a house built in 1895) someone/something keeps slamming doors - its not the wind and the doors are old and heavy so need some force behind them. Even if all the windows are open and its a windy day these two doors don't blow shut. But they do occasionally slam first thing in the morning when only one of us is here. I've also heard several bangs from upstairs as if somethings been dropped on the floor but there's nothing on the floor when I go to investigate. When my office was upstairs, I used to catch glimpses of someone walking past my door but there was never anyone there. I put that down to tricks of the light Grin
It makes me feel unsettled but not scared by any means - the living are far more terrifying than the dead Grin

I haven't experienced it myself, but there are lots of documented accounts of crisis apparitions like this.

Loving this thread btw. I've had many odd experiences in my home over the past 18 or 19 years. One time I was in the bathroom, standing at the sink, brushing my teeth. I was alone in the room, and the door was bolted and the window shut. I felt something very lightly touch my calf (I had a nightdress on so lower legs were bare). Looked behind me as a wipes box - one of those purple and green Kandoo ones - dropped to the floor behind my feet. This box, which was empty at the time, had been on a corner shelf which was five feet away from the sink. It wasn't anywhere near the edge of the shelf, and it didn't "fall" off the shelf and "bounce" towards my leg, as has been suggested, because I would have no shadow of a doubt heard a plastic box landing on the tiled floor from a height. That didn't happen, as I said the first I knew was when it touched the back of my leg.

This was a far from isolated incident, odd stuff still happens to this day. I've never been harmed or felt threatened though.

The greatest shame on threads like these are people who position themselves as the resident sceptic, shitting on people’s experiences. It’s always the same, and really drags these threads down.

It really does. If you see a thread like this, move along. It’s simple. Why keep pissing over what people are saying. Just so full of anger ‘

I love a woo thread, it’s a shame that a couple of PPs who clearly don’t have any interesting stories or experiences to share have found and derailed this one so viciously.

I don’t know why posters are entertaining it. Just ignore her

Gravity and magnetism are invisible forces but they are not entities. Air pressure is an invisible force and is not an entity. An invisible force does not imply an entity.

Gravity, magnetism and air pressure cannot be responsible for the lateral movement of wooden/ ceramic objects in a stable environment.

Exactly. Why go looking for something you disagree with then jump on the thread to argue with everyone. No one knows for sure, either about ghosts or the existence of God. It’s all belief and faith. If you’re intelligent enough you might even be able to understand why others think and feel differently to you. Some people are just angry and fancy a fight for the sake of it

Cappuccino5 · 29/07/2025 15:46

There is a small WW2 military grave/memorial in a field near our house. I was driving at dusk along the adjoining back road one evening when I saw a lone man, dressed in full old fashioned military uniform looking down upon the grave. I did a double take as he was completely alone with no car etc sitting nearby (it’s very rural and the access road isn’t walkable). Even thinking about it is giving me the chills but I soon realised that this was not in fact a real man, he was see slightly see through with a strange mist around him.

It’s an area known for paranormal encounters - something about ancient lay lines as there is a Stone Age fort. Safe to say I no longer walk the dog there and even 10 years on I still refuse to drive that road unless it’s daylight!

Will try to keep long story short. I neither believe nor disbelieve in spirits, but this has really made me think.

In the last two years we have had two new neighbours. Out for a drink with one of them and she asks me if the previous owners of her house had ever mentioned a presence in the house (I think the house was probably built in the late 1960s/early 70s). They never had. She said that ever since she had been there she had always felt there was someone else with her in one of the bedrooms. Also a different smell to the rest of the house. She had mentioned it to the other new neighbour, who I don't know very well. Neighbour No 2 said she was some sort of medium and offered to go into the room. She said there was a spirit there of a man wearing a leather apron and she had asked him to leave. All well since then. Different smell gone. Neighbour No 1 had never felt afraid, just that she was not alone.

Purely by chance last week I bumped into my old neighbour in town. We went for a coffee and I said, you'll never guess what, and related the story. The room in question had been her son's room. She said they had never experienced anything and we had a bit of a laugh about it.

Last Saturday I had a call from my old neighbour. She had seen her son that morning (he is now married with two children) and jokingly said did he know that his old bedroom was haunted. To her shock he replied yes! He said that he had sensed a presence many times and for some reason he always pictured in his head a man with a leather apron. She asked why he had never mentioned it and he said he thought he would be ridiculed by the rest of the family. However, he had been concerned enough about it to speak to our local vicar at the time who came and said a prayer in the room whilst my friend was out.

New neighbour and old neighbour met once, on moving day, and the son had never met them.

Even stranger. Back in the day, the site where the house is used to be occupied by the village blacksmith/farrier. We are now trying to find any old photos of the village that might show the forge/blacksmith.

Make of that what you will.

That’s the type of story that I love. Where coincidence would just be a real stretch.

I’d love to hear if you ever find out more!

I grew up with poltergeist activity so I am very open minded. I'm also a scientist so very sensible and good at ruling out the mundane when presented with a strange occurrence.

There was literally no other explanation for the things I saw.

I experienced poltergeist activity growing up and the experience has stayed with me all my life. Until you live through something like that, it’s really hard to understand how if effects your life.
I am very open minded now about people’s experiences with seeing ghosts etc. My parents, rarely talk about it as it had such an impact on their lives (typical 1970s mum and dad)
it changed us really as a family

These types turn up without fail on these types of threads, gracing us poor gullible idiots with their oh so superior cynicism and intelligence, supposedly fearful of dimwits falling prey to charlatans, when in reality people - this thread at least - have just shared their personal experiences of strange happenings, not handed their money over to crooks. It really does get rather 🥱. As pp have said, best not to engage. 🤷‍♀️

Mobile phones have been around a long time now, as have Ring cameras and household video cameras. You'd think there would be ghost videos of phenomenon all over tikTok....

I mean I can’t personally vouch for their veracity but there are thousands of such videos of paranormal activity all over sm.

menopausalfart · 29/07/2025 18:31

@CharlotteLightandDark I'm sure the last thing most people think about, when they see something that scares the hell out of them, is to record it.
And yes, there are millions of videos out there of ghosts, UFOs, cryptids.

I see no anger! Personally, I hate seeing people being taken in by supposedly paranormal phenomena which have been rationally explained repeatedly. And I have seen people being duped and financially fleeced by mediums and psychics and so on- the less questioning happens the more people become vulnerable and likely to be taken in by pseudo science.
