To take 7 year old to BDT Hyde park Sabrina Carpenter?

I bought tickets to take my kids to a sabrina Carpenter but am getting concerned that it's not a great idea to take young kids to an event like this. Has anyone done BST concerts with small children? I realise there's no seating but thought could arrive late... should I just abandon the idea altogether?

Have you ever seen her live shows?? Not really appropriate for children.

AlorsTimeForWine · 31/05/2025 22:36

Imo its a terrible idea

WFHbore2023 · 31/05/2025 22:36

I don’t think it’s the crowd that’s the problem.

it’s a pretty raunchy show!

Trovindia · 31/05/2025 22:37

Her shows are sexually explicit, definitely not suitable for a seven year old!

HermioneWeasley · 31/05/2025 22:37

Having seen her at the Brit awards there is absolutely no way I’d let a 7 year old go. Personally I wouldn’t let anyone under 16 as a minimum

PullTheBricksDown · 31/05/2025 22:38

Haven't done this type of concert but it sounds like it would be hard with young kids. I would sell them on. Twickets is legit and you'll get what you paid back.

FromTheFirstOldFashionedWeWereCursed · 31/05/2025 22:38

Hmm. I would have taken DS (then 9) to the Eras Tour but I wouldn’t take him to BST Hyde Park - I go most years but there’s no seating at all and the crowd is packed pretty tightly so your kids won’t see a thing. And if they do, Sabrina Carpenter’s shows are pretty raunchy.

Ddakji · 31/05/2025 22:38

I can’t comment on her show specifically but if you’re in the general standing area almost certainly you won’t be able to see a thing. DD has been to BST twice, once in general standing and once golden circle. She did enjoy the general standing one (where Sabrina Carpenter was supporting BlackPink, funnily enough) but she couldn’t actually see the stage at all.

Moreindecision · 31/05/2025 22:41

Eek, OK. Hearing you loud and clear, I think i should sell the tickets on. Glad I didn't tell the kids! Thanks all

Regardless of who you have booked to see (Sabrina Carpenter not appropriate for a 7 year old IMO), a 7 year old will see nothing at BST Hyde Park. It's flat, hard enough to see if you are of average adult height

Ddakji · 31/05/2025 22:45

It’s such a shame when artists who surely know they have lots of young fans do unnecessarily explicit shows. There’s no need for it.

I don’t believe Sabrina ever signed up to be a role model for young children. It’s up to parents to monitor what content their children consume, not the artist to make their set child friendly.

You will end up like the family in front of us at Taylor Swift. Mum obviously really into it dad and late primary aged son visibly bored dd about 7 tried to go to sleep put head on mums lap etc. After 15 mins dad took both children away. What a waste. Mum should have gone with a friend.

a LOT of her songs are sexually explicit so really just listening to the album would be enough to tell you that her show isn’t aimed at younger audiences.

I never said she did. But if your success is built on having quite a lot of younger fans, why not just stage a show that all can enjoy? I mean, does anyone lose out from a show that’s not raunchy?

Fair enough!

Absolutely not appropriate.

Because her songs are literally all about sex.

Yes, I’ve gathered that from another poster!

Why do you think her demographic is "younger" fans? Just because she sings pop music? She's 26 and hasn't been associated with Disney for nearly 10 years so her younger fans should be in their 20s. She's 3 years older than Billie Eilish.

Edit - I am genuinely interested in whether people think she's brand new and young because she is so petite!

AmIHumanOrAmIAYeti · 31/05/2025 22:56

Did P!nk at Hyde Park with DD at 12. Wouldn’t do it with a younger child. It was horrendous.

What? I’m confused. Her fans can be any age, and she can have younger fans who never saw her in Disney - her stuff is played a lot, yes? I don’t think DD, who is 15, ever saw her in Disney, she knows her as a pop star.

TheaBrandt1 · 31/05/2025 23:05

I would be judging a parent doing this.

MarketSt · 31/05/2025 23:08

Have taken mine to BST but in the VIP section so we weren’t in the crowded part and could actually see.

that wasn’t for Sabrina Carpenter.

My tween daughter quite likes her music but knows she isn’t old enough for her shows. Not for younger kids.

But Sabrina gets this all. The. Time. Oh, she must know she's got younger fans, she should be more family-friendly. So does Olivia Rodrigo but her songs are full of swearing, so does Chappell Roan but her biggest hit was inspired by dancers at a strip club in her home town. Even Little Mix had a whole song comparing a motorbike engine to sex!
