To buy an expensive ninja coffee machine

caramac04 · 17/04/2025 09:59

Ninja have got £50 off their bean to cup coffee machine.
My name is Caramac and I am a ninjaholic.
I don’t NEED another coffee machine although my current one will be replaced by a bean to cup at some point. It’s quite new so can’t justify replacing it on age.
I can afford it although there are other things which the money would be better spent on.
There is a 12 month interest free option to spread the cost which I would probably use.
My very patient DH would not be happy.
I know IABU to buy it. Please reinforce that to me.
I am going to walk the dog now and put it out of my mind.

Do you have the money? YES you answered this

Would you use it regularly? YES (assumption from your post)

Would it be better than your current machine? PASS, I hate coffee no idea

Would it make you happy? PASS, I assume so but you need to answer

Would you rather use the money on something else? PASS you said there are other things but the fact your asking suggests you would rather spend on this

If the answers are all yes then go for it! If there are any no's then there is your answer!

I’m going to be no help as I’ve got one! I love it. The coffee tastes amazing. I use plant milk and its froths brilliantly. I did look at Sage machines first, but the ninja was cheaper and I don’t regret getting it.

DiscoBeat · 17/04/2025 10:06

Get one if you want but honestly we're super happy with our cafetieres. We've got 3 sizes, stainless steel ones with the smallest for one mug and the largest for 8, and we buy decent ground coffee or grind beans if we feel like it (a batch at a time in a spice grinder, takes 5 mins to fill a jar). It's every bit as good, saves space and saves all those coffee pods.

StripyShirt · 17/04/2025 11:10

Do it!

Harp1977 · 17/04/2025 11:33

I would get the ninja slushie frozen drink machine as summer is coming tbh

irregularegular · 17/04/2025 11:56

What other things would the money be better spent on?
Gut feel is that you are thinking of using credit to spread the cost of something which is clearly a luxury item, then it is probably a bad idea. Sorry.

UndermyShoeJoe · 17/04/2025 11:57

Do it. Says the women who just got the slushie machine and has a second on order 😅

Sansan18 · 17/04/2025 12:06

I've just purchased one from Harvey Norman at £449, Ninja also offer 10% off on your first purchase.Never even considered it until I read your post so that really is impulsive.
I use plant milk so I'm really interested to see how it works.
If you don't purchase one yourself you can always live vicariously through me😄
No more expensive suggestions please.

Sansan18 · 17/04/2025 12:07

Just a quick addition that the Ninja soupmaker is the best I've ever owned so I'm not entirely an impulse buyer.

suki1964 · 17/04/2025 13:24

Dam this thread !!!

Ive been tempted but have been telling myself there is nothing wrong with my Sage because its just me that drinks coffee in the house and its a considered purchase

Now Im back looking .........

StripyHorse · 17/04/2025 13:58

How do you currently make coffee? Is it a pod machine or a home espresso machine?
If you have a home espresso machine, do you buy pre-ground coffee, or do you prefer to grind your own?
Do you want coffee as quickly as possible, or are you happy to take your time making it?

There is a good review of it here https://coffeeblog.co.uk/ninja-luxe-cafe-coffee-machine-review/

If I hadn't already got an espresso machine (and if I had this much space) I would be very tempted by the Ninja. It looks like you get a lot for your money.

So Ninja have made a coffee machine - the Ninja Luxe Cafe, and let me tell you - it's surprising! But its it surprisingly good, or surprisingly bad? Keep

Personally I'd get a Sage not a Ninja - Sage are coffee connoisseurs, Ninja are just dipping in and have just created something quickly that they know will sell, and so that puts me off.

GasPanic · 17/04/2025 14:00

Find a way to justify it.

For example, if it means buying less coffee while you are out, you are saving money.

Or if the coffees are cheaper to produce with this machine than the others then you are saving money.

Plus it is on sale and might never be repeated.

imnotsickbutimnotwell · 17/04/2025 15:50

I bought the cafe luxe of Ninjas refurbished site on eBay (make sure it’s actually the real Ninjas store). I paid £400 but I think it’s £475 now. I’ve used it several times a day since I got it and it’s fantastic.

I'm looking too!!! Got £500 that I was setting aside for something else but this might have to be prioritised now!

OP - do you work for Ninja...? 🤔If not then you definitely should 😂

Edinvillian · 17/04/2025 16:18

We have one and it’s great, makes fabulous lattes. My only issue is I don’t think it’s hot enough, I bung the espresso in the microwave for 30 seconds while my milk is frothing. My husband thinks the temperature is fine though.
I also bought the slushi at the same time and it’s amazing! We use it every weekend for cocktails and my son uses it during the week for milkshakes. (I’m a ninja addict 🤣)

We have them as well, but it's a completely different taste/ texture you with with a proper espresso type coffee machine.

samarrange · 17/04/2025 16:24

If you are currently using cartridges then even a high-end bean-to-cup machine can pay for itself in a year or less. We don't drink a ton of coffee, maybe 5 cups a day between two of us, but when we went from Tassimo to a low-end (£250) DeLonghi we started saving £40 a month, plus the coffee is noticeably better (and we can choose our beans). 8 Nespressos a day between two people is about £1500 a year. 😱

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 17/04/2025 16:27

I wouldn't buy the coffee machine as I don't drink coffee, but, I'll tell you what we have bought - the Slushi!
We've made all kinds of Slush Puppie-esque creations and I think it's really going to help keep us cool in the summer!
Pricey, but worth it in my opinion!
Like you, we're Ninja addicts in this household - we bought the Flip a couple of years ago and use it far more than our regular oven. The only thing we bought and don't use very much was the fruit juicer but I think, now we've got the Slushi, we'll probably get some use out of it!

MarxistMags · 17/04/2025 16:31

What about the Ninja ice cream maker......?

UndermyShoeJoe · 17/04/2025 16:35

The creamie? I’m waiting for the swirl to make mr whippys.

100% agree with this.

BeyondtheBeyond · 17/04/2025 16:39

I’ve got the Ninja chopper and it’s great.
I tell everyone about it.

BuildbyNumbere · 17/04/2025 17:08

Can you sell the one you have to help fund it?

Iwilladmit · 17/04/2025 17:14

If you’re putting a luxury on credit then you cannot afford it.
