About damn time. The police have shown themselves to be institutionally misogynist and a real part of the problem in the fight against violence towards women & girls.

IthasYes · 19/04/2025 08:29

It should never ever have come to this but yes it's good news.

TheKeatingFive · 19/04/2025 08:31

Of course. Absolutely disgusting that this was ever the case.

MidnightPatrol · 19/04/2025 08:34

There’s going to be all sorts of data sets which will show as anomalies over the past ten years or so.

MoreChocPls · 19/04/2025 08:35

How the home office and courts ever permitted this is unbelievable. It’s ridiculous.

borntobequiet · 19/04/2025 08:44

I’m wondering if and when we will see this reported by the BBC.

I hope they retrospectively go back and amend all records of biological men who have been convicted of tape who have been recorded as women. It's a travesty and has significant impacts on the ability to research sexual offending

TwistedWonder · 19/04/2025 08:56

Of course it’s good news but how the fuck did we get to a place where this was ever considered ok?

The fact that disgusting scummy male rapists could don a badly fitting wig and and pair of pink leggings with bollocks on display and have to be referred to as she and her in front of their victims is an absolute disgrace.

They can identify as women, but we don't have to take a blind bit of notice of it. Any more than they can identify as innocent and we don't have to kowtow to that, either.

Ddakji · 19/04/2025 09:06

but will the e mainstream media continue to refer to them as women? Will the Bench Book be updated?

Came here to ask this as well. The insane act of reporting male crimes as female crimes in the media has to stop (fuck knows how it ever started in the first place tbh)

You can change it back.

Do I remember correctly that a woman said she was raped on a hospital ward but apparently that was not possible because there were no men there? There was however a man who identified as a woman!

I think the bench book guidance for judges now says that victims can refer to rapists as men

And in Peggie case, she and her lawyers were allowed to refer to Dr upton as he

Media may change their approach. Makes no sense for them to eg call a rapist she if that language wasn't used in the court case. And supreme court clear that woman = bio female

This must be a hard time to be transgender, but they'd have been better to campaign for their own language / facilities, instead of trampling on women's rights

Lisapieces · 19/04/2025 09:31

What about journalists how do they plan to report these crimes now? At least we know in court the judges will definitely take on the Supreme Court ruling.

Yes that happened and yet these things are brushed under the carpet to worship at the alter of DEI

Women have been treated like human shields and cannon fodder to pander to abusive men finding a loophole to get access to them and people in high places are facilitating state sponsored abuse.

It was utterly offensive that it was allowed in the first place. Sense is finally returning

Moonshinerso · 19/04/2025 09:39

So many apologies need to be made to women who were forced to refer to their male rapists as women.

It was certainly one of the higher peaks in the mountain range for me, the sort that is so dismaying when the foothills have been pretty hard going.

They let this woman feel like a fool. Disgusting.
Excellent result, crazy that it was ever allowed.

IthasYes · 19/04/2025 09:53

Did any women shove on a crooked moustache and try and get into those private men's clubs?
