For me it's when I'm sleeping in, maybe at the weekend or if I've worked a late shift and I hear cars going past in the morning around 8am and they are blasting music. It gives me a desire to want to slap them. I know they are well within their rights to do so, and therefore I am being unreasonable but I am just convinced they are annoying people inside 🤣 I'm not a morning person. Obviously.

Filling my own car up with petrol.

I fucking hate doing it. Annoys the hell out of me.

I know I'm unreasonable, it's my car and my responsibility 😂

Spelling mistakes in professional or commercial materials. To me, it suggests a lack of care and due diligence and discourages any further interest.

Same, plus those people who like to tell you that these things don’t matter any more, and that only nitpicking old pedants care.

voice messages. I found voicemail annoying enough, but then voice messaging was invented.

people wanting to talk in the morning.

people eating with their mouth open.

People who leave the empty toilet roll out when there is a bin very close by.

People who start a new but same shampoo/shower gel/cereal before the old one is finished.

Oh God yes, I used to walk a dog & his owner would often leave me voice messages about the dog on her walk. Just random 10 minute musings which could have been condensed into a 2 sentence WhatsApp message!

People using chatGTP. Especially for the dumbest of reasons.
It used absolutely crazy amounts of water, I don't think it should've ever been made available to the public.

The water is all in closed systems though. Like your radiators. The water goes round and round.

Some is lost in vapour and can't be recovered. Also, an insane amount of electricity goes into cooling that water down 😔

The use of the word "slice" to mean "piece", as in "a slice of cake". Makes me shudder. Totally irrational but God it annoys me!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 09/08/2025 18:33

American voices on radio or TV ads in the U.K. They put me off whatever product it is, which is VU, I know.

People who don’t have their means of payment ready when they get on the bus. They faff around, holding everybody up while they scrabble around in their bag, and then (if paying by phone) take forever locating whatever card they’re using.

Now this is something I can relate to. Utterly unreasonable to think anything bad of these people and yet I’d do it too. Is it the routine?

It's the routine, it's the organisation, it's the fact that it's ocado, it's the fact that's it's 9am on a Saturday morning which is somehow more twatty than say, a Thursday afternoon.
It's the fact that they have been doing it so long that they know the drivers by name and it's all "hello Jim, hello Mary, oh it's you this week is it? How are the kids he he yes, we do look forward to you bringing our cream buns every week" urgh, just piss off.
It's also because I just know they buy the same exact things every week.
And it's probably something to do with the fact that I also just don't like them much, their poorly trained dog is loud and annoying and they have that "we've been here the longest and have some sort of imaged authority over the rest of the street and we are very important and love attention" air about them.

Mostly unfair and irrational.

My holiday for not coming quickly enough. I'm finishing work Thursday evening and leaving home at 5am Friday but I want it to be Friday NOW even though I'm exhausted from an almost sleepless weekend - blooming alarms going off for no reason so I have to drive 12 miles each way to check for burglars and reset the sodding thing as I'm a keyholder - and haven't packed or got anything ready yet.

People hanging things wrongly is a major bugbear for me too. However, I am sorry to inform you that your method of hanging boxers is also wrong. The fabric is thicker at the waistband so your peg contacting here will delay the drying process. Upside down and peg over the bottom of the leg bit. We discuss this a lot at my house.

Edited

Same in ours.
Husband is a waistband-hanger.
It makes no sense... the thickest part needs to flap around in the wind to get dry...

Carol, the weather woman on BBC Breakfast. Don't know why ... but I get the rage every time she comes on my screen.

me and husband made up an entire back story for her... its gone on for years, and has no basis in reality 😂

Someone near me is having a party, the music is on full blast. I was working in the garden enjoying the sun when the shittest music starts blaring out.

Firstly who has a party on a Monday and secondly put some decent music on (at least the other house that does it at the weekends plays decent music).

God i wish it would start pouring with rain 😡.

Honestly, enjoy the build up. When you're on holiday the days will fly by & before you know it you'll be back home & wishing you were back there!

When I'm in a rush to leave the house, putting my shoes on or holding lots of things and my bag slips off my shoulder 😂instant rage

The air fryer beeps when the timer is done an unnecessary number of times and it doesn't stop even when you open the door. I take great satisfaction in cutting it of its pathetic beeping by turning off the socket.

Currently we have no toaster so I'm having to use the grill and I have about a 2 second window to get the toast before it goes from bread to charcoal. Drives me insane!

When the roads are busy I think for fuck sake where are you all going. Fully well knowing I'm contributing to the congestion.

My biggest one is speedbumps. I have certain types that I hate and will drive a long route to avoid them. I hate the ones that are single humps and usually there's 3 across the road, but especially the ones with the sharp edges where you can't line the car up to go over them properly. Instant bad mood

okydokethen · 11/08/2025 20:46

When the fridge beeps at me if I’m cleaning the bloody thing out

blobby10 · 12/08/2025 09:15

@ConnieHeart I know that's what I should be doing and I'm angry at myself for not doing it Grin Slightly less exhausted today so this evening will be crossing things off my To Do list and starting to pack Grin

I know, the build up can be quite stressful. I don't know how I managed it when the dds were v small. Now I just try to leave the house clean & tidy ish & trying to remember what I need to pack but I refuse to stress about it. I get nervous excitement the day before we leave but once I'm our the door the holiday has begun!

the80sweregreat · 12/08/2025 10:02

Today it is this heatwave which will goes on all week and I want it to just FUCK off and leave me alone.

deeahgwitch · 12/08/2025 14:33

L’oreal lipstick cases.
Unlike other lipsticks, the lid has to be put back on a certain way so that a part that juts 🙄 out fits into the groove made for it on the other end.
Needlessly stupid design and irritating.
I will not buy a L’oreal lipstick now because of the lipstick case lids.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 12/08/2025 15:06

People who pronounce words that end in 'thing' as 'think' - 'somethink', 'everythink' etc - so bloody annoying.
People who use the word 'super' in front of normal words 'super exciting' 'super helpful' blah blah blah - so irritating.
Also, just lately, I've come to get really bloody annoyed about the fact I've been doing housework/washing etc since I was 13, I'm 51 now and it's never going to stop is it? I even get annoyed by the washing machine's cheery tune that tells me it's ready to be emptied!
I may be just irritable and arsey these days though!

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 12/08/2025 15:08

Oh, I've just remember one more - I sell on eBay, I have over 5000 positives, no negatives, I sell the same type of thing every time, and STILL I get people telling me to make sure I package it up properly. I feel like telling them to read my feedback where people compliment me on my packaging and the quality of my items.
Why do people feel the need to explain to me how to do something I've been doing for several years now, and very well, I might add?!

I hate it when people pronounce "th" as "f", as in "everyfing". It's becoming more & more common. Even my well educated friends do it so I'm pretty sure it's me that's unreasonable. Still drives me mad though
