Mummy Pig Went Private!

MyOliveHelper · 22/05/2025 09:11

Evie Pig was born in the Lindo Wing even though Mummy Pig has mentioned the COL crisis. I think it was a response to the chronic underfunding and poor performance of the NHS. Saying that, the Lindo isn't infallible.

Did you go private? Would you? Could you?

Bit insensitive of Mummy Pig to go private when her good friend Miss Rabbit works about 28 jobs (including the Helicopter Rescue Service, which Mummy Pig herself has used multiple times) to feed her bunnies, IMO.

This. Yes mummy pig has sold out and lost me.....

If it’s good enough for the Princess of Wales… no chance of her using an NHS hospital and being left in her own blood and vomit as described in another thread.

But equal BIL refused to let my sister go private unless she really wanted to because if his experience (he has worked on various maternity wards, NHS and private)

What the heck is this thread about?!?!

A toddler's TV programme called 'Peppa Pig'. The main characters are a pig family. 'Mummy Pig' is pregnant and they're airing the 'new arrival' episode soon. Exciting stuff!

DisabledDemon · 22/05/2025 23:18

I wish someone would turn that damned annoying pig into rashers. I'd watch that!

Come on Mummy Pig must be racking in the money from all the Merch. I wonder how much is being put into Trust for Peppa when she turns 18. Or will it just turn into another child star goes wild story, with ending up sitting at home snorting cocaine. .

Surely Peppa is in her twenties by now...

GRex · 23/05/2025 06:55

Miss Rabbit has lots of jobs, they have shown cross-over at least with the supermarket, ice cream stall, midwifery unit, helicopter rescue, fire service, taxi, china shop and theme park.

There are ALSO lots of other Miss Rabbits. Mummy Rabbit just has lots of babies. Madame Lapin is in France and very clear she is not actually Miss Rabbit. And about 5 American Miss Rabbits (taxi driver, diner waitress, forgotten who else) join Supertato in the Hollywood film Vegetables in Space to eat all the carrots, after being Peppa on the campervan trip she got from her potato golden ticket.

I heard the little one was born already, but haven't seen the episode.

It's like champagne socialists being proud of using limited taxpayer money to send their children to state schools, reducing resources for children whose parents can't afford private.
For some reason they think they deserve a round of applause!
The NHS was set up for poor people. Rich people just paid for doctors whereas the poor died in the street.

I thought there was research to show when you have a state funded and a private option you essentially create a two tier system where those with money have better care and outcomes than those who have to rely on the state. The systems with the best equality of outcome are where private isn’t really a thing- and they are good outcomes for all it bad outcomes for the rich to match the poor.

if we really want to improve the nhs we need to make the people move go don’t need or care about it care again.

then poor mummy pig would not have had to face this ethical dilemma and public scrutiny

This thread has given me flashbacks to the time I bruised a rib coughing brought on by laughter at "Does Daddy Pig snort when he comes?" on here.

Thanks.

Yep, she's old enough to be carving out her own career now.

She could decide to become a doctor, if that's her chosen path; although that could cause 'issues' for the lawyers of an existing fizzy drink.

Or do the children lose their first names in common usage when they become adults; so would she just be known as Dr Pig on her LinkedIn?

MrsEverest · 25/05/2025 10:53

I work in a health system that has public and private and have long experience of both.

I also have high risk pregnancies and would be extremely stupid to use the private system in these circumstances.

GotToWearShades · 25/05/2025 10:55

I just keep thinking time in the Peppa Pig universe must be a bit like The Simpsons otherwise Peppa and George would be late teens early 20s by now 🤣

I couldn’t afford to go private but I don’t get the judgment for those that do. Surely if we all live the NHS the ideal situation is people who can afford to do so paying for private care, not burdening an already creaking system?!

But she's paying for it using the money she gets exploiting her kids in their reality show, you can bet Peppa and George got NHS or even free births! I see Evie growing up as the spoiled princess, everyone goes goo-goo for babies so they'll probably change the show name to Evie Pig and just show her rolling around and being cute for the next 20 years

Awhh I was so excited to hear about Evie Pig. My DD16 believed she WAS Peppa Pig when she was little. I can’t tell you how many times I visited Peppa Pig World. She had the full contingent of Peppa’s stuffed toy friends. I was Mummy Pig, the ex was Daddy Pig 😗 DD2 was George 😂 It was very cute. And her name is Evie 💕 Like Mummy Pig I did go private. The Portland not the Lindo. The main reason being that I wanted to know who was delivering the babies - 2 C sections - and my insurance covered it. I don’t blame Mummy Pig for going private if she has the money now but ultimately a hospital is a hospital and I don’t think most people want to be in one at all. Paid for or otherwise.

I had Independent Midwives but that’s because I knew I wanted a homebirth and wanted consistent support from women I got to know. It was very clear that the community midwives in my area were not going to provide this. Not in the same ballpark in terms of cost though.

Ridiculous to judge people for going private! They’re helping to take some burden off the NHS. I never get how so many people are such fierce defenders of a system that is so clearly completely and utterly fucked, just because it’s free. If the government provided a free disgusting, mouldy spam sandwich for every UK citizens’ lunch every day I don’t think people would be judged for paying £3 for a nice M&S sandwich that isn’t going to give them food poisoning. Yes the NHS should be free for people who can’t afford it, but people who can afford it should be taxed accordingly so we can actually have a decent system that works. Or there should be more affordable and better equipped private healthcare so more people can choose to go private to take the burden off the NHS. Even slightly risky births are all transferred to NHS hospitals anyway!

PonyPatter44 · 25/05/2025 13:04

I watched all those baby pigs being born on Clarkson's Farm, and the terrible outcomes....so I am an expert on pig farrowing very suspicious about there only being ONE piglet. Mummy Pig, did you lie on the others? Own up!
