Reported guy to his workplace

So in the last house I lived in, the streets were VERY narrow. If anyone parked opposite the house, the entire turning circle space for our driveway was obstructed. Extremely annoying and I had no problem telling people to move if needed
Anyway, a guy on the next street over (not even a resident on our cul de sac!!!) And his wife had a HUGE drive. Could fit 6 vehicles easily. He chose to park his big ass work van in the very place it was an obstruction to 3 separate households. Selfish little man that he was. This was every night for 6 months of the year.
I approached the wife and the man in question who was an extremely aggressive - despite me being polite in the first instance said there were camera pointing at it etc etc - directly into all 3 gardens and 1 family had kids. I told her that I was going to be reporting the cameras to the relevant authorities and if he didn't move his van I would do the same with that. I bought a little camera immediately do I could get any footage as I knew the type of people they were with that interaction.
He then later that night aggressively revved his engine for over an hour......it was caught on my brand new camera that also had audio

The following day, I rang his workplace as did 5 separate neighbours all with footage and informed them that he was being a nuisance and blocking everyone in etc etc - told them of his aggressive behaviour when told to move etc
The next night, no van. The next 6 months it was parked on his drive. I kept the camera and actually got 3 more just in case I had any more issues.
I spoke directly to his boss who said any more issues email immediately- of course he didn't learn his lesson and started getting aggressive again and I then told him 5 sets of neighbours had footage of his behaviour and his employer would be informed. He lost his van after the last incident and his cameras moved.
My question is, was it a dick move considering how rude and disrespectful.he was to half the street?

Bored
OP is actually the perp
Who knows 🤣

I reckon she's been drinking and has set herself off on a rant 🤣

If it was bullying his employers wouldn’t have disciplined him.

I don’t need the actions of an employer ( actions stated by OP btw) to help me work out what bullying is.

Some people can recognise it very easily. Bullies often can’t so perhaps the employer ( if they did what OP said ) is 🫤

He’s a dick but I think it’s pretty poor to jeopardise someone’s employment.

I can’t help but think how awful it would be to lose your job right now.

So don’t make other people’s lives a misery then.

MaidOfSteel · 24/05/2025 22:03

Good for you, OP! Well done for standing up against a thuggish bully.

AndImBrit · 24/05/2025 22:16

Where were his cameras if he didn’t live on your street??

DisabledDemon · 24/05/2025 22:18

Sounds reasonable to me - I don't think that you're odd at all!

I once phoned a scaffolding company because their vans were using all the disabled spaces whilst they were putting up some scaffolding, which took several days. And I phoned and I phoned until they got the message. If that makes me odd, well, I really don't care! Inconsiderate parkers deserve bad karma.

She didn't jeopardise his employment. He jeopardised it by using company property to purposefully cause a noise nuisance out of spite.

There are some real twats on this thread as well as the prat and his works van.
good for you OP, I can only guess that the posters being rude, would be fine with someone 'ruling' their road or being anti social. Or they are like it themselves.

Exactly this! I also noticed how someone piped down when they stopped getting replies. Probably a man who hates a woman standing up to people like him

Oreosareawful · 24/05/2025 22:34

You did exactly the right thing! Only stupid people piss others off with the company details all over their van!
I was once overtaken dangerously on a country road by a twat in a liveried van. I called his employer while I was still behind him and they took my complaint very seriously. They admitted it wasn’t the first time this driver had been reported too.

I think you meant to quote @outingouting. I'm in total agreement with you!

Oh sorry!! Apologies x

Plenty of stupid people out there and plenty that think this behaviour is acceptable. Let's hope they never experience it themselves

If he has a long drive with room to park it, then why was he parking where he couldn’t see his works van?

Unless it was something embarrassing?

Butt Plugs R Us.

Or did he work for BT?

BellissimoGecko · 24/05/2025 22:51

No. It was a good move. He’s an arsehole. Now he knows the consequences.

DontReplyIWillLie · 24/05/2025 22:54

Did the whole bus get up and clap?

Yeah, that’s the vibe I was getting too. It all happened years ago; the OP clearly doesn’t think she was unreasonable… so what was the point of the thread? Just hoping for a bit of cheerleading?

Because they're the kind of family to try and make other peoples lives hard. They have cameras on the back of their house pointing into people's property. Says it all.really

The guy should have considered the possible consequences of using his work van to escalate a conflict with neighbours.

last house? so youve moved since?

he was a CF, you took action and it worked, why bring it up now?

You are funny. You’ve turned the anti-social neighbour who blocks an entire road with his van (including for ambulances and fire engines by the way) into a hero. Go you.

Something tells me if you had the opportunity to move next to this hero, you’d be singing a very different tune.

Boreded · 25/05/2025 01:17

Of all the things that didn’t happen, I think this one happened the least
