Bad news. You'll have enjoyed any number of dinners in the vicinity of equally odious creatures and been blissfully unaware.

This. Going by the views on some threads, some of them are on here.

Oh dear. I see the knuckle draggers have arrived. The gift that keeps on giving with enthusiastic stupidity.

Careful what you wish for. The fight for equal rights for women in the UK has been long and hard.

Tommy Robinson, however brash, challenges the establishment who are doing their best to cover up the rape gang scandal where thousands of underage British girls were systematically drugged, tortured, raped and abused by men of non-british origin, from a culture where women are seen as second class citizens and brides are often forced to marry, and become fair game at the point of puberty.

The government are trying to cover it up because it blows their 'multiculturalism is always good' argument into the weeds, and because this all happened on their watch, usually in Labour council run areas, often with local councillors and police complicit of ignoring the underage victims trying to report their rapes to the authorities.

The reporting of Tommy in the mainstream media is dis-honest and ons-sided in the extreme, and those who believe what is said about him in the press really do need to listen to the other side of the argument, from Tommy himself, to see what has actually been going on. I suggest you listen to Tommy's interview with Jordan Peterson, or Ezra Levant for a start.

Only having done this are any of you in a position to comment on that which most of you so clearly know absolutely nothing about.

100% this! You know there must be some truth in what he says, with all these repeated attempts to silence him. After all, if it's 'nothing', why try to hide it?

But it's not "just" anyone's opinion, is it - it's the law which imposes the relevant boundaries.

Still not getting it.

The far right are suspiciously in favour of rights for women when it comes to criticising forrins.

They're also suspiciously against VAWAG when it comes to forrins but not when it comes to them. Robinson has been described as "very nasty and misogynistic".

Just to add, freedom of speech is one of the most crucial parts of a democracy. If you really believe in these principles, you have to accept that you will hear views that you find offensive.

But freedom of speech means freedom of speech for everyone. The staff are also free to express that they don’t want to serve him. Yaxley is not having his right to freedom of speech removed. They just want him to take it elsewhere. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences, as Tommy/Steven/Dave/whatever his name is has already found to his cost. And freedom of speech does not mean that everyone has to agree with you and support what you say.

The "attempts to silence him" have been about him persecuting a child, being a thug and trying to ruin an important court case.

Right? And that deserves an 18 month custodial sentence, including extended periods in solitary confinement? Hmm... OK then.
Just seems that few people care about 'child persecution' when he's the one talking about it...

Problem with Robinson is that he courts publicity. I agree with some of his arguments; he just goes about it the wrong way.

He was in solitary confinement for his own safety. He has been persecuting a refugee despite various injunctions and was jailed for it. He's hardly covering himself in glory.

I certainly wouldn't serve a Christian who was a convicted football hooligan, espoused racist views, incited violence and whose criminal record included kicking a police officer in the head because he intervened in a domestic abuse incident.

Establishments can and do bar people for their behaviour, public image or even their choice of clothing all the time. If a nightclub can throw you out for wearing trainers, I'm pretty sure a restaurant can throw you out for being a total cunt.

Charming language, what a classy person you are....😒
Don't work in hospitality as you'll be picking and choosing who you'll serve 🤣

Edited

But who else is talking about it? The Hamas sympathisers seem to want it all brushed under the carpet.

Katypp · 07/06/2025 08:02

I believe passionately in free speech, regardless of what the person is saying.
I think it is pretty disgusting to refuse to serve someone because you don't agree with their views actually, but sadly we seem to be quickly losing the ability to co-exist with people who don't think the same as us (see threads about not speaking to friends because they vote for Reform etc)
I don't support Tommy Robinson but that's by the by and is my opinion only.
I wonder if the pps so supportive of thus ban would feel the same if someone they agreed with was banned? They are blinded to the point of the question because they don't like TR

Well we've seen watching GB News renders you a racist, with the most diluted reasons. Tolerance only works one way.

Everyone is jubilant now because they dislike him but next time what if it someone you like/agree with politically that is publicly being thrown out?

I feel the same

So do I. I wouldn’t give him the time of day. And restaurants have the right to refuse anyone. But this still makes me uncomfortable.

Jujujudo · 07/06/2025 08:37

Echobelly · 06/06/2025 23:39

I don't perceive many people are doing this (yes, some are) but as a Jew I actually find it pretty offensive to compare people objecting to Robinson to unjustified prejudice again Jews from people who have no concept of what views Jews they are being prejudiced against may hold. But by all means keep digging that hole....

I have no idea of what point you’re making. But denying my feelings isn’t helping. It’s very easy to understand my simple point: Jews are being targeted, victimised and killled because of their perceived political alliances. If we live in a world where that openly happens then it makes sense that a restaurant would refuse service to a man they don’t like/agree with. It’s becoming acceptable to treat people badly because you think their opinions and beliefs are bad, or not like yours. Please stop arguing with me. It minimises the difficulties me and my family are facing - and many other Jews/Israelis around the world.

There was a study done which showed that right of centre people listened to opposition and debate, where as left leaning folks didn't listen to the other opinion and just shut debates down.
I didn't believe it at the time but I see it more and more. This is a prime example.

How do you know the staff's political affiliations? Why should they listen to some far right nut who encapsulates intolerance for the sake of tolerance?

If you seriously think being a Jew is equivalent to being a neofascist, you need more education than anyone here can possibly provide.

Er, have you been reading mainstream and social media lately? Have you seen how Jews/Zionists/Israelis are referred to and treated? Words/things I’ve been called this week alone (I have an obviously Jewish name): baby killer, colonizer, genocide supporter, eternal victim, hooked nose liar, Rothschild’s spawn, Zionazi, IOF soldier, ethno-fascist, occupier. I was also told TO MY FACE that it was no surprise that “you people” had been kicked out of 109 countries, and that Hitler should have finished his job. This persons’s friend then refused to give me my order, and told me that she had a friend in Hamas and would make sure we were targeted on their “next paragliding mission” which she claimed would be “on my local synagogue”.
I’ve reported more of these posts on FB and Insta and not one has been removed.
I’ve stopped wearing a star round my neck, I’ve changed my accent, I don’t allow my children to speak Hebrew in public and we don’t ever go to places with a high number of Muslims there, simply because we are sitting targets the moment that they somehow identify us as “Jew/Zionist/Israeli”. Hell, I had to change dentists because the dental assistant was wearing a badge with “From the river to the sea” written on it. Which incase anyone isn’t aware, is calling for the ethnic cleansing of 8m Israeli Jews.
I swear if anyone of you start arguing with me or justifying mine and my children’s lived experiences I will report your post and continue to do so until you understand that there is NEVER any justification for racism, open hatred or cancellation.
Finally, yes, TR is abhorrent - but people have treated me worse than I’ve ever seen him behave. So you think he’s Islamophobic? So bloody what? People are racist, hateful and disgusting towards others every single day. We all need to grow up and self reflect instead of judging and vilifying.

No, not “so what” if he’s Islamophobic.

It is as bad to be Islamophobic as it is to be antisemitic. There is no right or wrong racism or persecution, it is all bad.

I don’t believe the way you’re being treated is acceptable, but it’s not any worse or better than attacking a Muslim for being a Muslim.

I wouldn’t want to be in Tommys company, because he’s a racist idiot. I wouldn’t want to be in the company of any of the people you’ve just described either, for much the same reason.

Dangermoo · 07/06/2025 09:09

@jujujudo It's not considered trendy enough to support the Jewish community in the fight against antisemitism. Nuance is always conveniently available. The disgraceful experiences you've shared should be hitting home to every bleeding heart liberal who pick and choose their crusades.
