Slightly light hearted, but I have to say reading the caption ‘A dump of the monthly variety’ has almost made me clam shut.

Please tell me I’m being ridiculous…

Love this thread. 😂

It's very "most excellent of evenings m'lady" /fedora coded so I can see why you got the ick. If he's generally great I would try to ignore it. Tell yourself he's been hacked.

See, I’d absolutely LOVE it if a handsome bloke said this to me!! 😃 But then I am Gen X and love a period drama with corsets and lots of swashbuckling.

“photo dump” - meh, actually urgh

Rewis · 14/05/2025 21:31

What's the issue? Him posting pictures on social media or the phraise he used?

Blinky21 · 14/05/2025 21:31

That would give me the ick, next he'll be referring to you as "this one" in social posts

Ha ha really. I would hate it. But then ridiculous costumes, formality, powdered wigs, and calling people m'lord/m'lady is v much a busman's holiday to me (barrister).

Still probably wouldn't kick Poldark out of bed for photodumping

"We did a thing" (photo of your newborn)

ImthatBoleyngirl · 14/05/2025 21:36

I like looking at my friends photos, not sure what the problem is.

@OverTheHill2 i thought you were talking about number 2's 🫣🤦‍♀️🤣

ImthatBoleyngirl · 14/05/2025 21:38

I couldn't get worked up about him calling it a photo dump either.

Ichangemyname · 14/05/2025 21:39

Grow up, it's a set of words and he isn't the only one using that term. I wouldn't use it but I wouldn't berate someone for it.

Ablondiebutagoody · 14/05/2025 21:40

Walkingwithdinosaurs · 14/05/2025 20:20

Emm, it’s social media. That’s literally what it’s used for.

Yep, by knobs. Imagine a fully grown man curating his monthly highlights, uploading them and then announcing it. I feel sick.

Sneezetimeagain · 14/05/2025 21:40

Catwoman8 · 14/05/2025 18:58

It's a common phrase people use on social media when posting several photos in one post, normally from the months highlights or a holiday. I dislike the phrase myself and wouldn't use it, but equally it doesn't bother me if someone else uses it.

Yeah this is my take on it too. I see people off all ages using this term on my Instagram. Not for me but doesn’t bother me.

guineapigsears · 14/05/2025 21:40

I was actually thinking about this the other day.

Dump. A horrible word.

Or even worse "Making memories with this one"

Gingernan · 14/05/2025 21:47

I'm laughing inanely, despite being old I have heard of photo dump ( daft expression) but at first I did think he meant a ginormous poo, some people would say that, not him I imagine!

Etaerio · 14/05/2025 21:48

moveoveralice · 14/05/2025 18:58

Ah right, ok. I have seen this myself from people old enough to know better

It isn't cute of clever, and the word dump to describe multiple photos being posted, is puerile and stupid.

I assume new bf is Gen Z op, if not, then definite ick territory.

But then, is using the word 'ick' cute or clever? Lots of people just slavishly parrot the phrases they see used on social media.

ELMhouse · 14/05/2025 21:53

I like seeing photos of friends and family whenever even in a monthly or holiday photo dump and I’m mid 40s, that’s really the only reason I use social media to be nosy! I couldn’t get too worked up about the phrasing!

also people using the term ‘gives me the ick’ might give him the ‘ick’!!

OneFineDay13 · 14/05/2025 21:57

Menopants · 14/05/2025 18:44

Yep that’ll do it

😂

OneFineDay13 · 14/05/2025 21:58

big ick from me here too on that...

BunnyLake · 14/05/2025 21:59

I am officially old as I have no idea what this thread is about 😁

BigHeadBertha · 14/05/2025 22:06

I have no idea what's going on but I'd say overlook the little stuff for now if he's good raw material. Hook him first and then you can begin to train him. 😂

MrsJoanDanvers · 14/05/2025 22:07

Omg, I thought he’d been boasting about how big his shit was. I had no idea there was such a thing as a photo dump!

Jennifershuffles · 14/05/2025 22:10

Totally thought it meant he'd done a massive shit after a month of constipation.

TomatoSandwiches · 14/05/2025 22:19

OverTheHill2 · 14/05/2025 18:45

Yes, it’s a selection of photos!

Are you telling me that a grown adult has willingly taken photos of his own shite AND posted it on SM?

OrwellianTimes · 14/05/2025 22:20

TinyTempest · 14/05/2025 18:43

It means he had a big shit and felt everyone needed to know about it for some reason.

My teenage brother used to say that. Whilst he was a teenager.
