Wow things are escalating to levels I don’t know if we are prepared for. But Mossad are no fools so must be confident in their actions.

Are you sure? Israel can do as it likes with impunity. Iran is a bit further away , unlikely to be a ground invasion.

Yes, I'm sure. If you don't attack israel, Israel doesn't attack you. It's not hard.

It's a great time to attack kill people. Just wow.

I think it's more a great time to get rid of iron's ability to create a nuclear weapon.
Thank God!

I don't agree with what Israel has done in gaza. In fact, the attacks on Iran show that Israel is capable of minimising civilian casualties even for the highest value military target.
But the trigger to what has happened in gaza was the brutal hamas attack.

Mysterious terrorists? Now, that's a very telling turn of phrase.

Two thoughts

We have to get rid Iran’s nuclear capabilities!

True, but Israel’s sick of of threatened by these evil bastards!
To them, it’s game on!

So who decided that the UK and America get to have nukes but Iran can't.
If they want them and can make them.........who appointed us world police to say they cant.

I mean, USA, it's not as if it's run by a complete fucking maniac and his maniac lackies or anything. That's a fab country to be armed to the teeth with nukes.......

That's just the way it is. Us, for all its faults, is still a democracy. Shame we let north korea get nuclear weapons, it restricts what south korea can do to protect itself. Iran is of the same ilk and threatens israel and the gulf states the way north korea threatens south korea and Japan.

"We let"
"Just the way it is"

Absolute Western entitlement. And a great way to piss off countries in the middle east. Which does not make us safer.

It's not up to us to impose Western democracy ( which is a fucking ironic term given that Trump bought the Presidency) on countries that never were Western democracies and don't want to be.

They are as entitled to have nuclear arms as we are.

If we feel entitled to have them then they feel entitled to have them. And they are. So long as nuclear weapons exist in the world then no country is more entitled to them than any other whether you approve of them or not. Abd they will develop them by whatever means. That's not naive. That's fact.
Telling them "they can't" because the West is Billy Big Baws or somehow entitled to them and thinking they will just say "Oh ok then the West has spoken " is naive ( and arrogant) in the extreme. It will and has and lead to burning resentment which inevitably leads to death and blood shed, with or without nukes .

They don't need to be western democracies. Just stop threatening to wipe out other countries. You might not think it makes you safer but it does.
You want north korea and iran to have nuclear weapons. Im sorry that n korea has and glad that Iran will be prevented. I think the world is safer with a non nuclear Iran.

I think the world is dangerous with a nuclear USA.
The most armed and corrupt country on earth whose "democratic" process was subverted to return a corrupt sex offending lunatic as president , who is systematically dismantling all legal checks and balances which might keep him from absolute autocracy.......and you think that is a country which is safe to have nuclear weapons but other countries aren't.
Right. That seems reasonable .

Iwantaparkingspacenow · 14/06/2025 02:15

For those of you who may not know, Israel has a nuclear arsenal itself.

So it's a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

The Israeli government doesn't want Iran to have what they have for themselves. A nuclear weapons pile that they developed in secret and don't admit to having.

So, we have one rogue state attacking another rogue state and claiming the moral high ground!

I know which pariah state, which commits war crimes, which bombs women, children and non combatants sheltering in tents, that I'm more concerned about if this conflict between Israel and Iran continues and escalates. The one that starves a population and bombs hospitals and aid workers against the rules of war as stated in the Geneva Convention.

The one with the nuclear arsenal, that is, Israel. Whose government with it's actions sink further every day into brutality.

Well, of course a non nuclear world would be lovely. It'd also be nice if we all sat together and sang kumbaya.
I don't think adding nuclear weapons to north korea and Iran is a good idea and if a country is directly and existentially threatened by this (you know, like Iran's leaders literally saying 'death to israel) and they have the power and ability to prevent said country obtaining nuclear weapons, then makes sense that they will to protect their own citizens. Shame south korea couldn't prevent this from north korea in time. They should have.

When has israel ever said it wants to wipe Iran off the map?
Israel keeps nuclear weapons as counties around have many times threatened to wipe if off the map.
Iran is responsible for the deaths of far more Arab civilians than israel if that's what concerns you

So it's a nuclear world
And while it remains a nuclear world regimes you dont approve of will feel as entitled as the West to have them and will take whatever steps they can to get them and ultimately will get them.

Go figure

It's not up to me. I don't approve of Russia either but here we are.
What i said is that it's understandable that countries directly and existentially threatened by another country obtaining nuclear weapons, with direct threats by leadership of said country, would take steps to prevent it.

Yes, and countries that are deemed unworthy of nukes also feel threatened and will take steps to prevent it .

That's right. Of course, the question is who is actually threatened? In the case of North Korea and Iran, one can argue that no one wishes harm on the civilians of these countries and, indeed, their own people do not support the regimes. The nuclear weapons are sought to secure the regime, not protect the people.

But, yes, indeed, countries that feel threatened for whatever reason do take steps to prevent it Whether that's justified is anothe question.

I'm not pretending that it's not an all round tragic situation, within a very complex conflict. I'm certainly not the one inferring that Hamas terrorists don't exist.

Hamas terrorists are being used an excuse to commit a genocide of the Palestinian indigenous people.

Theres nothing complex about it. But keep silent and do nothing, and the same will happen when one day us lot are the new victims of Israeli arrogance.

The fact that you don't believe the long standing conflict is deeply complex, explains why you see no nuance - it's just black and white to you. I'm finding some of your posts offensive and I am not Jewish. The simplicity of your statements are undermining much history. History, about which, you are clearly ignorant.
