It's St George's which should be a national celebration.

Yet nothing

OP posts:

surely it's St Trans day anyway

Isn’t that the 32nd of every month

TheBobbysAreSurly · 23/04/2025 13:38

Google have a little whatsit with a knight and a dragon, they obviously missed the memo about next week too ...

HiRen · 23/04/2025 13:40

This is a brilliant post: got the day wrong, got the message wrong, but STILL OUTRAGED BECAUSE BRITISH IS BEST 😂

The absolute best exemplar of Faragism!

wasn't st george greek anyway?

Sort of, Cappadocian (certainly not Turkish). But it isn’t unusual at all for countries to have patron Saints not of their own country’s origin. St George being the patron Saint of many countries for example. He’s also a very multi faith figure, so maybe not a bad choice of patron Saint for modern day England after all….

HauntedBungalow · 23/04/2025 13:44

It's been banned by the wokeism brigade. If they'd been in charge in 1945 we'd all be speaking German by now. LEST WE FORGET.

I believe it's the 30th division of every second

Yeah just don't tell the gammons this or it will be WOKE GONE MAD and ENGLISH PEOPLE CAN'T WALK DOWN THE STREET WITHOUT BEING ARRESTED.

Profhilodisaster · 23/04/2025 12:14

I have never in my life seen an email or Teams message about St George's day.

Or st Patrick's day or any of the other ones either

right...so will Britain celebrate with Cappadocian snacks and decorations? that would actually be interesting

corlan · 23/04/2025 13:49

There's a Happy St Georges day message on top of the BT Tower in London if that makes anyone feel better!

Exactly! It's hilarious really.
So many patriots with such a fragile sense of Englishness. Constantly looking for things to be offended about. I see them all over social media. Bunch of snowflakes!
And yes, I know OP is Irish but for some reason she's offended on behalf of the English.

BashfulClam · 23/04/2025 13:50

ExtraOnions · 23/04/2025 12:24

You can’t even say you are English now, without being arrested.

I long for the days when Winston Churchill paraded about London with a bulldog dressed in a Union Jack Waistcoat..

You get arrested now for flying a Union Jack

Woke gone mad

You know that the UNION Jack isn’t English don’t you?

RhiWrites · 23/04/2025 13:50

I’m woke enough to know it’s not today.

Ladamesansmerci · 23/04/2025 13:54

Is this really something people care about? It's not a National Celebration. I've never met a single person who cares about it.

Annony331 · 23/04/2025 13:59

St George's day is next week

lifemakeover · 23/04/2025 13:59

This is what Google looks like for me today.... just saying.

Edit to say image hasn't worked!!

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 23/04/2025 14:00

Genuine question - is there something we are meant to do to celebrate? Like a Guinness and big green hat for St Patricks... Hot Cross buns for Easter..
TELL US WHAT WE DO!!!!!

Annony331 · 23/04/2025 14:01

It falls depending on Easter. It can't fall within a holy period

ilovesooty · 23/04/2025 14:01

youve987456 · 23/04/2025 12:57

Tell me you are a racist and will be voting for Reform without telling me you are a racist and will be voting for Reform.
What utter nonsense you write. 😂

I'm sure that post was sarcastic.

lifemakeover · 23/04/2025 14:01

Trying again - this is Google today.

St George's day and not on post on Teams about it
TheWombatleague · 23/04/2025 14:01

At least OP is following tradition. The tradition that on St George's day the Engerlish get to moan about how we don't celebrate St George's day, rather than planning ahead and organising a celebration of St George's day like everyone else manages for their patron Saint.

Cyclebabble · 23/04/2025 14:01

There you go. This was our St George's celebration a few years back. A good time had by all.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 23/04/2025 14:02

I think @ExtraOnions is being satirical

Tootjaskoot · 23/04/2025 14:02

St George uses Zoom.

Willyoujustbequiet · 23/04/2025 14:03

If it helps my Facebook feed is full of people posting Happy George's Day and there's a couple of local events near me.

Definite upturn I think.
