M&S cyber attack and the levels of spam I've had the past few days

I have been inundated on my Outlook email account with spam over the past few days. It's has been unrelenting. Just now I got an email saying M&S have had a cyber attack.

AIBU to think this must be related, for reference I don't really sue this email address for many things so no reason it would be on any lists.

I have had some spam but not much but I came on to see if any one else had received the email as it said 'there may be some limited delays to your Click and Collect order, which we are working hard to resolve.' and I have not got a click amd collect order. Does yours say that?

Yes, that's the one. I've just had 5 more spam emails in the last hour!!

I was wondering over the weekend why there was so much rubbish in my inbox. Couldn’t figure it out as I normally don’t get much. This now makes complete sense as I had the email from M&S about a cyber attack too!

I'm not glad this is happening to you too, but I'm also relieved that it's not just me! I'm so pissed off about this. I deliberately don't share this email account with companies but my phone must have defaulted to it and now I'm being spammed constantly

I had this M&S email earlier and I've been getting more M&S-related spam, including a couple of emails about free tea hampers. I know those have been doing the rounds for a while but they seem to have ramped up in the last couple of days in my inbox. I also went into M&S on Monday and they were only taking cash or payments by chip and pin, I don't know if that might have been related to the cyber attack.

On Saturday while in M and s food shopping all the rilld
went down as well as the self scan and couldn’t take cash or card payments.

it also then happened in the clothing section so the whole lot went down.
luckily I had scanned on my app so could pay via Apple Pay but it was absolute carnage in there.

Me too. Hadn’t made the connection but I was getting no spam and all of a sudden loads. I’m a very regular shopper with M&S since I do click and collect to my local store.

I’m not a regular M&S on line .. maybe 3-4 a year for uniform & things like PJs.Bit got the M&s email and deluge of spam. Usually 1-2 a week to 10-20 a day

My partner had a fake "you have won" thing from a scam email address, but it was for a real competition M&S currently have running.

Stay safe everybody. They must have had a data breach.

I got the CEO email but so far that's all. I used the sparks barcode yesterday, I'll keep an eye out.

Been absolutely inundated with spam emails since Monday, talking upwards of 20 a day! Had about 7 spam calls a day since then, too. Infuriating!

Oh no! Didn’t realise it was a cyber attack - that means I’ve now missed the deadline for picking up some shoes!!

I was in my local food hall on Monday and it was chip and pin or cash only. I put my card in and it took ages to complete the transactions. It has now disappeared off my online banking. My phone definitely pinged a transaction and my receipt is in the app.

Omg, I've also had loads of spam calls. Weirdly I hadn't put 2+2 together! I'm so cross about this. I can't believe they have been so vulnerable to a cyber attack that they have given all my personal details to hackers. It's such a nuisance

This is strange, I regularly shop there and haven't had any e-mail from them or an increase in spam!
I usually shop in store and only online a couple of times a year for clothing.

It was still chip and pin yesterday? When I shopped in M&S at the weekend it was cash and chip and pin only - that was four days ago, that's a long time for there still to be a problem, if it's the same problem.

Hmmm I don’t have an increase just the usual ridiculous amount. They haven’t said there has been a data breach and they would need to so I presume it’s a coincidence

Finally M&S have admitted customer details have been hacked. I said that weeks ago!

I think I have also had the tea hamper ones. I blocked each mail as it came in but overall won’t make a difference as the email addresses are changed each time/many used at same time. I may have had phone calls but don’t answer any unknown numbers and will look them up online to see it there are reports about them being spam, if so I then just block the numbers. It’s annoying, but I’ve had my main email account 25 years now and still use it daily, so I’m going to get a fair amount of spam after all this time anyway. I do hope their banking/cc side of the business hasn’t been affected, but have seen nothing about this.

Ah yes makes sense why I've had loads extra spam. I've had the hamper one and one that keeps coming saying something about receiving £5318. I keep blocking but they keep coming
