To be sick to death of Trump?

Sky News are literally obsessed with Trump. I’m sick to death of seeing his daft orange face and hearing his ridiculous rambling speeches. I put the news on yesterday to see if anything more had been said on Starmers speech on immigration but Trump was on waffling about Syria etc so I left it on for a bit thinking it would move on but nope. So I turned it off. An hour later I turned it back on - this time the sky news reporters are analysing Trump’s speech. I turned it off. Put it back on at 5pm when DH got back from work - re-runs of Trumps speech. It’s fucking ridiculous.

So today I wait until 12pm for PMQ to hear what it going on in THIS country … 20 minutes in it cuts out to a video of Trump arriving at his next destination.

AIBU to think that yes, while USA politics affects us - we don’t need to see the clown on TV 24/7!!?

He had a medical last month and his height and weight are complete BS. He says he's 6ft 3. William, Prince of Wales is also that height. But when the two stood next to each other last year at the reopening of Notre Dame. There's clear evidence that William is taller than Trump. Then he claims he is 224lb (16st). One source says he's actually 287lb (20.5 stone).

Why lie about your height when we know the heights of other people?

His acolytes believe anything he tells them, despite all evidence to the contrary.

I cannot stand Trump. He’s full of lies, has no clue.

Also people are believing that the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania was fake. As if it was real, the guards around him, would not let him stand up and allow him to punch his hand in the air. They would have pin him down, just in case, someone in front of Trump decided to take hit of Trump. Plus never saw any scab or scar on his ear. People say he wore an over ear fake blood capsule

Did you see him boarding the plane yesterday with bog roll stuck on his shoe?

I’d love to know what you do for a living. Whatever it is, you’re surely wasted there.

5ft 10 sounds more plausible.

TuesdaysAreBest · 14/05/2025 17:19

He’s 78. People lose height.

Serpentstooth · 14/05/2025 23:31

Get with it people. Bigly's inches are bigger than everyone else's so his 6'3" is everyone else's 5'10". Duh. He is Tremendously Tall and surrounded by pygmies. I've been elsewhere today. Has he solved the Middle East and brought about World Peace yet? Still chasing that Nobel Prize but it needs to have More Gold on it before he can accept it.

Beon · 15/05/2025 07:34

He’s even had a figurine made of his assassination ‘attempt’ of him punching his fist in the air. Many US citizens believe that it was staged.

I don’t think he realizes he’s shrunk lol but he’s clearly using some sort of Ozempic-like substance maybe in the last year (I’m a longtime Trump fan so have noticed the weight loss)

A Trump supporter in the crowd died - a firefighter with two children and two other Trump supporters were badly injured plus the shooter was shot dead.

Why don't you believe it happened? Is it because he was brave?

You can still not like him and criticise his many failings without spreading conspiricy theories.

EligibleTern · 15/05/2025 08:30

His cuts to USAID and the US leaving the WHO are already having devastating impacts on global health and it's going to get worse. It's disappointing that it's not bigger news here. What he does affects the world.

GrouachMacbeth · 15/05/2025 08:30

Is your issue the man himself, or the fact that a lot of TV news programmes are featuring him so much, so often and in so much detail?

Beon · 15/05/2025 08:46

WTF applies his orange make up? Very obvious border.

Both. Obviously.

His make up is the least ridiculous thing about him.

Both really - I can’t stand the bloke, but I respect his right to exist 😂

my main issue is the obsession the UK press have with his every move. PMQ should not have been interrupted to show Trump stepping off a bloody plane

A few weeks ago he was in one of these televised meetings that he does and all his little friends also looked orange. Not AS orange but more orange than the average person. I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes them all orange up to stop people going on about his orangeness.

YANBU, I'm sick of him and like many people have almost given up following the news - and speak as a former news junkie.

We had so much of him in the run up to the US election - almost non-stop coverage of his every antic; and now he's president doing and saying the most outrageous things we get even more of him!

Dappy777 · 15/05/2025 09:56

I get sick to death of every politician after a while. We are over-exposed to news. There's just too much of it. Cut down your screen time – and that includes your phone. If you want to be happier, ration your screen time and read books instead of newspapers – especially books not written in your lifetime.

Most nations have a politician or celebrity who incarnates that culture/nation at its worst. Trump is the incarnation of the 'Ugly American'.
