Malnourished starving children in Gaza

babyproblems · 26/07/2025 06:42

The photos that appeared this morning on my news updates of mothers holding their children, dying of starvation and extreme malnutrition in Gaza have absolutely broken my heart. I am not particularly news focused, of course I’ve followed it all but this morning it has stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away. As a mother of a 3yo DS who is sleeping peacefully in his bedroom, whilst we have a fridge full of food downstairs and a life of peace, I feel so sorry that those poor mothers and children are living this hell so undeserved and also so so lucky we have the peace we do…
I don’t really know what the point of my post is; I suppose I’m screaming When Will This End inside and want to tell everyone to not take the freedom and peace we have for granted; use your right to vote and use your privilege to make informed choices that steer the world away from conflict towards peace…

Sending a handhold to all the mothers’ whose lives are not being lived in peace and whose children are suffering 🕊️💔

Anyway I should stop posting on here it's making me too angry. Some posters on here should be deeply ashamed of yourselves. The things you have been saying and justifying are truly reprehensible.

The girl in the previous story linked to was born to a woman and her husband in a concentration camp "Although the sexes were segregated, Anka managed to meet secretly with her husband and she became pregnant".

This is an exceptional case, this was not a regular, everyday occurrence in those brutal camps. How many more of these “miracle stories” do you intend to keep pasting here?
What are you trying to prove? That churning out children during war and starvation is not entirely dumb and selfish?

Lighteningstrikes · 31/07/2025 16:58

It’s so sad.

How ‘human beings’ can do that to innocent children is reprehensible.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 31/07/2025 17:00

I'm not saying or justifying anything beyond the fact that it's odd that someone would to continue their expand family while despairing of the fact that their current children are starving. And that the idea that this is just what people do in a conflict situation doesn't stack up.

Leypt1 · 31/07/2025 17:10

Thread immediately infested with genocide deniers, well versed in deflect, deny, distract tactics whenever anyone tried to call them out on their crazy. You're on the wrong side of history and I hope it hurts when the penny finally drops.

I would if I was you . I’m just watching an American doctor describing the situation as barbaric with children dying in front of his eyes. It is hard enough to watch that without listening to mothers on here justifying or denying that it is happening. There is not one thing you can say or one bit of evidence you can put forward that they are going to consider. Their only interest is to show the Israeli government/soldiers in a good light . Do yourself a favour x

What on earth are you blathering on about? How has this poster taken British tax payer money from the NHS, the education system and road infrastructure?

You're just lashing out and spouting utter nonsense because your views are indefensible.

You can keep declaring that there is no genocide, that babies and children in Gaza aren't starving, that the photos of starving children are fake, that there's loads of food and that the all the women are fat but apart from the handful of posters spouting similar abhorrent rubbish, nobody believes you.

I'm sure many thousands of British citizens would happily fly to Gaza and help, if it weren't for the fact that anyone helping the Palestinian people will be targeted and shot at by Israel.

Did you know that Israel has banned fishing in Gaza?

This is such a dumb argument because when people actually try(freedom flotilla anyone?) the Israeli government stops them. It's almost like they have something to hide.

Radioundermypillow · 31/07/2025 18:23

They've stopped perfectly legitimate aid distributors going in, so doubt they'll let a n old English woman in.

Tbh that post makes no sense for lots of reasons

I think there comes a time when we have to realise that some people don’t want evidence or reason. They have their narrative and they will stick to it no matter what, tying themselves in knots to avoid the truth. They can follow far-right jokers and spread conspiracy theories and will continue to deny reality even when the history books finally report the full pain and suffering.

I have been on various threads about the situation in Gaza and have had constructive but challenging conversations with people who would describe themselves as ‘pro-Israel’. They dispute various things but have never truly played down the pain and suffering of the Gazan people and the fact that Israel has done things wrong. They have made me be more critical of sources and think carefully about what the ‘truth’ might be. This thread has been dragged to particularly low levels and I think anyone who argues with evidence, sources and general respect for other humans (on both ‘sides’) should dip out. Leave particular posters to have their hatred documented for all to see and we can move on and debate with people who have an argument worth listening to.

Strangerthanfictions · 31/07/2025 18:32

I hear you so much, there comes a point where politics and religion just don't matter, that point was met a long time ago. There is nothing, nothing about Hamas, the Gaza strip, terrorism, nothing at all you could tell me that could in any way justify the horrific painful needless death of a child, or a mother for that matter or an innocent man, woman or pet for that matter. My heart is broken that this is the world we live in. The little boy wearing a bin bag dying in his mother's arms, the boy who walked 12k for scraps, kissed and said worker and was then shot. The world is broken

I agree - the lack of respect for human life on this thread has been a real eye opener. People living with hate in their hearts - what a way to spend the precious time we have on this earth, laughing and sneering at other's suffering. You can't debate with hate - it festers and it destroys everyone around it.

So well said. Humanity and decency died with those babies left to die alone in an abandoned ICU. The world has changed for the worse. Many years ago people crossed continents to fight for what they believed in, for human rights, now people just change the channel. How many Jewish children were rescued by the kinder transport, kindly strangers who simply took in a struggling child, now we believe that people with nothing but the clothes they stand in are the reason our country is failing. Fucking wisen up, the poor are poorer than ever, and the rich are richer than ever, can you not see it???

I cling to the hope that most of these posters are actually bots. I don’t want to believe there are people walking amongst us who actually think that way.
When the Allies defeated Nazi Germany, there was much hunger and suffering. The Allies didn’t stand back and watch, despite the fact that the Nazi regime was democratically elected. Aid was distributed to the people.

You find all Palestinians scary and frightening? Even the starving children? Even the women? Even the doctors raped to death, or the 5 year old shot hundreds of times with her family dead around her? You’re scared and frightened of all those Palestinians?

I can’t imagine how any human being can live with such a closed mind. How sad for you.
