Dangermoo · 10/05/2025 10:59

Another reason to love living alone. Tell him to jog on.

Coffeeishot · 10/05/2025 11:02

What does he want you to be doing ? I'd pack up and get yourself to Benidorm miserable git ruining your Saturday.!

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/05/2025 11:07

I'm watching it too, still in pjs relaxing.

Coffeeishot · 10/05/2025 11:10

Dh is watching a crime documentary I'd rather be watching what you're watching!

CKN · 10/05/2025 11:12

Whingy Old Sod - enjoy the programme and daydreaming about where you’ll go

ilovesooty · 10/05/2025 11:13

I'm sure that if the OP were a man watching football there would be comments about opting out of family time.

alcoholnightmare · 10/05/2025 11:13

I’m watching the great sex experiment (cringing though) in my dressing gown.
ex husband definitely not required!

Scousemousey · 10/05/2025 11:13

What does he think you should be doing?
What is he doing?

She hasn’t even said whether or not she has a family.

Endofyear · 10/05/2025 11:16

I love to stay in bed and watch Saturday Kitchen on a Saturday morning. DH brings me a cuppa and toast, he likes to be up early and pottering. Your DH sounds like an arse! Tell him to get on with whatever he's doing and leave you alone!

ilovesooty · 10/05/2025 11:17

She mentioned him and the kids

LittleGreenDragons · 10/05/2025 11:32

Being active by doing what? Exercising or cleaning?

What does he normally do on his downtime? Pub, watching football, afternoon naps in an old armchair?

Is this your only downtime?

But whatever you answer I cannot fault your response šŸ˜‚

Not the ages. I’ve no idea why you want to start an argument to be honest.

I made a point as I have every right to do. If someone wants to challenge it that's their choice.

OverpricedCupcake · 10/05/2025 11:46

I'm catching up on Corrie, I love being single and living alone.

xanthomelana · 10/05/2025 11:49

You’re entitled to make your irrelevant point, true.

How is it "starting an argument" to point out that husband and kids kind of counts as a family lmao

My god some of you on this website have got your knickers so far up your arse you can floss with the elastic. Unbunch, it'll do you good!

I don't consider it irrelevant. You do. Opinions vary.

It’s starting an argument to quibble about ā€˜well if it was a MAN’ when a) the subject of the thread presumably isn’t a man and b) on the whole, it is men who opt out of family life.

There is a massive difference between watching TV on a Saturday morning while the other person in the marriage struggles with two toddlers and watching TV on a Saturday morning while two teens lounge in bed.

Relevant to start whining about how hard men have it, ok then Hmm

Oooookay you do you.. continue to take stupid posts on Mumsnet as seriously as if it's your job to debunk them in court, I'm sure that's great for your mental health.

Greenfields20 · 10/05/2025 12:11

It's probably a hint

I am not doing that - that's your interpretation. I'm simply pointing out that opting out of family life is generally seen as unacceptable on here and of course it's generally men who are seen to be doing it. If the OP doing it is endorsed that seems to me to be a double standard.

Just accept you didn't read the OPs post properly and move on.
Your first comment was stating (incorrectly) that the OP hadn't said she has a family. When another poster pointed out the OP had put this info, you decided to get arsey and say, well the OP didn't mention their ages. Just accept your first comment was wrong.
