Could be anything really and am hoping it’s this is a lighthearted thread.

I live less than 100 metres from the beach but hardly ever go there. I love “knowing” it’s there but seem to also forget it’s there somehow.

So what do you perhaps take for granted or don’t realise how others would appreciate it?

Same here with the beach. I've wanted to live by the sea my whole life and now I do, I feel like I'm in my 'right place' but I hardly ever set foot on the sand.

A hot tub… it cost £££ but I hardly ever use it

A large extended family but I'm extremely antisocial so rarely see them. Very sad I know, but I prefer the company of my dogs

My garage which was build in 1971. I’ve lived in my house for 20 years and never managed to park any of my cars in it. Although it does have my lawn mower and random non used things in it. It’s just too small for cars built today.

I had one of those in a previous house. Not only was it two small for my (not huge or even particularly large!) Car at the time, but the doorstep jutted out too far to drive past to get the car into it! Even the drive was a nightmare as it was narrow and the road went around in a curve, hard to explain but you'd need a bang-on-accurate angle to enter the drive either way. I could never be arsed, frankly. Car got parked on the road outside and garage was a handy outdoor junk room.

Some beautiful pairs of high-heeled shoes.

I’m mostly out dog walking nowadays.

Agian, same. I actually love clothes and dressing nicely but unfortunately my cultivated lifestyle/job/friendship group lends itself more to popping down the local pub than any swanky sort of place to put on the sort of clothes I have stashed.
I have designer heels, beautiful dresses, jewelry... would look a bit funny walking my huge dog through the muddy park in them.

I'm single and writing this has made me want to make it my mission to get dating someone who has a lifestyle that will require me to utilise nice clothes more often!🤣

A sauna. Was built by previous owners. Currently houses our Christmas decs. 🤣🤣

I would kill for a sauna at home! But also genuinely great you’ve essentially turned it into a Christmas grotto 😃

A spacious, 5 bedroom Georgian house that DH and I only live in about a third of, now our DDs have flown the nest.

Got an inflatable one for my 60th a few years back. Used it a few times. It ‘s now in the shed. Too much hassle getting the chemicals just right.

Also,a uterus. Had it all my life never used.

Two gardens. I always feel like a twat explaining.

I used to own a. House called Pedwar Ardd - four Gardens in Welsh <outs self>
I too felt a twat explaining. One bit was down a lane and the bane of my life…

NPET · 20/04/2025 12:43

The use of 5 vehicles.
No - I'm not an eccentric millionaire or a gas-guzzling petrolhead, and they're not all owned by me, but I'm licenced to drive all 5.

I have a selection of hats and fascinators that just sit in boxes on top of the wardrobe that I’ve had for weddings, worn once and just can’t bear to get rid of! I have a fine collection of gloves, too!

My third nipple, good to have a spare just incase 🤷🏻‍♀️

A beautiful woodland walk just metres from our house but we hardly ever walk it. We’re moving to coast soon and, reading some of these posts, I’m wondering how much time we’re actually going to spend on the beach!

StrawberryWater · 20/04/2025 13:05

Air conditioning.

I'm worried about using it because it's bad for the environment. Luckily it was already in my house when I bought it so I haven't wasted money.

I have a tower fan instead. It uses a hell of a lot less electricity etc.

Femalefootyfan · 20/04/2025 13:11

Several pairs of Louboutin shoes and 9 or 10 Mulberry handbags. I use one Mulberry as my everyday bag but the rest are just sat in their dust bags in my wardrobe, along with the shoes that are all in their boxes. I rarely wear heels now but I do intend to wear the shoes when the occasion arises and I don’t have to walk far. I do try to wear the bags a bit more often but I’m actually contemplating selling 2 or 3 of them.

All of these were bought when my DH had a very high paying job, he’s retired now so no more expensive new bags and shoes will be coming my way 😂

Year’s ago I got an inflatable pool for my kids (not too deep but more than the very shallow ones). What an absolute hassle. Used one summer then dumped in the garage. It’s probably still there somewhere even though kids are now grown up.

You could rent that out!
