We left school and did our CSEs in 1984 - note no O Levels/A Levels or 6th Form - dear Mumsnetters

We came of age in 1986 - Hand of God - Mexico World Cup etc etc

Harold Wilson was PM when we were born

only CFs would call us ‘nearly’ ‘60’

Morning everyone

What I meant by no O/A Levels or 6th form was I went to an extremely rough, working class school in a deprived area where O/A Levels and 6 Forms are anathema !! And the old Mumsnet favourite of Russell Group Unis - I mean whaaaaa? - this just wouldn’t have been a thing with us. However a few in our school DID do A Levels and Uni - BUT the 6th form closed straight after the 67/68 born intake iyswim. So just to clarify we are more CSEs and YTS schemes! 🤣

However this ⬇️ is a universal truism about everyone born in 1968;

Were all still young looking, good looking, fit and fresh faced

Women are all 8 stone maximum, and the men are all 28” waist maximum! 😊🙌

We haven’t changed much physically from when we celebrated our 21sts!! 🎉🎉🙌

I'm sorry, I don't understand the bottom half of this comment.
Was that said as a joke/sarcasm?

I was born in 1968. I did 'O' levels. Can't believe that was 40 years ago. I think I still had some of the papers tol relatively recently.
Considering I'll probably be working for at least another 10 years, I don't feel old. And it's better than the alternative.

Delusion. I'm a 1974 baby, yep you're nearly 60! My auntie says her 60s were her Best age.

We were born 23 years after the end of the second world war.
And the year 2000 was ermmmm 25 years ago?
That can't be right surely!

Now THAT is scary. No wonder my parents talked about it a lot.
