It's 24 degrees

We all want to enjoy our outdoor spaces.

If you allow your darlings to repeatedly thump a ball at a fence because "kidz shud b allowd to play innit"

You're a trash human
.

Where has consideration gone in this country.

I bet we wouldn't find you in the garden if a cased football was pounded at your fence every 5 mins

Particularly as on one side of us, where the kids are, it's a metal fence so very very loud and clanging. Not our choice of fence or indeed theirs, as both houses are rented.

Asshats.

HangingOver · 10/05/2025 16:03

Two summers ago my neighbour opposite bought their tuneless son a karaoke machine. Understandably horrified by hearing him sing Umbrella over and over again in their tiny flat, they relocated the machine to their balcony for the whole neighbourhood to enjoy.

Dotjones · 10/05/2025 16:03

YANBU, only scummy parents allow their kids to play in a way that negatively affects their neighbours.

greengreyblue · 10/05/2025 16:03

Awful people. It’s so obvious that would be annoying.

greengreyblue · 10/05/2025 16:04

I’d be tempted to go round with a kids garden goal. Win, win.

LoveTKO · 10/05/2025 16:07

Agreed OP. Poor and selfish parenting. I read so many posts about poor neighbours on here, I would throw the towel in if I were you and move to the countryside away from noisy people. I never understand how the parents aren’t bothered themselves by their noisy offspring. Different brain wiring I suppose.

CharliePoppins · 10/05/2025 16:07

YANBU. It’s absolutely ridiculous, inconsiderate and outrageous that some parents won’t do or say anything until push comes to shove.

We had the same problem in our little estate(?)/housing area last summer, but a few neighbors got together and started sharing videos of the kids’ footballs hitting cars/houses/broken fences, etc and it soon stopped once the parents were called out on the local village facebook group. Guess that only works if the parents have some shame.

If another football lands in my backgarden this year it will be deflated. I have a 3 month old baby who I will be spending time with in the garden and it is frankly dangerous of them. We have a huge play/field area a 30 second walk for them to play on but they insist on playing on the street amongst people’s parked cars.

I’m on the garden now

its fine. Nobody like that lives near me…

YouWillFindMeInTheGarden · 10/05/2025 16:09

And what was your response to your neighbour?

That that's not a solid answer, and all I'm asking for is consideration

I told my daughter she couldn't kick her ball against our neighbours house, it's common curtesy

murasaki · 10/05/2025 16:47

There was a post a while ago where some cf neighbours had actually painted a goal on the outside of the OP's house as she was on a corner.

Mind boggling rude.

ArtTheClown · 10/05/2025 16:52

It was standard where I lived. Balls booted against the shared fence, or at the front so that they hit the cars. Constant knocking the door to ask to fetch balls from the garden, which is great when you're working from home, especially as they'd come back every five minutes till you answered the door.

Only if they don't then put that against the fence..

DwayneTheRockJohnson · 10/05/2025 18:08

Same with trampolines. My neighbours have put one up right next to our shared fence and the kids bounce up and down looking into our garden. We’ve put up a trellis now on top of the fence to try and get some privacy back although it doesn’t help with the noise.

How have I missed this??

MyKingdomForACat · 10/05/2025 18:26

Entitled scum. It always puzzles me as to why the parents want to hear the thump thump of a fucking ball. Still, you mustn’t say anything or you’re an old misery who needs their head kicked in.

They're probably just delighed the noisy little fuckers are outdoors and not inside given them a thumping headache, and they don't care that the neighbours are now joining in the suffering.

Whilst I do agree with the sentiment, the part where you said “kidz shud b allowd to play innit" was so cringe and makes you sound like a total wanker.
