Yes, the red pill nonsense is incredibly dangerous. You have these podcasters saying you can cure depression with going to the gym and that women are gold diggers and men have to look a certain way and earn a certain amount.
These men are spouting the very toxic masculinity nonsense that they in turn blame women for supposedly wanting. It is a disgusting, viscous circle and I was shocked to hear my lovely nephew repeating things he had heard.
When I explained why it didn't make sense and wasn't true he was embarrassed and said that all his friends watch these podcasts and say these things.
I know a few teachers who are struggling with a big rise in misogyny in their classrooms and the boys always seem to be repeating similar sorts of ideas.
Andrew Tate started a wave and the new gen are much more insidious and clever. They are less obvious so young men like my nephew start to listen and don't realise they have been swept away until it is too late.
Things like "women don't like weak men, no woman wants a man who cries, you need to workout and your depression will go away".
Sure exercise can be good for mental health, so there's a tiny nugget of truth. But it is wrapped up in blaming women for men having to be a certain way and giving bad advice to fix it, which perpetuates the problem and hence the anger towards women grows.
