Secrets.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 29/06/2025 16:07

Nothing but (dry) air and loft insulation.

TeenToTwenties · 29/06/2025 16:09

We've converted ours to a bedroom.

In my parents' loft there is 60 years worth of stuff. I was recently getting some spare bit of flooring down which had been up there since circa 1980!

shellyleppard · 29/06/2025 16:10

My secret son.....🤔🧛🤣

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 29/06/2025 16:10

Christmas & Halloween Decorations mostly.

I tend to keep boxes for expensive electricals so they go up there. Theres some keepsakes from my childhood and from when my dad died up there in a box and a box of old photos from the pre-digital age!

shellyleppard · 29/06/2025 16:10

Lego boxes and Christmas decorations

WTDress · 29/06/2025 16:11

Suitcases, Christmas decorations, clothes (DS1’s to pass to DS2 plus my fat clothes for when I inevitably end up fat again 🤣)
there are probably some old toys up there that I kept for DS2 but forgot about.
Too much shit TBH.

lordmadresfield · 29/06/2025 16:11

Camping stuff. Christmas decorations. Halloween stuff - costumes and dressing up props. Suitcases. That’s about it.

TartanMammy · 29/06/2025 16:11

Suitcases.
Christmas tree and decorations.

Halloween decorations.
Toys that my DC have grown out of but I don't want to part with just yet.
Fans, get brought down in the summer put back in the winter.

alexalisten · 29/06/2025 16:12

I dont know iv never been in it for all I know there could be a whole other family living up there

afaloren · 29/06/2025 16:12

Seasonal decorations, memory boxes, suitcases. As far as I know. I never go up there! That’s DH’s job and I stand at the bottom of the ladder to grab the boxes as they come down/pass them back up.

My mum’s has got about 100 photo albums of people she doesn’t like anymore!

BitOutOfPractice · 29/06/2025 16:12

I haven’t got one. Downsized from a 4-bed house with a loft, garage, shed to a 2 bedroom flat. Got rid of 95% of loft stuff. Not missed any of it. Never been happier.

GenerousGardener · 29/06/2025 16:12

Aqualisa shower gubbins and loft insulation.

ScottishSheepie · 29/06/2025 16:13

My youngest son 😊 ( it’s converted)

CoastalCalm · 29/06/2025 16:13

Nothing , we had so much in the loft at old house that sat there years and ended up at the tip we decided not to put anything in new house lost - have got racking in garage instead and the stuff sits there instead

Talipesmum · 29/06/2025 16:13

Much less than before we converted it! We do have an eaves storage still though. It has Christmas and Halloween decorations, some suitcases (ones we use, not abandoned forever), 3 or 4 boxes of nostalgic childhood things (ours! includes a box of uni files with dissertations etc), two boxes of kids baby / toddler toys that are the “keep for the grandchildren / visiting babies” ones, couple of larger toy things like bat castle, garage that still come out for visiting kids. Also the large room fans for the hot weather, and a couple of bags of grown out of kids clothes that I go through about every year or so and charity / pass on.

susanandlucypevensie · 29/06/2025 16:14

Suitcases, Christmas and Halloween decorations (not the tree, we buy real)

Everything else like camping stuff etc we keep downstairs as we have two giant walk-in cupboards

Tagyoureit · 29/06/2025 16:14

Xmas decorations
DH's vinyl collection
Stuff I've forgotten about so will sling or sell when we next move.

Ive just cleared my dad's loft and the was so much stuff up there, sold some bits at auction and got £120.

Purplebunnie · 29/06/2025 16:16

Everything and the kitchen sink😂

Umpteen bags of Christmas, Halloween and Easter decorations. My DD's old toys, stuff that "may be useful" one day.

I ask DH every weekend to bring a box down so I can go through it, as I am terrified of the loft ladder.

And to be fair a lot of it is my DDs stuff but she lives in a teeny, tiny house and doesn't have room for it so we've got it

outerspacepotato · 29/06/2025 16:17

I have a nice exercise setup with rower and weights and mats, a tower fan, a comfy chair, a large table to cut fabric on, a chest of drawers for winter clothes storage, and some moving boxes I'm storing for eldest who just moved. The boxes will be gone soon.

strawlight · 29/06/2025 16:17

Christmas decorations and a couple of big storage boxes of memories. That’s it. My parents loft was an absolute tip, no way I’m going down that road!

Sophiehoney · 29/06/2025 16:17

My four blond headed children.

But only until my dad dies

I bet you look very youthful!

CarpetKnees · 29/06/2025 16:18

Suitcases
Christmas decorations
Other Christmas things (like Nativity costumes and Christmas jumpers)
My wedding dress
My Mum's wedding dress
Hats (from various weddings)
A box for each of my dc with things like their certificates in or the odd painting or card I thought would be amusing to keep.
The sledges.
