To be sick to death of Trump?

Vesuvio · 14/05/2025 12:32

Sky News are literally obsessed with Trump. I’m sick to death of seeing his daft orange face and hearing his ridiculous rambling speeches. I put the news on yesterday to see if anything more had been said on Starmers speech on immigration but Trump was on waffling about Syria etc so I left it on for a bit thinking it would move on but nope. So I turned it off. An hour later I turned it back on - this time the sky news reporters are analysing Trump’s speech. I turned it off. Put it back on at 5pm when DH got back from work - re-runs of Trumps speech. It’s fucking ridiculous.

So today I wait until 12pm for PMQ to hear what it going on in THIS country … 20 minutes in it cuts out to a video of Trump arriving at his next destination.

AIBU to think that yes, while USA politics affects us - we don’t need to see the clown on TV 24/7!!?

I cannot stand Trump. He’s full of lies, has no clue.

Also people are believing that the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania was fake. As if it was real, the guards around him, would not let him stand up and allow him to punch his hand in the air. They would have pin him down, just in case, someone in front of Trump decided to take hit of Trump. Plus never saw any scab or scar on his ear. People say he wore an over ear fake blood capsule

Did you see him boarding the plane yesterday with bog roll stuck on his shoe?

No I didn’t see that, I have to turn him off as soon as I see him as he gives me the rage.

didn’t someone actually die in that assassination attempt though?

I also have to turn over or off if he pops up. His voice makes me want to vomit. I thought the claims of him inventing the word equalising was some kind of spoof so didn’t pay any attention, then DH was listening to it this morning and I wanted to put his phone in the toaster.

TuesdaysAreBest · 14/05/2025 13:27

Equalising is a word.

Mrsbloggz · 14/05/2025 13:31

Same here, I can't bear to look at him, hear his voice or even read any words that he has spoken.🙈🙉

Cuppachuchu · 14/05/2025 13:37

Wouldn't you think Melania would tell him to leave the fake tan alone, at the very very least?

Viviennemary · 14/05/2025 13:39

I didn't mind him that much but now agree he is becoming a total pita

ObsidianTree · 14/05/2025 13:40

Yes I don't know why they are reporting his ramblings. Analysing it is a joke! He just waffles and comes up with nonsense! Analysing it would be a waste of time!

But I agree, they shouldn't report what he's doing anymore. Most of it means nothing and are empty promises /threats

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 14/05/2025 13:42

He's like the oldest, most powerful attention seeking toddler in the world.

LOOOOOOK AT MEEEEEEEEE

Beon · 14/05/2025 13:50

He’s got dementia. Plus people have said there’s a smell of a nappy with 💩 around him.

Like him wanting to be Pope!

Serpentstooth · 14/05/2025 13:54

I hate all of him and his vile supporters. But most of all I HATE his horrible creepy voice. Shudder. Anyway, for those of you who sensibly switch off when he appears, he's off to Syria, seeking the Nobel prize by bringing Peace to The World. He must have picked up that line from the many beauty pageants he was invited to droolover judge.

GemmaCalmDown · 14/05/2025 13:55

I think it was Steve Bannon said that when Trump gets back into the White House they were going use a rapid news drop system so that when the story drops and the journalists start fact checking the next day another story drops and it looks like the fact checking from yesterday is now old news and even when things get stopped or rolled back no one is covering that because you guessed it, a new story dropped.

I've got to give it to him, it's effective. The prime moment for me recently was Trump arguing that the MS13 superimposed on the photo of the fingers above the tattoos we also tattoos clearly stating the man is an MS13 gang member. Okay Grandpa, let's explain how photoshop works. And that journalists who have covered MS13 have said those aren't the gang tattoos MS13 use anyway.

suburberphobe · 14/05/2025 13:56

Laughing at an image of him with loo paper stuck to his shoe. 😂

He really is an overgrown toddler.

Would be great if he brockered peace in the Middle East though. Will he fuck.

Ablondiebutagoody · 14/05/2025 13:57

The World needs characters. Imagine how dull it would be with a load of Starmer-a-likes. Dull as ditch water, and nothing would get done. Managed decline by yet another lawyer/politician.

Goldenbear · 14/05/2025 13:58

Yes, it is flooded with news on him but I thought that was a MAGA strategy. I agree though, really tedious.

And you think he'd listen?

Oh yes, that is what I was referring to but you have articulated much better than me with actual detail!

@Goldenbear I saw a clip of Bannon saying it and I have to say it is genius because the tangerine gets to hide things in plain site. There is a tactic where controversial stories are dropped into the news cycle seconds before a massive event so it gets buried by the bigger event in the press. They have just taken this to the next level.

Yes, the clip rings a bell actually, yes it is clever really and I suppose a bit fool proof. 😂

We'd love to not give a shit about US politics @MissConductUS, but unfortunately it affects us and the rest of the world significantly. Especially when it's as chaotic, destabilising, unpredictable and divisive as it is at present.

Equally, I don't remember the UK covering much US stuff pre Trump presidency. The average British MNetter does not represent what most British talk about IME, they don't really give a shit, even the ones you expect to. I remember chatting to a parent that was a member of the LP at the school gates when Trump got in the first time as there was a Dad from the U.S. who was really upset about it, when he left the conversation the other Dad sighed and said, "we are lucky as it doesn't really impact us, just feel sorry for Americans like him." That remark sounds very dated now I have to say!

That’s Biden you’re thinking of btw. TDS affects many people including you by the looks of it.

He had a medical last month and his height and weight are complete BS. He says he's 6ft 3. William, Prince of Wales is also that height. But when the two stood next to each other last year at the reopening of Notre Dame. There's clear evidence that William is taller than Trump. Then he claims he is 224lb (16st). One source says he's actually 287lb (20.5 stone).

Why lie about your height when we know the heights of other people?
