Reported guy to his workplace

So in the last house I lived in, the streets were VERY narrow. If anyone parked opposite the house, the entire turning circle space for our driveway was obstructed. Extremely annoying and I had no problem telling people to move if needed
Anyway, a guy on the next street over (not even a resident on our cul de sac!!!) And his wife had a HUGE drive. Could fit 6 vehicles easily. He chose to park his big ass work van in the very place it was an obstruction to 3 separate households. Selfish little man that he was. This was every night for 6 months of the year.
I approached the wife and the man in question who was an extremely aggressive - despite me being polite in the first instance said there were camera pointing at it etc etc - directly into all 3 gardens and 1 family had kids. I told her that I was going to be reporting the cameras to the relevant authorities and if he didn't move his van I would do the same with that. I bought a little camera immediately do I could get any footage as I knew the type of people they were with that interaction.
He then later that night aggressively revved his engine for over an hour......it was caught on my brand new camera that also had audio

The following day, I rang his workplace as did 5 separate neighbours all with footage and informed them that he was being a nuisance and blocking everyone in etc etc - told them of his aggressive behaviour when told to move etc
The next night, no van. The next 6 months it was parked on his drive. I kept the camera and actually got 3 more just in case I had any more issues.
I spoke directly to his boss who said any more issues email immediately- of course he didn't learn his lesson and started getting aggressive again and I then told him 5 sets of neighbours had footage of his behaviour and his employer would be informed. He lost his van after the last incident and his cameras moved.
My question is, was it a dick move considering how rude and disrespectful.he was to half the street?

He’s a dick but I think it’s pretty poor to jeopardise someone’s employment.

I can’t help but think how awful it would be to lose your job right now.

Anyone who needs their job doesn’t behave
like a dick after being warned.

BookWorrum · 24/05/2025 20:37

How long ago was this? You mention it occurring at “the last house” you lived in.

Itdidnttakelong · 24/05/2025 20:38

So you didn’t like his camaras
but then you get 4 in total trained on him?

and I don’t get the timeline… *The next night, no van. The next 6 months it was parked on his drive.*and then there was another incident? Following which his van was completely removed?

OrangeQualityStreetAreTheBest · 24/05/2025 20:34

If he lost his van after the last incident how was it parked on his drive for 6 months?

Ahhhh I see you trying to trick me hahaha

This was an ongoing issue for YEARS til we stood up to the bully. I don't have to go into specifics.

The op has been pulled up for starting a thread that transpired to be about an event from years ago before. The op doesn’t respond well when it’s pointed that probably best to let it go.

He jeopardised his own employment by leaving his work van in a stupid place and revving it up for over an hour in an idiotic display of anti-social behaviour after being rude to someone asking him to move it. Natural consequences.

But hey let's make a woman responsible for a man's stupidity.

First rule of misogyny isn't it? Wink Women are responsible for what men do.

Would you like times and dates???
This is a SNAPSHOT of the shit he's put us through. I'm not writing a novel on it. It's a post on mumsnet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Did the whole bus get up and clap?

He was a dick, but the relish you’re displaying about getting one over on him by encouraging everyone to phone his employer to lay it on thick doesn’t cover you in glory either.

He did that himself being a dick whilst in his work van on his doorstep.

It covers OP in lots of glory. She’s a god damn hero.

This van incident happened years ago didn’t it op? In a property you no longer live at. Correct?

He could have lost his employer a lot of business with his shitty behaviour, he's lucky you went directly to them rather than posted the footage on social media.

What a sad indictment of the modern world

BobbyBiscuits · 24/05/2025 20:45

If five others all did the same then I'd say you couldn't be singled out.

But I'd say it's a little OTT over a private parking issue to have five people calling your employer in the space of a couple of days. It's not related to his workplace.

If I was his employer I'd be thinking you lot were a bit weird, rather than disciplining my staff member.

Edited

I wish I had that Influence boo.
I chose to do it for my own reasons. My neighbours followed suit because they were sick of it too. Not my fault that he's alienated everyone is it?? 🤣🤣 Karma

I thinks it's bloody weird how people report people to their employer. They are not teachers in school you are not children. How supremely odd.

Nope. I’m the first to congratulate people on not being wet lettuces. I just think it’s a bit pathetic to exaggerate a story from years ago to win internet points.

Fair enough. I hope he stops doing it.

Not sure about 'boo' though? I'm not used to being called that by anyone? Hoping it's not meant to be condescending.
