To feel embarrassed about work recognition

I was just named in our town hall for my contributions to a particular project.

I attended a few meetings about this and gave someone advice about some aspects of the project nearly a year ago.

AIBU to feel embarrassed? I did nothing to invite this recognition but I feel like a complete fraud.

And should I confess? I don't even know who nominated me to be recognised. It's so confusing.

Yes

But there is no mention thereafter.

the award op… what is it?!

you keep posting about the award but the OP does not contain the word “award”.

I attended a townhall yesterday. Some people received recognition - I can honestly say I can't even remember a single name. I'm with you, it's a bit embarrassing in the moment, but it's soon forgotten.

You’re overthinking it, op. When a project gets a mention in our company meetings they tend to mention all team members, for fear of one person being left off I guess.

Ive had to go back and read the OP at least 3 times and at no point does she mention the word award. Cannot understand what this poster is going on about. Dearie me..
