@Unpaidviewer wow, he's actually advocating for children to have surgery and wombs and titties? Steering leave the kid's alone??

The irony!!

OH PLEASE let's not let this sink into an anti-trans post.

I have friends & relatives who are Trans, Gay, Queer & non-binary. Live & let live. Please, we are all above this.

Why do you think women should ignore protesters openly carrying posters calling for the shooting, gouging out of eyes and physically harming women?
This is the problem. Nobody has ever said no to this lot. Every single meeting of women - Filia conferences, Let Women Speak, professional conferences about safeguarding children, political discussions - is met with masked demonstrators issuing threats, carrying placards threatening to sexually assault women, disrupting events and abusing and often physically assaulting women.
Every. bloody. meeting.

This is a sustained campaign of violence against women - aided and abetted by not only the trans lobby groups who often organise the protests and never speak out against the threats but also ordinary people who frame women pointing out the violence as being "anti trans".

To me, men pretending to be women are never vulnerable. Nobody forced you to bring up the topic of and post extensively about your son, you did that - to guilt us into feeling bad. You can’t be surprised when people respond with views of their own. This thread was about the protest, you could’ve just stuck to that.

Then perhaps those individual posters should stop going on to every gender identity related thread and bringing up the emotive topic of their sad and vulnerable child to stifle discussion and make us feel guilty?

Oh, now we are the thread police.

How many gender related threads are there on this board? How many in the past week?

This is the second gender related thread I have posted on. I am just as entitled as you are to post on any thread I choose.

aylis · 19/04/2025 21:30

The good guys have DEFINITELY been the ones throughout history who have oppressed women on the basis of their sex while failing to recognise them as a distinct group of people with needs pertaining to that sex.

jodolun · 19/04/2025 21:30

Unpaidviewer · 19/04/2025 21:23

Wow, and they say we are the one's who want to reduce what a woman is to biology and body parts. When they are literally fetishizing out body parts and treating them like a costume they can slip on, ad demanding that we all pay for it and their designer surgeries.

I think they grossly misunderstand how the vast majority of people will see this kind of thing.

Placards calling for violence against women everywhere

So they want to call themselves women, be legally recognised as women and then be violated along with all biological women ?
Logic isn’t their strong point.

Love the guy demanding "wombs and titties"

I thought being a woman had nothing to do with possessing these thing?

They’ll be sorry if they go the whole wombs and titties and neo vagina route. For one thing it makes it a lot harder to piss in the street, as most women know instinctively, which is why we don’t.

I think the behaviour of the 19900 who didn't deface the statue or carry idiotic signs inciting violence was acceptable. Protesting is acceptable.

A lot of the signs were 'trans rights now'. If trans people are mobilising to fight for third spaces that would be great, wouldn't it?

@Diverze
Yes, that would be great IF they mobilised to fight for third spaces.
In fact IF they had done it in the past, the SC ruling wouldn’t have been needed. They would have had plenty of third spaces by now. But they are not protesting to get third space.
They are angry because they have lost access to women’s spaces, where they shouldn’t have been allowed in the first place.
Women’s spaces are for biological women and for biological women only.
IF they ever decide that they want their own spaces instead of stealing ours, most women will support them.

Yeah ... we've heard the 'I'm just as entitled to use your space as you' thing before.

We don't agree and the Supreme Court agrees with us.

Don't get me wrong, I have a very close relative who has decided that, although born male, wants to identify as female. I am totally supportive, but have pointed out that as they were male until their mid-20's they have no idea what it is like to be a biological female. They haven't had periods, not spent their formative years watching who was behind them when walking home in the dark, keeping their keys in their hand to potentially defend themselves, walking into a pub loo watching who may be following them - I could go on.

My relative acknowledged that. We've since had many discussions on the same vein, all of which have been acknowledged & appreciated that they can't totally understand what it is to be female, but that is the gender they feel comfortable with which I have also had to acknowledge. It was tough, but I love them & have to accept them for who they feel they are.

However I do feel that, as a woman who has always been a woman a man who decides that they feel more comfortable living as a woman is only living as half a woman. As I've said, they don't have to deal with periods, haven't grown up watching their backs, their body language etc etc. My relative gets this.

Also because of the threat of sexual violence women have a right to decide who is around when they take their clothes off.

I won’t be supporting them. They can battle bravely on by themselves, as we’ve had to do.

Actually what I am trying to do is remind any posters who have not yet been completely radicalised that there are many ordinary trans people out there who are not the violent and aggressive TRAs who spew hatred at women. That most trans people mean no harm. That doesn't mean they should be allowed into women's spaces and I am not saying that. I am just trying to depolarise viewpoints a bit.

If it's making you feel guilty then that's on you, and it's presumably because it doesn't fit with your image of trans people as represented by the shouty TRAs. Maybe giving a bit of cognitive dissonance.

Mumsnet always claims that there's no transphobia here. All I can say is that some of these posts and some of these posters sail dangerously close to it.

Brefugee · 19/04/2025 21:40

Diverze · 19/04/2025 21:03

Let me get this clear, are you genuinely saying that my trans daughter is most likely savage, psychopathic, sexually or physically aggressive?

Thanks for proving who is being hateful in this particular discussion.

Actually yes I do know because she doesn't go online or use social media or even carry a phone.

That isn't what was said. This is the kind of escalating hyperbole we have come to expect from TRAs though.

The fact is your DC may be the most lovely person in the world, genuinely.

But the fact is also that plenty of these TRAs are horrible people screaming abuse at women for daring to exist and wishing awful injuries on them.

And the point stands for mums of boys. Of COURSE your Brian wouldn't go round raping girls - but someone's son does that.

It is lovely for you to be supportive of your child, that is how it should be. But don't make excuses for the bad apples. As pp said: they all have mums who think the sun shines out of their collective arses too. All the mums can't be right all of the time.

Where do they plan on getting wombs from? The only way would be harvesting them from women, dead or alive.

Then they wonder why everyone gets the impression they're a tad unhinged.

Hey, nice try but Peony doubled down and clarified that yes, she was talking to me about my young person.

This is what she clarified:
"I said you don't know what he's like when he's not around you. You say 'gardening' like that proves he's a gentle soul who wouldn't hurt a fly. But acting sad and vulnerable in public, and partaking in knitting/gardening/baking, before logging on and spewing pure misogyny is a familiar profile. I'm sure many women on here know what I mean."

Elclr · 19/04/2025 21:43

exwhyzed · 19/04/2025 21:21

Do you have parents? can you read

The point is women are far more likely to have caring responsibilities for others than men. It's nothing to do with your specific ability to breed and everything to do with your female socialisation.

Yes, I can read. Also, no. I don't anymore. But thank you for the question and I hope you have a pleasant evening.
