My parents hated Mary Berry with a passion that I could never quite understand.
They were of a similar age - mum died in 2021 aged 93 - but every time she’s on the television dad strikes up about “that bloody woman”. The only thing I’ve thought is envy; when Mary was giving the nation recipes in the early 70s mum was stuck at home with two small children.

This just reminded of my late gran who had a dislike of Martine and said she was a talentless social climber! I’ve no idea how she formed that impression, but I’m posting on her behalf as she would have loved MN had it existed back in the day!
