I do believe, yes. (Was agnostic/atheist until about 5 years ago.) I've read / watched many, many accounts of people who have had NDEs in particular and I am struck by how these are very normal people - with no desire for 'fame' or attention - and they've had this extraordinary thing happen to them, which invariably, profoundly and irrevocably, changes their perception of the world forever. I've read all the counterarguments - it's "just" oxygen starvation/a hallucination, etc - and yet I still believe it's something else, something we cannot yet explain. If you go onto YouTube you'll find many NDE accounts - and plenty of people have published memoirs about their experiences too. I also recommend looking into the University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Studies... There is so much content out there, you just need to have an open mind.

I am pretty sure that if anyone was gifted enough to be in sync with people's presence after they have died and could interpret their meaning , that they are highly unlikely to be using MN as a form of communication. So unfortunately you are not going to get a positive and definite answer here.

I don’t really talk about it often to anyone outside of my home , this thread was an opportunity but unless I'm directly asked a question about something like this I don’t volunteer information or broadcast my views, opinions or knowledge. We live by a certain belief system in my family based on my knowledge and it works well for us. I only commented on this thread as it felt right to.

No, she wasn't simply sharing her experience.

Her experience was "I had a dream about my late father." That's understandable.

Her claim was that this proves that he is speaking to her from beyond the grave, which is nonsense and it does none of us any good to pretend this is either real or reasonable.

A huge amount of people take comfort in thinking they've got signs from loved ones who have passed, so yes it does do people good.

It can give people comfort and make people feel good but it is not real. There is no good reason to think the dead talk to us. They are dead!

To precis... the science of near death / death itself is still in its infancy... Literally only decades - largely due to medical advancements meaning more can be researched now as people are more often bought back from the brink of death or even after technical death.
It appears that the brain and consciousness may be two separate things. So consciousness may extend beyond physical death. The article likens it to a TV being a channel for programmes. A TV doesn't hold or store programmes but it is a vessel for them to come and go and be accessed. The science is that perhaps our bodies are a vessel for consciousness. So the vessel - and our consciousness comes into the body and can also leave the body when the vessel dies. The article is from last year - so research still in its infancy.

To answer your question OP... I don't know and nobody else does either, including those giving you a flat 'no'. I doubt it in the way you are picturing, but there is definitely a lot more to be discovered about our consciousness.
And as other posters have also said - energy never dies, it can only transform... so even at it's most basic level, we do continue to exist in some form.
