In an ideal world. My birthday is coming up and on my wishlist, I’ve got: a Longchamp le pliage in paper, LEGO Pink bouquet set, a bracelet and a cake.

What about you?

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I got:
Lego Tudor Corner and a display case for it, some Bothy Threads cross stitch kits, an RTO cross stitch kit I could only buy from Germany, which nearly doubled the price with postage Blush and some new knickers from M&S.

It was also our WA so DH got some socks and hankies (he was down to fred bear ones Grin) a WASGIJ jigsaw and a couple Regatta fleece gilets.

Very jealous of your Lego Tudor Corner and display case. I don’t even have any space to put it, but I’ve been wanting that particular modular building since it was released.

I’d just like my friend back. It has been 5 months yesterday that we have barely spoken and we used to speak almost every day.

HairyToity · 11/04/2025 10:49

Nothing. We're saving for some home improvements. Just buying on need at the moment.

Lol at the people who say ‘I hate presents’! What really? You hate it when someone gives you a bunch or flowers or a box or chocolates?! Bet you’re a bundle of joy 😂

eyespartyparty · 11/04/2025 10:56

Oh and for my birthday I’d love anything chocolatey and maybe a day out at the coast with fish and chips on the beach.

Roundaboot · 11/04/2025 11:04

A welded bracelet
Latch hook rug kit (got one for Christmas which I really enjoyed...you could say now I'm hooked! 😂)

And I would absolutely love the Lego Botanical Garden but I'm not sure that I could ever justify spending or asking anyone to spend nearly £300 on a Lego set!

mickandrorty · 11/04/2025 11:25

I just had my birthday I got
Lots of books
New bag
Trainers
Clothes
make up
a nice notebook
a good salt and pepper grinder
Carrot cake which was a real treat because I love it but am the only person in the house who eats it so i never buy it.

LobeliaBaggins · 11/04/2025 11:26

It did, and so suddenly too.
This was someone who had supported me through a horrendous bereavement, international move, family problems, having to move house 3 times (all in the space of 9 months). And last November she turned on me, and subjected me to something so humiliating in the one place I thought I was safe.
As you can see by my user name, I am Christian and I pray for her every day. I am devastated. Weird as it sounds, it feels like another bereavement. I wake up and think of something funny to tell her and then remember. I have started a new relationship and she doesn't know. I scattered the ashes and she doesn't know, despite holding me up at the funeral. I want to read her the poem I wrote for the anniversary of my beloved relative's passing. My door will always be open, although trust will take a while to be restored. I honestly don't know what it would take to 'fix'.
I wasn't innocent neither - I was burned out and probably hard work. But I didn't deserve that.
Thanks for being kind.

I'm so sorry. Hopefully time will be a healer for both of you and eventually you will reconnect and sort out difference.
It sounds like life has been very difficult recently but things change. I hope things get easier for you soon.

Losdy · 11/04/2025 12:02

I had a baby 10 months ago and feel like I went from looking really good to horrendous in the blink of an eye. I’ve ended up starting a bit of a transformation. Have lost two stone but want to carry on with the self improvement. Birthday is in two weeks

Im buying myself (dh will wrap):

  • led red light therapy mask
  • teeth whitening strips
  • hair oil
  • posh hair mask
  • tretinoin

I’ll buy some posh perfume when I lose another stone (dh is a pilot so that is one very nice perk)

MiddleAgedDread · 11/04/2025 12:04

I don’t know, my mother keeps asking me for ideas and I don’t have anything!

Ted27 · 11/04/2025 12:04

I'm 60 in June

I would like my son home for the day and a purple wheelbarrow for my allotment.

ZiggyPlaysGuitarrr · 11/04/2025 12:05

I received gig tickets, a dry robe, a record, expensive walking socks, books, chocolate and flowers.

ladyvimes · 11/04/2025 12:05

I’m desperate for a pair of Birkenstock mules. Have coveted them for ages and I love them. Dd thinks they’re ugly and dh thinks £140 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on shoes but I continue to dream…

Honestly - it's fab. I'm sure you could squeeze it in somewhere. Grin

<cough> DH treated me to that for Christmas. It's fab. There's a little birds nest in the roof. 🐥

Oh, and under the floor, hidden apart from a small arch, is a puddle with a little frog.🐸 It's a bit sad that you won't really see him, but you know he's there.

mondaytosunday · 11/04/2025 13:09

It was my birthday last month. I bought myself a walking treadmill!

Don't plant the Cherry near a fence post - trust me on this.
I love Acers, I've 2 of the deep red ones, one copper coloured and one with green/pink/cream leaves. Smile

what happens when you plant a cherry tree near a fence post please?

LeaderBee · 11/04/2025 13:46

Something Battletech related - models for a miniatures wargame or a book.
I'm still building a model tank so while i wouldn't mind another I won't get around to it for a long time.
Clothes are useful but incredibly boring, just because i'm a grown up now doesn't mean I don't want toys anymore.

Daisy12Maisie · 11/04/2025 14:06

I would like some new tinted moisturiser for the summer.
Some sandals- seen some in office for about £50.
My hair highlighted and cut.
To be taken out for dinner.
Several of the dresses I tried on in Apricot recently.
The tulips I saw in Aldi this morning.

No chocolate as I’m struggling with my weight at the moment.

It is not my birthday and I don’t have any money so I won’t be getting any of the above!
