Well it was a very vocal and high profile trans rights activist (India Willoughby) who said they were going to do a pee protest so yeah it does sound like them?!

so they are trying to prove they are women, saying they are women.

no true women would vandalise this statue. The more they do things like this the less support they will get. I think a lot of eyes have been opened.

And bloody typical of men, I have memories of wheeling my buggy through streams of stinking man piss outside Highbury and Islington Station whenever Arsenal were playing at the old Highbury ground. Just because you can guys, doesn’t mean you should.

But I'm sure MPs are demanding that Parliament be recalled immediately so that emergency legislation can be passed to say that "woman means woman, or man who wants to be a woman, even if it's just to go to a womens prison because he's a rapist and wouldn't be happy in a mens prison, because he doesn't want to rape men."

Apologies for exaggerating for effect, I know that the number of transwomen in prisons for sexual assault and other violent crimes against women is statistically insignificant, so according to TRA maths hasn't ever happened.

I am not on the trans "side". I am naturally GC.

I just know that most trans people are not hateful or violent. I have a trans child and know many others and none are aggressive or nasty. They are rather vulnerable people who are mostly autistic and they are scared.

I have watched both sides polarise over the years. Just on this thread a now deleted post read "they are disgusting people".

Of course violent signs are a pathetic own goal and of course there are bad actors out there. But frothing over the daily express, mail and telegraph showing a highly curated set of signs out of ten of hundreds of perfectly mild signs that are non-violent is playing into the hands of those in the media who enjoy stoking division. Clearly the vast vast vast majority of people attending these rallies are not violent people who want to decapitate or shoot women. I for one would like those people removed from the protests, but I don't think it's my trans child's fault that some wankers are also trans.

My trans (adult) child spent today volunteering at a community garden, planting potatoes and spring onions. She has never sought for anyone to be sacked, nor used a female toilet or service. She just wants to live peacefully in the way that most makes sense to her. I will not allow you or anyone else to tar her with the same brush as someone carrying a placard that spews hate.

Gosh, I can't think why we'd be bitching about this behaviour, how unreasonable of us 🙄

No one has an issue with people like your child, in fact people attending these kind of protests are making life harder for trans people who want to get on with their lives in peace. So people who support people such as your child should be calling these sort of things out, they are making life a million times harder than women wanting to protect their spaces are.

M Fawcett a very interesting person who didn't approve of the Pankhurst's support of enlisting men to join WW1, she was the leading light of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies rather than the Pankhurst Women's Social & Political Union. She disproved of the way that the WSPU leaders weren't democratically elected & thought the way forward was to educate people - men & women Hence the Fawcett Society. Her sister was the first woman doctor - Elizabeth Garratt Anderson.

My middle names are Millicent Elizabeth in memory of her & her sister as my mother was a fervent feminist & big believer that education is the way forward for women & their children. Shame that's not so in Afghanistan ATM.

That's not logical if they also are insistent that they are actual women.

They can't both acknowledge they are a gay man and claim to be an actual woman.

More likely I would think to be a trans man who identified as a gay man (and who is therefore a natal female).

I have lovely men in my life and a (male) partner who wouldn’t harm a fly. I wouldn’t try and shut down a thread on males as a sex class being statically the ones who will cause the most harm because of the aforementioned.
