I'll go first 😆

-Kids sharing rooms
-Complaining about schools or teachers
-Feeling upset about a friend hurting you
-Having more than 1 kid on an income under circa 50-100k, or having more than two on an income under circa 100-150k
-Renting long term
Complaining about dogs being given human rights.
Complaining about grandparents care of DC's 'because it's free so like it or lump it!'

OP posts:

Liking men.
Defending/expressing sympathy for a man.
Feature walls.

Springtime97 · 22/04/2025 07:02

Anything to do with having a ‘new’ partner. You must remain single forever if your relationship with your kids dad doesn’t work out!

HaagenYAAS · 22/04/2025 07:03

Joggers on anyone, especially children, especially if they are grey, especially if the whole family “joggers brigade!” are wearing them. Immediately leave the area!

DisapprovingSpaniel · 22/04/2025 07:08

Staying on topic. Eg the thread about the rise in airline staff abuse is already derailing into a ‘is it ok to be asked to move for a disabled person’ thread.

JasperTheDoll · 22/04/2025 07:18

Quoting the OP
Letting your child have any kind of piercings (even at the age of 16)
Eating anything that's a UPF
Eating McDonalds.....ever
Artificial lawns
Teachers
Schools holding activities during the school day (the schools working day)
Catholics
People who drive and don't cycle everywhere
Not forcing your child to do multiple extra cuticular activities
Being working class

This one mystifies me and I see it a lot outside Mumsnet too. Why are women being shamed for caring about their kids’ diets??

It's because people see it as a judgment on themselves and so get defensive.

Biffsboys · 22/04/2025 07:28

Doing anything for your dc after they turn 18 .

Gottogetoutofthisplace · 22/04/2025 07:28

Staying married to the father of your children even when his behaviour causes you mild irritation

Trans people existing

Wrong.

Trans people going into women's spaces.

Stop the hyperbole and self pity.

People having their legal wedding before their wedding celebration.

Do you mean having a grabby gift party with people not deemed important enough to witness the ceremony?

honeylulu · 22/04/2025 07:38

Expecting young adults to have some independence and responsibility for themselves - they are just babies at 18 you know.

But also... supporting young adults at uni. They should get a job and fund it themselves you know, being adults, despite their loan being means tested on parent income meaning the government expects parents to be topping up to the minimum.

SoMauveMonty · 22/04/2025 07:38

Answering your phone/not answering your phone

Opening your front door when someone knocks unexpectedly/not opening your front door when someone knocks unexpectedly

Tbh on a site with millions of users there's going to be more things frowned upon than you can shake a stick at, as that's millions of opinions being aired every year. The consternation phones and front doors cause whenever the subject comes up surprises me, but there are probably things that get my dander up that other people couldn't care less about.

FeministUnderTheCatriarchy · 22/04/2025 07:39

Your husband picking you up after a night out or generally doing things with/for you (unless you post that he does nothing, in which case you will be told he needs to do more).

Similarly, proactively wanting fairness and transparency with husband's finances even if you're a SAHM (unless you post that you have neither of those things in a roundabout way and people suggest that you should, as though you are stupid) haha

Phillipconnarthy · 22/04/2025 07:40

I find it very all or nothing on here.
Kids are either chucked out the second they turn 18 without a penny, or are fully funded in every aspect of life and gifted a car, uni accommodation fees, house deposit, wedding etc. And anything else until they're around 50 years old.

Inertia · 22/04/2025 07:40

There’s never enough protein in it.

Phillipconnarthy · 22/04/2025 07:41

Your DP getting drunk is heavily frowned upon too. If he does, you should wake him at 6am by chucking a bucket of water on him, generally make his life absolute hell for that day to extract your revenge, make sure he has the kids the entire day and you don't lift a finger.

Phillipconnarthy · 22/04/2025 07:42

Letting a tradie use your toilet because they will only leave it in an absolutely disgusting state and will have an explosion in your toilet, nothing else.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/04/2025 07:43

VisitationRights · 22/04/2025 07:37

Do you mean having a grabby gift party with people not deemed important enough to witness the ceremony?

No. But thanks for showing up to play the role of the kind of person I am talking about.

A sense of humour

Myblueclematis · 22/04/2025 07:47

Not showering every day. If you don't, you are a filthy skank.

Ophy83 · 22/04/2025 07:51

Fizbosshoes · 22/04/2025 00:59

Ensuite bathrooms
Loo brushes
Bodily functions
Fabric conditioner
Scented panty liners
Anything less than 3 showers/day
Carbs
Birthdays if you're over 8
Spending more than £100 on engagement rings or weddings
B and M and the Range
Metro tiles
Laminate flooring
Being on speaking terms with colleagues, neighbours, IL or school mums

Having reacted to fragranced panty liners, loo rolls etc (and it is the last place you want to start itching!) I am the person in the supermarket aisle sniffing the boxes of liners and loo rolls to make sure they are not secretly fragranced before buying!

Fruby · 22/04/2025 07:51

Thinking the normal polite & nice thing to do is move on an airplane if it means a child can be sat with their family. Even when you’ve paid twelve whole pounds for your seat of choice.

Globules · 22/04/2025 07:51

Daring to discuss the huge escalation of ASC/ADHD these days.

And suggesting that our benefits system cannot support the subsequent rise of DLA/PIP claims.

And that schools are not funded to meet all these needs.

And that some people exaggerate symptoms/get great advice from Dr Google in order to be diagnosed.

Petuniaspetal · 22/04/2025 07:55

britinnyc · 21/04/2025 23:49

The U.S., visiting or even worse, living there (and liking it)

It's your right to like it. It's also the right of others to dislike it and refuse to visit particularly under its current administration.

tuvamoodyson · 22/04/2025 07:58

Washing your towels/sheets before they’re throwing themselves into the washing machine by themselves because of ‘the planet’

Child-free weddings.
