To think children shouldn’t be naked at the beach?

Been at the beach most of the day and I can not believe how many small children are walking around completely naked. Is this still a thing?

OP posts:

Why else would anyone post this?
and even if the op is "innocent " the sort of grim weirdos posts like this attracts is 🤢🤢🤢

Completely normal in many countries, and I should add there’s nothing wrong with adults being naked either on designated beaches, i personally like swimming in the sea sans clothing

Why not?

Potential sunburn

TonTonMacoute · 09/07/2025 19:13

I’m torn on this, and think little ones look so cute naked - it’s the way they are so completely unselfconscious about it.

DS loved running around naked in summer in our garden, but I was always more careful in public places, more because I know some people don’t approve rather than any fear of paedophiles. I think a lot of people worry about toileting accidents and don’t particularly want to see that!

legolegoeverywhereandnotadroptodrink · 09/07/2025 19:14

ah and here’s me thinking peados enjoy pictures of children being abused. Didn’t realise watching them
play on a beach was dark web fodder

PeapodMcgee · 09/07/2025 19:15

Refusing to cower away and be a victim doesn't equal apologist.

Do you blame women getting attacked on a night out, if she's wearing certain clothes or walking by herself late at night, too?

It is perfectly reasonable for young children to not have to cover up at the beach (excluding sun risk), as we don't live our lives frightened of perverts, nor should we.

LurkyMcLurkinson · 09/07/2025 19:15

I’d be very happy for children to run around naked if I didn’t know how many sex offenders live among us and share images of children etc.

Nobody, young or old, needs to be showing their genitals at a beach.

My eyes were poisoned in Lanzarote I saw a naked man sunbathing in front of everyone. I didn't know it went down like that 😯

Why are you encouraging parents to get their kids run around naked in public

homeless people? I've heard lots of junkies like to hangout in seaside towns.

Everyone talking about predators - you do realise that what your child is wearing makes absolutely no difference?

Not true. I work in this area. A photo of a child dressed in a swimsuit covering their body, legs and arms is much less valuable (when circulated online) than one of a child naked.

Peados come in many forms

Sadly, it is. Any photo of a child naked is of interest to them.

momtoboys · 09/07/2025 19:21

I think a baby's bare fanny at the beach is adorable. :)

I personally don’t have a problem seeing young children naked but I absolutely would never allow mine to wander around naked when anyone could be taking footage / photos to be used inappropriately.

It's a debate, dear, read the title. Report my posts if you are feeling paranoid.

tumblingdowntherabbithole · 09/07/2025 18:45

Which makes no difference to a predator - something I can't believe I actually have to explain that to you!

Are you actually for real? You seem to be very smugly knowledgeable. I completely disagree with your dismissive answers. Naked genitals are very arousing and stimulating to most men and I absolutely will NOT have anyone gazing at my innocent children like that.

Its not paranoia theirs some real wrong uns on here

Orderofthephoenixparody · 09/07/2025 19:24

Why does some posters have to go down to the lowest common denominator paedophile or pervert?

The sun was strong in Lanzarote and I was sunburned. There was still women sunbathing topless and children running around naked. Plus a naked man sunbathing Infront of them. I hate sunbathing and children should be protected from the sun.

There always have been and always will be.

Let them be young and innocent while they can. That's what parents are there for, to protect their children.

But there haven't always been smartphones. It makes a huge difference.

Oh definitely, but if someone posts "AIBU to think children shouldn't be naked at the beach", anyone of the same mindset can expect to hear the opposite opinion from the 30%, and do so without getting mad and calling people who parent differently, paedophiles.
