Mummy Pig Went Private!

MyOliveHelper · 22/05/2025 09:11

Evie Pig was born in the Lindo Wing even though Mummy Pig has mentioned the COL crisis. I think it was a response to the chronic underfunding and poor performance of the NHS. Saying that, the Lindo isn't infallible.

Did you go private? Would you? Could you?

Mummy pig is a hard working woman (sow?)
Why shouldn’t she spend her money on her own care.

Daddy Pig should be contributing! This is financial abuse.

Bit insensitive of Mummy Pig to go private when her good friend Miss Rabbit works about 28 jobs (including the Helicopter Rescue Service, which Mummy Pig herself has used multiple times) to feed her bunnies, IMO.

I don't think Miss Rabbit has any children of her own, does she? Isn't it her DSis - Mummy Rabbit - who has all of the kids?

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 22/05/2025 10:29

I remember back when Mummy Rabbit's twins were born and the other children were trying to guess what their names would be.

Pedro Pony stood alone in suggesting names that didn't begin with an 'R' and was berated by the other kids for being ridiculous - as everybody's first name must start with the same letter as the animal that they are.

It looks like our Pedro has been well and truly vindicated. Notwithstanding that George Pig had already smashed through the naming barrier anyway!

Aren't the outcomes of complex births (of which MP is at risk of given her age and ahem weight) worse at private hospitals?

True but the Lindo Wing is next door to the maternity department of St Mary’s (NHS) Hospital and there’s a branch of Medivet just round the corner.

Tbf Peppa must be at least 20 now given I was watching it with my oldest when he was a baby/ toddler, he's 19 this year 🤣

There’s about 400 episodes and the theory is it’s an episode a day, so it’s been 20 years human time but only about a year pig time 😂

goforsleep · 22/05/2025 12:37

I do have a bit of a dream - well, out and out fantasy really - that I can go back in time, win the lottery and have my babies at the Portland, celebrity style. As it was, Dc1 was born in Covid and the hospital shop wasn’t even open. When we had DC2, DH was firmly instructed to buy a souvenir teddy!

seaelephant · 22/05/2025 12:58

Styles herself as a working woman of the people, but when it comes down to it, she uses the money she got milking her daughter's fame to fund her own care while REAL working people like Miss Rabbit have to put up with NHS wait times.

Pig is right. Oink oink, mummy.

MaidOfSteel · 22/05/2025 13:02

What the heck is this thread about?!?!

It would to be too scandalous if Miss Rabbit had had kids outside of wedlock.

That's the whole problem with this country - the United Kingdom really is on the slide.

Did Miss Rabbit write The Bing Bong Song?

If so, surely she must be raking in so much income from copyright payments and global online streaming royalties, she never needs to work a single day more in her life?

A lot of times yes there more set up like hotels and not really set up for medical emergencies

Westfacing · 22/05/2025 13:18

Is Piglet premature - I thought due date was in June?

My kids are teens now but I thought it was explained that Miss Rabbit was actually various Miss Rabbits , rather than one doing loads of different jobs?🤔

Same, I thought there was loads of them because you know...rabbits.
I suppose they could be running some kind of backward elaborate fraud where they all pretend to be one rabbit.

Was that not Madam Gazelle?
It must be at least ten years since I watched Peppa pig ,but the names are flooding back to me🤣🤣🤣

I thought Madame Gazelle wrote The Bing Bong Song. Either way it's now going to be going round my head for the next week!

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 22/05/2025 13:27

Ah, yes, it probably was Madame Gazelle who wrote it, actually - I stand corrected.

That explains why Miss Rabbit still has to work 24/7, then!

I did study French at school, but I'm a bit rusty now, after several decades - does anybody know if there's an English translation of what the lyrics mean?

NoNameMum · 22/05/2025 13:28

I had the option of using an NHS run birthing unit, but chose to give birth in hospital. Good job I did as I ended up having an emergency c-section. I’d want to make sure that the private hospital could cover all eventualities like that before I committed to going private.
And if I ended up being blue lit to the NHS I’d want a refund!

It would to be too scandalous if Miss Rabbit had had kids outside of wedlock.

There’s a kid at Peppa’s school who has two mums (they were doing their family portraits and the girl said she had two mummies - one is a doctor and one cooks spaghetti), so they’re moving with the times.

That's good, has peppa moved on from Madam Gazelles now?

That was always my dream future occupation as a child: being somebody who cooks spaghetti Grin

Bing bong bing,
bing bong bing,
Bing bong bingly bongly booooooo.

Foundationhelp · 22/05/2025 13:45

I had my first baby NHS and second at the Portland- I would remortgage if I got pregnant again to have that same birth! It was fantastic as an experience , whereas my first was horrendous (locum staff, mistakes made causing life long injuries etc) so I agree with mummy pig! It was a good call

No, still in the same class with all of her usual pals, George is in there too now, oddly.

Madam Gazelle hasn’t aged a day, which is remarkable given the stress of her job.

Bing bong bing,
bing bong bing,
Bing bong bingly bongly booooooo.

I hate to be controversial, but I'm pretty sure the first line is actually 'Bong bing bong' - even though it sounds counterintuitive.

I suppose it evens up the numbers of bings and bongs then, instead of just letting the bings gain an unfair amount of attention.
