For me it's when I'm sleeping in, maybe at the weekend or if I've worked a late shift and I hear cars going past in the morning around 8am and they are blasting music. It gives me a desire to want to slap them. I know they are well within their rights to do so, and therefore I am being unreasonable but I am just convinced they are annoying people inside 🤣 I'm not a morning person. Obviously.

Oh yeah, I hate emphasis on wrong words or parts of words in songs. I can't think of any prime examples but I know Alanis Morrissette used to be guilty of this

For a similar reason I fucking hate that song Meet Me In The Middle that rhymes 'middle' with "liddle" ie "little". If they'd made it rhyme with Lidl it wouldn't be ao bad,
eg "Baby, why can't you just meet me in the middle
Or maybe you could meet me in Lidl..."

Edited

Jeez, who would want to meet in Lidl for gawd's sakes!?

Isn't that the place that most self conscious people usually go in with their hoodies up & shades on, and then pack their grocery shopping into M&S food grocery bags at the till !?

I mean just imagine what the neighbours might think Hyacinth!? 😉

ThatDaringEagle · 06/08/2025 08:36

Able bodied, capable people ( I.e. not oldies , farmers or learner drivers) who insist on driving in single lane roads at say 10-15mph under the speed limit.

Not slow enough to warrant medium paced drivers to pass them, hence the whole road turns into one long , slow snake train.... and usually their blissfully unaware that they're slowing everybody else down.

incredibly inconsiderate, when they have no excuse not to drive at our near the speed limit!! Grrrrr😡

Maybe used to be like that but ain't no shame in it these days

My dog not eating his breakfast.

My dog is a bundle of neurosis and always has been. I generally mollycoddle him, but this morning I was not in the mood.

One of the things that he does is eat his kibble from his bowl, then sit back and wait for me to wiggle the bowl, then he will eat another bit ... and it goes on and on and on until he finishes it. Normally I am OK with this, but this morning I was feeling the rage and I ended up taking it from him when there was one wiggle amount left and said 'you obviously aren't hungry'.

I am now at work feeling like a shit.

TwinklyFawn · 06/08/2025 17:38

My mum's endless monalogues give me the rage. I don't know how she can drone on about her broken nail for 10 minutes. I also get the rage when my cousin fails to read my messages properly. I always tell her not to get me bath bombs for Christmas. I always tell her something that i want. Yet she has to get me bath bombs. What part of i don't want bath bombs is hard to understand?

Doyouknowdanieltiger · 06/08/2025 17:51

Having to parent my children ALL day.

Wake up, feed, clothe, go out, come back, lunch then still 6 more hours to kill 🫠

I love them to bits but 3pm onwards is torture.

One of my cats is a bundle of neurosis too, I mollycoddle him and occasionally snap at him then spend the day feeling guilty so you aren't alone

Doesn't help that he has one of those faces that always looks sad.

When men don't offer their seat on the train or tube to standing women.

Sounds of people eating.

Bad grammar.

People at work expecting me to, well, work!

It also really pisses me off when people park on the pavement so that people with pushchairs have to walk in the road.

YES. It also affects elderly or disabled people, who can't easily weave their way in traffic.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/08/2025 22:40

My dad used to be a special constable, and one day he was in the police station, talking to the sergeant, who was a friend of his. A very angry lorry driver came in to complain that some stupid woman had told him off for parking his lorry on the pavement so she had had to push her pram onto the road to get past him.

Midway through his rant, he pointed out of the window and said “There’s the stupid bitch now!” - to which the sergeant’s reply was “Oh - you mean my wife!” The lorry driver shrunk, gabbled something and left pronto. 😂😂😂

I walk slowly due to a hidden disability. I will step to the side sometimes so people can overtake me but it is potentially an abelist thing to get annoyed at, just saying.

I think you have missed the point of this lighthearted thread. It's not all about you.

Other people's bad driving. Especially when they don't have right of way around parked cars but just barge through anyway and I have to stop for them even though it was my right of way and they should have stopped and had time and space to do so. It incenses me far more than it should and I know I should just get over it because clearly some people are too stupid/selfish to be on the road and it's nothing I can control so I shouldn't let it bother me. But arrrrrrrgh.

Same! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Empty restaurants when I want to experience a good atmosphere along with my food. It really pisses me off how other people don’t align their meal times to mine.

Slow walkers and slow drivers, and actually any other pedestrians or vehicles being out and about at the same time as me and getting in my way…move!!!

Headphones on in public. Rude!

People talking and dithering with staff when at the front of the queue. Come on, there’s other people waiting behind you, move along now!

I rage when my DH talks with his mouth full. He purposely waits to speak after he has loaded up his gob just to annoy me.

When being told a mobile phone number, it being recited wrongly

It should be “07654 321987”, and not fucking “076 5432 1987” …

WTF is that about? It’s makes me fume and laugh at the same time as I know I’m being ridiculous 🤣

Or when you're telling someone over the phone your mobile no.

Me: it's 0575...
Them: (long pause)
I then start to say the next bit and they say "yeah...." at exactly the same time. So I don't know if they have heard the next bit so I say it again and it turns out they did hear so they now have 0575 242 242..... so we have to start again... !

Amy437 · 08/08/2025 16:58

People having their phones on loudspeaker like we all want to hear their conversation!!

SparklyEmeraldShoes · 08/08/2025 17:05

People munching apples. That awful wet crunching. They should either be forced to eat them in private, or slice them first like I do.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/08/2025 17:13

Spelling mistakes in professional or commercial materials. To me, it suggests a lack of care and due diligence and discourages any further interest.

LauraP94 · 08/08/2025 18:03

People sniffing! Just blow your bloody nose. Especially irritating when it’s early and I’m on the train into work.

comeandhaveteawithme · 09/07/2025 14:08

The people across the road from me. They get an Ocado shop delivered at the exact same time every Saturday morning and for no reason at all it irritates the shit out of me.
I just sit there, sipping my morning coffee, see the van pull up, shake my head and mutter "twats".

Now this is something I can relate to. Utterly unreasonable to think anything bad of these people and yet I’d do it too. Is it the routine?

Ginnygi · 08/08/2025 18:39

People using chatGTP. Especially for the dumbest of reasons.
It used absolutely crazy amounts of water, I don't think it should've ever been made available to the public.

@ConnieHeart you’re exactly the kind of person who boils my piss - when it comes to mobile number recitations!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

RobertaFirmino · 08/08/2025 19:12

Certain regional accents really irritate me. That's unreasonable in itself but the fact I have a regional accent myself, one which grates on many, makes me doubly unreasonable.

Yeah but I don't like to read out too many numbers in one go! 🤣

seven201 · 08/08/2025 21:10

voice messages. I found voicemail annoying enough, but then voice messaging was invented.

people wanting to talk in the morning.

people eating with their mouth open.

People who leave the empty toilet roll out when there is a bin very close by.

People who start a new but same shampoo/shower gel/cereal before the old one is finished.
