This is a confession thread and also a mystery solving thread.

There are certain things in life that everyone seems to hate, but I've never ever seen anyone own up to doing, and I would like these people to own up now because I need to know your demographic and why you do them. This is anonymous, you are safe here, tell the truth.

WHO are the people that hang dog poo bags on trees? Who are you and WHY?
WHO are the people that bought all the toilet rolls during covid?

Please add your own answers and your own confessions. Especially the dog poo one because it's everywhere, and yet I never see anyone doing it or owning up to it.

OP posts:

Who cares? Maybe they don’t like the way your face looks or the way you pick up apples in the fruit section. There is no standard involved in abusing people

Abuse? You're having a laugh . Some people end up with severe trauma issues from being bullied and even kill themselves . You saying "hanging dog poo from trees is disgusting " causes neither trauma nor suicide. It's harmless behaviour. let's not insult actual victims of abuse by conflating these two things.

it's inconsiderate to litter or leave bags of dog crap lying about. My sympathies are with those who have to be surrounded by it, not the people who cause the problem.

Maybe the "abuse" you're talking about will stop these people being offensive and smelly and antisocial. Win-win situation.

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 10:20

You don’t get it do you? You don’t get to control the world. You don’t get to bully people until they behave the way you want.

“Maybe the "abuse" you're talking about will stop these people being offensive and smelly and antisocial. Win-win situation.”

you are repeating over and over that you think it’s a great idea to bully people into behaving in a way you think is acceptable. Can’t you see how immature and arrogant that is?

HueyLouisAndDewey · 10/04/2025 10:28

Again, I have not demonstrate any bullying or attempts to control or Billy people in any of my responses.

it's not bullying to say people shouldn't litter or leave dog poo around. It's expressing an opinion. They aren't being coerced or forced to change their behaviour. They have free agency . I am not sure you know what bullying even means if you think this is it. Why should we put up with dog poo ruining where we live? It's not hard to pick up dog poo. If I can do it anyone can. That's not arrogance, that's the truth. Staying the obvious, even.

it's not like people can't just change their behaviour if they want to. if they felt shame they would change, I'm guessing may be they don't care.

I can assure you I have no wish to control the world . I wouldn't go up to someone in the park and confront them because I am shy and they might retaliate . Which I know is a bit pathetic of me, I do own that. I just don't like being surrounded by dog poo and fly tipping. I don't see anything controversial about that.

Maybe the worst that will happen is the shamed person won't change their behaviour. I don't know. They don't seem to care what others think of them generally. But it's not wrong to express an opinion.

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 10:34

Well if you wouldn’t do it face to face don’t do it here (and before you say it that’s not just you Huey, it’s all the posters saying similar)

HueyLouisAndDewey · 10/04/2025 10:39

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 10:34

Why not do it here? Nobody is harmed . It's not exactly bullying or racism.

HueyLouisAndDewey · 10/04/2025 10:41

It's as harmless as saying women are adult human females or that the sun is hot. Neither of those are actually hurtful opinions

HueyLouisAndDewey · 10/04/2025 10:58

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 10:34

Well if you wouldn’t do it face to face don’t do it here (and before you say it that’s not just you Huey, it’s all the posters saying similar)

But it's adults in an equal position of power having a robust exchange of opinions. No one weak or vulnerable is being targeted. Which is definition of bullying . There isn't a power imbalance here.

People who leave pooh bags around aren't incapable . They are people who have made a behavioural choice. Some are fine with it and others aren't .

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 10:59

You think It’s not harmful to mass deride someone, multiple posts that they have to read one after the other calling them names? Take the very mild derision aimed at me above;

smelly
horrible
justifying disgusting behaviour

do I care what that poster thinks? No. Would I care if 10 different posters were saying the same one after the other? I would feel a little upset, yes. It feels overwhelming and cruel.

FalseSpring · 10/04/2025 11:16

To be disgusted by people leaving dog poo in bags, in the tree or on the ground is not bullying. Littering and fly tipping are similar selfish behaviours and I am happy to educate the ignorant and call them out online. As a frail old lady, I am going to be careful about calling people out in person as some get aggressive, but I am happy to campaign against this online where I am protected.

@AquaPeer If you let us know where you live, we can all come and hang our poo in your garden if you think it is ok.

Stevialive · 10/04/2025 11:17

What is your confession op?

Sure but I didn't say anything cruel or derisory. I'm not a bully type so don't understand why someone would call names or be insulting . I can understand it may be annoying and hurtful but I was not part of it in any way shape or form. I'm not like that . I'm sorry people have said unpleasant things to you .

My concern is about the environment and the fact we are part of society and what matters is making it pleasant for everyone to live in. I guess I was wanting to understand the dog poo thing as it doesn't make sense to me why other dog owners wouldn't just wait until they could bin it .

Fly tipping Is awful but it's expensive paying for council to take things away. I'm disabled physically and don't have a car or access to a tip. I don't fly tip myself but I can see why people do it. Not saying it's right .

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 11:20

It’s got nothing to do with being disgusted, be disgusted all you want. What you don’t do is ask someone to explain themselves on a forum then dive in to deride them for their explanation

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/04/2025 11:24

Who are the people who empty children’s potties in the car park at my local park? Human poo is no different to dog poo - put it in the bin (or, you know, the toilet which is 25m away)
twice now my delightful Labradustbin has eaten a full sized human poo just left in the hedgerow that Demarks the carpark. Absolutely revolting.

HueyLouisAndDewey · 10/04/2025 11:27

The problem today is individuals putting themselves above community. We live in a community therefore leaving unpleasant smells and rubbish around isn't acceptable. Of course sometimes it can't be helped. I accept there are exceptional cases. Generally speaking though...

No , you're a correct - you only have to visit places like Denmark or Japan to get an idea how beautifully clean a place can be, with so little effort.
I'm not saying we should all adapt to the Japanese model because I'm too nonconformist for that but just a slight change in mindset would do wonders.

orangesandlemonssaythebellsofstclements · 09/04/2025 15:12

I think they just care more about their cars and enjoying their own little clean, tidy and private bubble, than they do the rest of the world and they are not willing to put up with having something they don't want in their cars longer than they have to. Basically, they are selfish twunts.
That I understand, they are selfish. Ok. Got it.
But the dog poo people, I just don't get. They have gone to the effort of picking it up and bagging it, why have they put it in a tree?

I don't know the answers OP but maybe they are the same people who throw entire takeaway bags of empty McDonald's onto the road outside our house.

I'm sure if we do a Venn diagram they would also play games or music without headphones on public transport and use the priority seats on trains.

Sadly we seem to be aping the US in moving towards a totally me first society.

It says it all when the wealthiest country in the world elects a leader like Trump because he whips up hated of anyone not like him and tells America it deserves yet more of everything.

ruethewhirl · 10/04/2025 12:39

@AquaPeer you sound very defensive. You wouldn't happen to be a poo bag hanger yourself, would you? 🤔

Pompompowder · 10/04/2025 12:41

I think the poo bag hangers are lazy teens who had to walk the family dog or reluctant poo pickets who would leave it if they could get away with it

I am! Do you have any questions about it?

Octavia64 · 10/04/2025 13:07

I mean I feel that I didn’t change my toilet roll buying habits because of Covid.

(I changed them because of Brexit)

after Brexit I was worried about shortages of things getting into the UK and I decided it would be a good idea to set up an store of stuff.

so instead of having in a pack of toilet rolls, I bought a box of ten packs off Amazon and rebought when I opened the pack.

i also ordered 25kg bags of rice and big catering packs of pasta and tomatoes, and ordered some water bottles so that if the water went off we’d have some drinking water.

we already had an acre in the garden and I made part of it into a fruit and veg allotment and also started growing herbs.

so when Covid hit I just kept buying like I normally would - down to only one 25kg sack of rice, order a now one, down to the last ten box of packs of toilet rolls order a new one.

i actually didn’t change what I was buying really at all because between the garden and the prep store we were pretty well sorted.

(I was clinically vulnerable so dh did the shopping anyway)

ruethewhirl · 10/04/2025 14:29

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 12:55

I am! Do you have any questions about it?

Yes, do you always collect them on your way back?

And do you not think it would be more considerate to just keep hold of them till you get to a bin, so others aren’t exposed to your dog’s shit?

Corbusier · 10/04/2025 15:00

AquaPeer · 10/04/2025 12:55

People who park on the pavements meaning that people in wheelchairs, mobility vehicles, with prams or with limited vision really struggle to get past. It also damages the pavement and primarily affects the same groups. Selfish, inconsiderate bastards.

People in public places and spaces with their devices on speaker/without headphones. We don't want to hear it.
