In case you haven't noticed, my husband is extremely handsome

If anyone can manage to sit through this podcast between Meghan and Jamie Kern Lima, what are your thoughts about Meghan saying this?
And what are your thoughts on Meghan in general after watching her talking with Jamie here?
I don't know if I'm BU but I pick up on narcissist vibes.

the vocal fry of the interviewer is awful. I like IT cosmetics though. M looks very pretty & young. It's so gushy & cringe but that's typical LA.

I was intrigued that it was from newsweek, until I saw it was a list originally compiled by Harpers Bazaar, nope, definitely not buying it now.

Its outdated, ,by about 10 years >

"The younger of British princes has long remained one of the most covetable bachelors in the world."

The example cited as his "peak level of hot" was a charity event in London in which he played handball with local kids in 2017 for the "Fit and Fed" initiative, which aims to give children lunch and exercise during the summer holidays.

The citation describes him as being "now engaged to Meghan Markle" suggesting at least some of the copy may have been produced prior to their May 2018 royal wedding, though the publication date on the article was October 21, 2024."

Buying what, though? That your opinions are not objective fact? Okay, then. 🤣

His attractiveness is subjective, the fact that lots of people find him attractive is not. A quick Google would verify this. Somehow, this thread has made me some sort of stalwart defender of Harry’s good looks for pointing that out. I’m out. 🤣

NotUsually · 27/05/2025 09:00

But she's not saying
"I find H (as she has re-named him) really attractive; to me, he's gorgeous".
OK fine, nobody could argue with that, because that would be her telling us what her view of him is.
What she is saying is
"If you haven't noticed, my husband's very, very handsome".
It's that that I take issue with.
She's telling us that if we haven't noticed, Harry is very, very handsome.

why didn’t you post this on the Royal Family board @NotUsually ?!

Dutchhouse14 · 27/05/2025 09:01

Context is everything, was it said in a lighthearted, tongue in cheek way or was she deadly serious? I suspect the former although I haven't watched the program.
It's nice she thinks her husband is handsome, I'm sure he thinks she gorgeous too!

treetopsgreen · 27/05/2025 09:01

I agree with her point about not trying to prove it but a Brit would just say "fuck it, you can't please everyone". I hate all the "I'm enough", "I see you" language but as I said very LA.

JacquesHarlow · 27/05/2025 09:03

She worded it this way specifically to get a rise from people like yourself.

You have shared her video more widely in outrage, which means she gets more clicks, and she can then command a higher fee in future for more “appearances.”

She has become a professional troll to some degree, but you have become her megaphone or distribution network. Congratulations @NotUsually

It was the first but that what stop the likes of the OP from feeling forced into thinking Harry is handsome 😆

Bananaram · 27/05/2025 09:09

I managed less than 2 minutes.

I thought Harry and Meghan weren't using the Duke and Duchess of Suffolk titles?

Also, that host saying she was wearing no makeup? We can see the blush!

LilPatronum · 27/05/2025 09:09

Canopies · 27/05/2025 08:43

That’s really not the generally held view. Harry is seen (by the general UK population, but very much on international social media) as a hot, fit ex Army dude.

I don't think so, it's an objective fact that Harry is NOT hot, not in the slightest, he has aged very badly. , Possibly on the likes of Celebitchy and Laineygossip, they still try to present him as hot, Meghan;s friend Lainey had him nicknamed Hot Harry on a Horse , but that was 20 years ago, Don't think I have heard her describe him as that for years.

Both Harry and William are bald, there is no getting away from that fact and Harry is more unattractive than William.

I couldn’t give two hoots about the royal family and if this thread was titled that I wouldn’t have clicked on it.

However, this comment made me laugh. Whilst neither are attractive, Harry is the much more attractive one. William is actually very ugly. I think the royal family as a whole are a very unfortunate looking family to be honest. I don’t get the hype at all.

They're using the titles, they're very much into the royal status. She has a crown above her name on her stationery!

TiggyTomCat · 27/05/2025 09:12

A sulky man child doesn't do it for me - but it feeds into her narcissistic personality and so they are the perfect storm.

I'm inclined to think that a title, wealth, status and privilege makes some men very attractive to certain women 🙄

Canopies · 27/05/2025 09:12

, but you have become her megaphone or distribution network. Congratulations **

Just for contaxt, the interview is a few weeks old, it went viral on just about every pro Meghan and Harry and anti Meghan and Harry platform.

It was fawned over by some YouTubers and ridiculed by some YouTubers. It spawned a multitude of memes.

Mumsnet is not a distribution network that would even register on the scale of how it was received a few weeks ago.

OriginalSkang · 27/05/2025 09:14

Since this is in AIBU and not the royal family section, I can fairly say that you're being ridiculously unreasonable to give a flying fuck about this.

Woman says her husband is good looking... who cares!

Clawdy · 27/05/2025 09:16

Just sounds like the sort of jokey remark lots of us would make about husbands!

Agree... William, still has his mothers bone structure and is aging well. Harry's attacks on Williams looks is pure jealousy. I don't find Harry attractive, and MM is beyond irritating.

GinnyCat · 27/05/2025 09:30

Too funny!😂

I have dozens and dozens of friends from my dc's schools and also female colleague friends from different jobs, we tend to have personable open chats most of the time.

I've never ever heard any woman refer to her husband in this way.

Meghan sounds controlling "if you hadn't noticed" and then wants to put the idea out there that Harry is handsome. It's <ahem> unusual behaviour.

Maybe it's a case of if you say it often enough it may become true? 😂😁I'm experiencing second hand embarrassment.

JLou08 · 27/05/2025 09:31

I don't get narcissist vibes, I see a woman who knows her own worth and isn't afraid to say that, a woman who loves her family and is ambitious with a strong work ethic.

Sometimes society only want women to love their family. A woman knowing their worth and being ambitious isn't always received well in a misogynistic society

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 27/05/2025 09:37

Harry looks like his dad - James Hewitt.

TheGrimSmile · 27/05/2025 09:42

Why is it OK to vilify Megan Markle. It's getting fucking boring.

My19thNervousNameChange · 27/05/2025 09:43

Because he is handsome to her.

You are free to disagree.

Don’t try to silence her or choose her words for her though.

Bellaire85 · 27/05/2025 09:44

This video is way more fun to watch when you are drunk

Stravaig · 27/05/2025 09:44

I don't need to watch the clip to know that nothing Meghan Markle says or does is as weird or as worthy of diagnosis as someone starting a thread on a public forum just to put her down.
