Favourite lazy arse dinners

As per title. Tonight I have a plate of pasta (fusilli) with butter melted through and cheddar cheese on top. Teaspoon of lazy garlic mixed through with the butter. When I’m being less disgusting I melt butter and a little garlic into the fusilli, add tuna or chicken and basil, and squeeze a lemon over. But the ultimate lazy dinner is literally a heap of pasta covered in cheese.

What are your ultimate lazy arse dinners?

I saw someone on SM recently having 'boujie' beans on toast - on sourdough toast, topped with mature cheddar and a sprinkle of chopped red onion.

The red onion really makes it extra yum.

On Co-Op's cheese & chive sourdough, it's just delish.

Lazy dinner for me is a pack of koka noodles or cereal. A level up lazy dinner is a jacket potato or an omelette.

Cream of tomato soup and toast

My favourite meal in the world is a tin of Heinz spaghetti Bolognese. My family want to disown me for this but I care not and I am definitely going to try it in a garlic baguette now. Thanks for that superb suggestion. I am excited now!!

Tonight after swimming: Tin of Lidl baked beans to which I add: chili flakes, Turmeric, black pepper and mixed herbs all topped off with a full (Lidl) Mozarella ball 😋
I couldn't even be bothered making any toast and it was just as filling.
Big mug of Yorkshire decaff to found it off.

Hard agree. Last night I went extra and crumbled a bit of feta on top as I had it in the fridge left over from a posh salad

I love that these are proper lazy arse dinners and not the usual mumsnet ‘lazy’ that are more effort than my usual ones!

my contribution is a packet of microwave rice with a tin of mackerel in spicy sauce stirred through.

usually 2 slices of 50/50 bread (as long as there’s enough for the lunch box sandwiches) with a good layer of butter then chicken super noodles. You can’t get the whole pack in the sandwich so I eat the left overs separately!

It was a cheap student snack but remains one of my guilty pleasures on the rare occasions that I’m home alone. If that happens to be an evening then I’ll wash it down with a cold glass of Sauvignon blanc! Very classy 😳

Iceland chicken skewers (there are several varieties) done in the air fryer - 12 mins - with a pouch of golden vegetable rice and a tomato on the side. This is a lazy family dinner.

For just me - McCain HomeFries from the air fryer with spicy mayo. This was tonight’s supper after a really lovely roast lunch.

There’s a good cookbook called The Roasting Tin with this premise, I think!

@Endofyear I like Idaho mash ( love it) on top of Branson baked beans with cheese on top and melted in oven for a few minutes - then HP brown on it

My favourite thing when I’m alone (because DC won’t eat it) is pasta with (chucked in a frying pan while the pasta cooks) chopped bacon, cherry tomatoes, artichokes and a ton of black pepper. Grated cheese on top. Might be a bit too much like proper food for this thread but to me it’s lazy.

Cool chicken/vegan nuggets. Chop up romaine lettuce, toss with Caesar dressing then Chuck on a wrap. Add nuggets and eat!

Either that or cheese omelette with sliced white bread and butter. salad if I can be arsed.

I also really like rice with butter and soy sauce (since reading the book “Butter” it has stuck 😂) also nice with an egg on top.

On my worst days of parenthood - instant noodles with a handful of mixed frozen veg, topped with grated cheese.

The girls loved it, and I felt so guilty 😂

These days, for me cheese with oat biscuits and an apple, for DD2 baked beans.

We have recently discovered cheeseburger fries. Skin on chips in the oven.,add burgers. Serve with cheese sauce and onion. Salad on the side

Sausage sandwich/crisps.

Prosciutto, melon, hummus, crackers/bread sticks, grapes.

Cheese and crackers.

Beans on toast with either curry powder or chipotle stirred through.

Cheese on toast with a slick of whole grain mustard (and maybe a bit of 'naice' ham) under the melted cheese. Mango chutney or chilli jam on the side.

Quick Macaroni cheese, using a tub of supermarket fresh cheese sauce stirred through cooked macaroni and topped with grated cheddar/parmesan and sliced toms then browned in the oven/air fryer. Maggi or tomato sauce optional.

Cheddar and set honey sarnie on white bread or bacon and marmalade on toasted wholemeal (admittedly, I'm usually the only taker for these two).
