To think I can hide a pregnancy until 20 weeks

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant, it’s my second DC. For complicated reasons relating to the timing, I’d really rather not tell my employer until at least 20 weeks.

AIBU to think this is achievable?

If so, does anyone have tips on how? What do you do if your colleagues guess?

It depends I think - for my second pregnancy I told my manager at 7 weeks but didn't tell anyone else until 20 weeks. I think of a team of 10, only my two direct reports guessed as they'd noticed an increase in medical appointments in my diary and joined the dots with the fact I stopped drinking. I expect my manager would have figured it out too had I not told him early. Neither mentioned it until I did though. I'm larger though so didn't show until quite late.

I'd say maybe. I imagine a few people will guess but say nothing in case they're wrong. I hid my second one but easier as it was Covid! I'm guessing your 12-20 week period will be during summer. Hot weather works as you can wear very loose, floaty things. I hear peplums are back in, they were handy to flow over the bump. Cooler weather also works as you can wear big drapery scarves.

The lawyer I worked for didn´t notice I was pregnant until I was 7 months, and only because she saw me put my hand inadvertently on my tummy. I was thin, but 5 10.

It totally depends on your body shape and how you are feeling. My boobs always went bigger straight away. There is definitely a pregnant look that people get even if they don't have an obvious bump.
