Malnourished starving children in Gaza

babyproblems · 26/07/2025 06:42

The photos that appeared this morning on my news updates of mothers holding their children, dying of starvation and extreme malnutrition in Gaza have absolutely broken my heart. I am not particularly news focused, of course I’ve followed it all but this morning it has stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away. As a mother of a 3yo DS who is sleeping peacefully in his bedroom, whilst we have a fridge full of food downstairs and a life of peace, I feel so sorry that those poor mothers and children are living this hell so undeserved and also so so lucky we have the peace we do…
I don’t really know what the point of my post is; I suppose I’m screaming When Will This End inside and want to tell everyone to not take the freedom and peace we have for granted; use your right to vote and use your privilege to make informed choices that steer the world away from conflict towards peace…

Sending a handhold to all the mothers’ whose lives are not being lived in peace and whose children are suffering 🕊️💔

I imagine that it's difficult to find condoms under the rubble. You may see Palestinians as animals, responsible for their slaughter and starvation, but they're human beings and human beings need intimacy, especially during times of crisis.

It’s also pretty well documented that birth rates increase in times of high infant mortality.

Comedycook · 31/07/2025 15:41

I was watching a news report the other day and they were talking to a pregnant woman....she said she was having a baby girl. I was wondering if they were still having scans during pregnancy in Gaza? I'm not trying to make any point at all her by the way...I was just interested in how she knew the sex of her baby

OMG, you never run out of excuses, do you?
So amidst the rubble, no condoms, with air strikes and combat around them, with 3-4-5 hungry children, and being hungry themselves, the parents are making more babies because they need intimacy! Oooh! It makes complete sense.

Your posts nauseate me.

Another virtue signalling thread.

We need more of these.

The irony is strong with this one.

It's not me who hasn't presented any credible evidence to back up their opinions. And no, two conspiracy theorists making wild claims isn't evidence.

What’s your credible evidence source?
Al Jazeera, right? 😁

Doesn't starvation impair fertility?

Doesn't starvation impair fertility?

Of course it does, but soon you’ll have “professors” declaring that “during famine people’s need for sexual intimacy creates a hospitable environment for in utero fertilisation.” 😅

Beware the loony conspiracy theorists 🙄

I wouldn't be too quick to label someone a conspiracy theorist because of this, MissyB1 - it's obviously a very different context but I'd have thought we learned something after the countless misleading images which did the rounds during covid

Credible source for what? I've already provided reports from aid agencies, the UN and various papers.

I guess nobody told the Dutch during the hunger winter?

There were children born in concentration camps during the holocaust. People have had children in all sorts of circumstances however horrific if they didn't the human race would have died out along time ago. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-13069586

Well, of course, but on a population level there's a sharp decline in fertility when it is starving. That's why you have found an example of a 'miracle baby', not run of the mill baby manifested as a reflex to a conflict situation baby.

There are starving children in Gaza. I will try and post a link from BBC in which an American Dr in Nassar hospital is inviting Steve Witkoff to come and visit to see those kids (and malnourished staff members), with his own eyes. You will have to scroll down until you come to that particular article. And conspiracy theorists need to ask themselves why an American Dr would invite Trump's middle east envoy to see something that didn't exist??

Trump's envoy in Israel as Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says 91 killed seeking aid in past day - live updates

The ministry says two more people have died of malnutrition, bringing the number of hunger related deaths since the start of the war to 159.

The vast majority of these mothers got pregnant BEFORE being dragged to the concentration camps, not while in the camps. The rest, who got pregnant there were probably raped by either their captors or other male inmates.
I’m sure they weren’t like “this war, hunger and mass murder is the ideal time to bring a child into this world, let’s do something about it Moshe”

It wasn't one miracle baby, there were at least 700 children born in Auschwitz alone! The miracle was that she survived the holocaust. www.auschwitz.org/en/history/fate-of-children/children-born-in-auschwitz/#:~:text=They%20were%20all%20killed%20during%20the%20liquidation%20of,in%20the%20so-called%20Gypsy%20camp%20%28Zigeunerlager%29%20at%20Birkenau.

The girl in the previous story linked to was born to a woman and her husband in a concentration camp "Although the sexes were segregated, Anka managed to meet secretly with her husband and she became pregnant".

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 31/07/2025 16:53

Yeah, of course said that, what would you tell your kid?
