Pigs in human form

I've just been for a walk around the unique, beautiful Devil's Punchbowl - National Trust property, part of our common heritage, home to many vulnerable species, and I must have walked past 30-40 plastic dog poo bags hanging on gorse bushes or left by the path. Why? Just why? Why do YOU do this? What would it take for you to stop?

I don't imagine anyone is going to own up to it. It's vile.

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/04/2025 14:48

Never have understood this. You have dogs (as I do), then you bag it and bin it, it’s not fuckin difficult!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/04/2025 14:53

It’s vile, I agree.

Sometimes there are no bins but of curse that’s no excuse. Take it home and bin it.

Smallmercies · 27/04/2025 15:01

Even flicking it into the nettles, gross as that is, would be better.

Talking about pigs in human form, I'm devastated about the 500 year old oak cut down by Toby Carvery. That tree was part of our heritage and can't be replaced.

I don't go near dog walker areas as they inevitably stink of urine and have bags of foul tree hangings.

MrsSkylerWhite · 27/04/2025 15:02

I love pigs! Don’t be rude 😁

Someonelookedatmypostinghistorysoichanged · 27/04/2025 15:02

Yep vile people and vile behaviour but I can’t see it changing soon. Dogs owners have taken over most public places now, every cafe, pub, most restaurants and hotels. Dogs are infantilised and it’s beyond my comprehension how this is actually good for dogs. Not everyone likes other people’s dogs, some
people have allergies… to dog dander… hmm who cares ! Is the attitude now. Some dog owners expect to flaunt their dog in the face of everyone else. Oh woe betide anyone for daring to complain.
The poo bag in tress must be an inside joke shared by plenty of knobber doggo owners.

unsync · 27/04/2025 15:22

Having kept pigs, they wouldn't do this kind of thing. They are very intelligent and fun loving. The humans that do this kind of thing obviously not so much.

Kardamyli2 · 27/04/2025 15:24

The only thing that will stop it is for dogs to be banned from such places.

IAMINYOURWALLS · 27/04/2025 15:30

Littering here makes me want to move to Japan. I have never seen litter in Japan. Also shame on the 6% who voted YABU.

MoominMai · 27/04/2025 15:31

Unfortunately dogs are so prevalent these days and a lot of families think they’re the perfect addition to make an Instagram perfect family but then frequently get the older kids to walk them. I’ve seen it happen more frequently in my area and find that the teenager is often on their phone and when dog poops, they look around and if think no one’s looking just walk on which is why should really be adults walking them. Not saying this is a blanket thing just something I frequently witness more and more around where I live which otherwise is a really lovely semi rural area.

wastingtimeonhere · 27/04/2025 15:43

It drives me nuts too, I'm a dog owner, it's part and parcel, pick it up and bin it!
I usually find it's the same ones that are happy to chuck their own rubbish too and let their kids drop crisp packets/ wrappers. See any lay by, human piss, human excrement, rubbish.Same scuzzy people.

Hate it when people do that and I'm a dog owner.

Justfreedom · 27/04/2025 16:04

I dont think its always dog poop in the bag i think its human poop.
Like a dog walker walking at night and needs the loo fast. Well just shit and blame the dog.
I dont own a dog because i could not pick shit up.

outerspacepotato · 27/04/2025 16:16

Do people there not line their jacket pocket with another bag? Like you've got the waste bag and one lining the pocket.

Onleemoi · 27/04/2025 16:18

If anyone here does do this then get yourself one of these, you filthy mares! www.dickybag.com/pages/the-dicky-bag

Jackrussellsaremad · 27/04/2025 16:23

It always intrigues me as to who they think will be picking up their discarded poo bags (effectively disgusting litter) that they have just left lying around. Sometimes this happens on footpaths or fields where not many other people walk, let alone a member of the Dog Poo Collectors County Council?? If there is such a thing??!

TrishM80 · 27/04/2025 16:50

Reason 3,457 why I hate dog owners.

Smallmercies · 27/04/2025 17:13

I saw lizards, slow worms, rabbits and lots of birds; how do you think their habitat is affected by your disgusting behaviour?

OP posts:
5foot5 · 27/04/2025 17:27

What I don't get is that surely the most unpleasant part of all is picking the dog turd up on the first place and getting it in a bag. If you are prepared to do that then surely it's not that hard to carry it to the dog poo bin or even home?

Please stop insulting pigs.

Pigs are clean, intelligent animals, often very badly abused by the methods in which they are farmed.

The people you and the OP are complaining about are human scum.

For me it's worse than just leaving the shit on the ground. It's a weird mentality because the people who do it must think they are some way doing the right thing by bagging it. People are just strange.

I agree with you and MrsSkylerWhite.

I get quite angry when people call out appalling human behaviour by saying "behaved like a pig/ animal"
