To think that Grazia magazine is sh*t

Sorry, v trivial rant on the way...

Honestly, maybe I'm getting old, but I have to rant about Grazia. I subscribed to it last year and am now soooo fed up with seeing with Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston on the cover that I want to puke. And it's full of complete and utter drivel and what are quite clearly lies about our celebrity friends. And they keep sending it to me even though I cancelled my subscription 3 months ago. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP IT! Think I will now put it straight in the bin when it comes in but I can't help opening it in case I see some nice shoes.

Grump grump grump.

Am off to subscribe to Good Housekeeping now. Am clearly an old fart. Maybe it's the pregnancy making me bonkers.

Getting fed up of it myself. Quite like She and Red atm.

3725Hayley · 20/05/2008 16:54

I know what you mean.

I am fed up with Heat Mag. Every bloody week, its 'stars lose weight' or 'stars get fat'........booooorrrriiiinnngggg.

SilentTerror · 20/05/2008 16:58

Actually,my all time fav is Woman and Home!
I like the make over and fashion stuff, even though the mag is aimed at 45+ age group, the clothes are stylish and not at all frumpy.

hifi · 20/05/2008 17:04

i do buy it occasionally, but dont think they have enough interesting stuff to report every week.

poorbuthappy · 20/05/2008 17:19

I hate it too...I get it 2nd hand from my sister and it takes me all of about 30 secs to flick through it...
Makes me sick with all their "green" clothes, pay £500 for this plain white t-shirt cos its been made by a company with ethics! Yeh ok, so how much of the £500 goes to the person who made it?

Lulumama · 20/05/2008 17:21

i don;t buy magazines at all any more. except the odd copy of elle as my cousin writes for them, but i bought it to see her name in it, rather than the fashion.

LMAsMummy · 20/05/2008 17:22

I love Easy Living. But, then, I am very, very dull..........

happystory · 20/05/2008 17:26

And is it me, or are the photos often blurred, or overprinted, or summat? (only read it in the hairdressers, honest)

Confidentialnamechanger · 20/05/2008 17:30

"Eve" is the best magazine, I've had a subscription for the last 3 years and I still renew. Also like She and Red.

Can't bear Grazia - takes about 20 minutes to "read"

expatinscotland · 20/05/2008 17:32

it's shitty shite.

i read it once in a hospital waiting room.

i subscribe to Easy Living and Good Food, and every year my mother buys me a subscription to Oprah's magazine.

poppy34 · 20/05/2008 20:29

agree donutmum -had a sub too for it. Quite liked it at first but between the rotating stories about jennifer aniston, kate moss or angelina farking jolie its dull. And the shoes/fashion too ott.. as for their columnists ....

Quite liked first but that went bust (that was my original sub but got transferred to grazia), agree heat just fat/thin obsessed.. might give eve a try. Have quite liked it when I've picked it up in hairdressers

PuppyMonkey · 20/05/2008 20:36

I hate the way Grazia thinks of itself as a bit of a highbrow read with "serious" newsy articles. But it's still just a dressed up Heat...

turquoise · 20/05/2008 20:37

'Looks' is the cheaper version - I like it for the clothes (actually within my means) and ignore all the sleb shite.

Agree with Confidential, Eve is the best by far, also like Easy Living (though it's been a bit dull the last few issues) and occasionally She or Red.

It's shitty shite, cod.

margoandjerry · 20/05/2008 20:45

silentterror I agree with you about Woman and Home. Is surprisingly good and never a mention of kate effing moss.

SilentTerror · 20/05/2008 22:12

Yes,no slebs in W and H !!
Actually takes me a while to read and I keep some back issues too.
Quite like Eve but think the fashion has gone off a bit recently.Very expensive and often seems inappropriate for their target readership, ifyswim.

MrsMuddle · 20/05/2008 23:10

No, don't get Good Housekeeping. I've just cancelled my subsciption. It's getting more and more dull.

I subscibe to Easy Living, Eve and Olive. I like Red too.

paddingtonbear1 · 20/05/2008 23:16

I used to like Grazia but have gone off it of late. I quite like Eve, and Glamour sometimes. I don't subscribe to anything - just flick through and buy what I like the look of that month!
Used to like Marie Claire but haven't bought that for ages.

ninedragons · 21/05/2008 06:21

Glamour is too full of boo hoo I didn't realise that taking back 300 grammes of heroin in my shower bag from Thailand would get me in trouble stories.

I have switched to the American magazines. Us Weekly and People are far better for telephoto lens pics of celebs picking their noses and digging their undies out of their cracks.

DonutMum · 21/05/2008 08:40

Oh yeah, ninedragons, People is awesome. I actually really like EVE and Red too. So, am now about to call Grazia and tell them (again) to stop the sub. Hey Poppy34, I really liked First too - what on earth happened - there one minute, gone the next.Boo!

grazia is just empty crap for the empty-headed who fawn over celebrity due to looks rather abilities and care about what kind of button is in fashion - am surprised to see any intelligent person pick it up

southeastastra · 21/05/2008 09:02

dunno it had that article about honour killings last year, something i knew nothing about until then.
