It doesn't make the US look weak or powerless, I see it more as the US tried to negotiate to avoid Israel attacking, but Iran being the hot heads they are dragged the talks until Israel attacked.

If the US went down the military route first we would be calling Trump a warmonger who wants to start WWIII, yet he tried negotiating whilst also making it clear that Iran will NOT be allowed to build nuclear weapons and we also claim he is weak and powerless. He made it very clear to Iran that he is willing to work with them so they either go down the path of negotiations or the path of destruction and I guess they choose destruction.

I am actually happy that the US is not involved in the strikes yet they benefit indirectly from a weakened Iran. Let's see how things go with Iran's response and if this will escalate into a full war or not.

I think not because Iran was already in a weakened state before this attack and the attack caused a lot of damage so they may just retaliate with drone and missile strikes to save face many of which will be stopped by the iron dome rather than launch a full war on Israel.

The Jordanian military announced that they shot down some of the Iranian drones that entered their airspace en route to Israel, so does this mean Iran will also retaliate against Jordan?

Iran is also insisting that the US was involved in the Israeli attack so does that mean they will attack one of the US military bases which will require a response from the US. The risk of this escalating continues to increase by the hour.

If Iran attacks a US military base it will be one near maybe in the UAE which means the UAE will also need to respond to an attack on the US base but on UAE soil.

Any why exactly would they do that? When has Israel EVER attacked a country that has not threatened or attacked it first? When has Israel EVER attacked a country with which has a peace treaty?
There is a dispute with the Palestinians and an occupation which needs to end somehow. That's one thing. They are the only ones who actually have a legitimate grievance with Israel (albeit they have quite a bit of blame for the situation too). All the rest - Israel wants nothing from them other than for them to leave Israel in peace. Certainly Iran. There is NO dispute with Iran other than Iran having an issue with Israel's very existence, hassling israel through its proxies and constantly threatening to wipe it off the map.

Iran can hardly hold its own even just against Israel. That's why it preferred to "fight" using its proxies. Indeed, Iran was prepared to fight Israel until the very last Arab. I doubt they'll want to bring Jordan, the UAE and the US into the fray.

Indeed, I doubt there are even many Iranians who'll want to fight to preserve the IRGC. Many of them actually support Israel's actions.
