As a flip side to the expensive letdowns thread , has anyone bought anything low cost that’s been good ?
I got a mascara in b and m that’s great on my long blonde but thin eyelashes.
And an ineos hand wash that is actually really nice.

The luxury shower gel from Lidl. Big bottle for a couple of quid and it smells amazing - scent lasts all day.

£22 tower fan in Aldi’s aisle of dreams. Silent, powerful and all round brilliant

Sounds like the perfect "man"? 😁

Currently redecorating and just bought £6.99 carpet cutter, 100% easier and safer than a stanley knife.

Elasticated bands that wrap round your bedding to say what size it is. All my bedding sets are now bundled together; sheet, quilt cover and pillow cases and I know what size it is without having to unfold anything. Have to use American sizing though, but still, they have improved my life.

Would love a link to these... I don't know if its their way of getting out of changing their bedding themselves but sorting out the double and kingsizes is driving me mad.

More links pls.

I have this pegbag and can vouch for its dream like qualities. I really enjoy myself when using it.

I have one of these too, 5 years and still going perfect!

Bluetooth headband, about a tenner on amazon. I play rain noise from YouTube at night and it completely blocks out DH snoring. No longer sleep deprived

This. I brought snoozeband one, pricier but I can sleep anywhere as blocks out light and has own white noise function so dont have to connect to phone.

£15 picnic bag rather than relying on normal backpacks. With the good weather, we are out and about more and save money on food!

I bought some plus sized skirts from SHEIN which I could not buy anywhere else, fully expecting to return them (returns are free), particularly because they cost only £5 to £8 each. They are made of gorgeous fabric and fit beautifully.

Edited

Ooh I'm looking for a few nice skirts, which ones?

£2 Ice cube stick tray from Dunelm. Used to force square ice cubes into bottles of water in summer, and now I save myself seconds every day as I slide a slender ice stick into my bottle!

I have 34GG boobs.
I bought this bra and it was so comfortable I immediately ordered in another colour. Really wide band so I don't get overspill.

USB chargeable neck fan. 3 speeds, portable and easy to find lol 😊Under a tenner.

One of those garden hoses that expand and contract. No more winding up a 75ft hose. Under 20 quid.

A spray attachment for the kitchen tap. I can now reach the entire sink. Why did I not get a tap with a spray thing in the first place, but this one does the job fine. A few quid.

USB chargeable mini lights for the bathroom and landing at night. Motion activated, absolutely brilliant. Cheap as chips.

Which motion lights did you get please ? I tried this but they needed recharging all the time.and it was not worth it

hideawayforever · 15/07/2025 21:56

a fridge turntable 2.99, great for reaching all jars, sauces, no more knocking front ones over to get to the back ones. Just spin it round.
