To think Crocs and Clogs are the ugliest shoes ever!!

Am I the only one who just doesn't get the hype surrounding Crocs and clog type shoes??

I just think they are so damned ugly and I am probably going to get crucified on here by the croc lovers 😂

I just don't get it 🤔

Tell me what is so special about them?

They are really ugly. But soooo comfortable. I wear mine around the house.

They are visually hideous. But a godsend for my swollen pregnancy trotters

You're right, I can't stand them either. I'm nearly 60 and like comfort, but I can't bring myself to wear them. I wear Hotter shoes which can be a bit frumpy, but Crocs are in another league!

Some of us don't care if our shoes are ugly if they are comfortable.

Are they really? Because they don't even look like they would be comfortable. I wear flip flops instead of slippers in the summer months but I see all my neighbours out and about in their gardens in their crocs and I just think 'Why?' 😂

Crocs I agree. Utterly ugly, which doesn’t mean they aren’t still appropriate for some occasions (I don’t own any myself).
Clogs on the other hand can look very nice depending on the material and quality of make.

I love the way they look! They are so interesting looking! As someone who as a young woman wore heels all day every day, I can’t any longer see the appeal of heels, they literally look unintelligent to me now. Something has shifted in my brain and I see shoes that distort the feet as hideous and shoes moulded for real feet as beautiful.

They are but it's the only foot ware, I can get on my severely autistic son,s feet ,he wears them inall.weather's without socks🙄

They are hideous. I don't even wear them for hospital work.

But they are so warm and comfy, and better than flip flops for schlepping out to the bins because I refuse to wear toe socks.

I have a pair of Barbie pink crocs. I got them on Amazon half price a few years ago. Great for nipping out to the garden with the dog or taking the bins out. Etc. wouldn’t wear them otherwise.

I have loved clogs and clog type shoes since the 70s. I think I’ve retained my love for them as my mother hated them and refused to let me have any. Just bought a pair of the Birkenstock clogs and I love them. I lived in the M&S dupes as slippers in the house all winter.

We all,like different things. World would be so boring if not.

I loathe them! My DD is half my age and loves hers. I think they're a crime against style.

@x2boys my autistic daughter loves them. She often refused to walk anywhere but with these on she is happy as anything.
She has about 8 pairs in different colours and approximately 3 million of the charms to put on them.
However I agree with the OP that they are ugly 😂

Cancer treatment has meant that my feet swell so much that the only shoes I can reliably get on my feet are crocs. 😩 Or flip flops, but except for the past week, hasn’t really been flip flop weather. At least crocs I can technically wear socks with (🥴 I know), which is what I’ve had to do all winter. It’s better than no shoes or not being able to leave the house.

Even worse, I took Dh out to a Michelin starred restaurant for his birthday a few weeks ago and only realised in a panic that morning that the only shoes I could get on were the crocs. 😳 It’s been that long since I’ve been anywhere but the hospital, the school run or Tesco. Dh was like, it’s okay, you have cancer! Just don’t wear your Dry Robe and it will be fine. 🤣

I love mine. I don’t wear them outside the house, other than in the garden. DH has a pair too, but he takes them on holiday.

DS2 really wants a pair for work, but he’s part of the crash team, and people are often sick on his feet 🤢, so they’re not practical.

They are practical in some situations. Like just popping out in the garden. I fins flip flops uncomfortable... my preference is sliders.

DDs rugby club has banned them for aesthetic reasons, but sliders are fine!

Dd wears them over her ballet shoes to protect them backstage when they have to go outside (or just running into training and being lazy). I borrow hers when the puppy needs a wee and hate them… but they’re annoyingly comfy.

I think birkenstocks are worse, and they also have a rigid sole, which is uncomfortable.

See all I think when I see them on kids is “they need proper support for their little feet”!

Agree with you on shoes from Hotter - what a misnomer! I don’t think they are any better than Crocs. To clarify I have never owned a pair of either.

I have Zero fucks to give how they look - they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - and an absolute Godsend if you ever have to wade through water or are working in the garden on a really hot day (put feet wearing crocks into bucket of water, repeat as you like)
